I haven't seen boot grips in person. Are they any bigger than the b/w grip?

The short but sweet, No.
If someone doesn't do it sooner.
I'll try to post you a comparison pic
tomorrow night.

The boot grip is not as wide and a bit more low profile

Looks like to me it might be easier to twist in your hand. I really like the look of it with the boot grips.

Neither one of my Black Widow pistols has the original grip on them. I prefer the boot myself. Others will have varying opinions  ;)

My guns both now have the same style grip. It is sort of a elongated (1/2" longer) birds head. I like that shape. I find what I really needed was to get a second finger on the grip to stabilize it for me. The rest was preference. I sometime put the original grips back on in cold, wet whether (say Winter) so I don't damage the wood. I had a more rounded backed grip I made first, and that really filled my palm , But I just couldn't fall in love with the look. IMHO anything that fits for you and works well is good. If you can get two fingers on the boot grip, go for it.

Yep

I didn't realize the black, black widow was
bigger than the stainless.

With a single action pistol, that is not all bad. A big bore, centerfire single action can have "interesting" recoil. By allowing the revolver to rotate, some of the recoil energy is consumed, as opposed to be absorbed. It also places the hammer in a position for the thumb to hold it, while the wrist "flicks" the revolver forward. This not only cocks it, but places it more in line with firing the next shot. This will also work by using the weak hand to hold the hammer. It takes surprisingly little practice for this to become quite natural. The mini will accomplish the same thing, more or less, if it is allowed to recoil. Of course, the degree of effectiveness is reduced by the lower recoil.
