Deleting topics

When Mohawker left the board, I noticed that the person who starts a topic is now able to delete it along with all replies. That is very different from our old board, where even the topic name could not be altered. It reminds me of Shakespeare's Tempest:

dinadan, I am going to REPORT your post and this thread to Admin.

Admin can disable the ability of members deleting threads and still be able to edit posts.

This will be only a suggestion to Admin.

Allowing that kind of censorship is wrong.
Let's say several do it. (start malcontent, it spreads, then remove the instigating content)

The members should not control the forum, only contribute to it. (good or bad for ALL To See)

The edit option is properly used to correct mistakes or updating info.
Used maliciously = again a wrong doing towards everyone.

When did he do that??

So far here on this forum, the members have had pretty much the say....
If it gets too far out, we get help from above.
That is the way we like it.
We don't really need Mods.

uncle_lee, my concern is not by having or needing moderators.
It is that every registered user being able to manipulate the forum content.
As mowhawker DID !
He had hundreds of posts, now his post count is "0".
He took many other posts with him without having consent from the board.
My concern is being that every forum member has moderator privileges, per say at this time.
My effort was to bring this to Admins attention for evaluation.
This happened today.

Way down here in Fl. I have a nice 2 1/2 acre pond behind the house and have a pet 7 footer that eats out of my hand , gently I might add . I'll sit on the bank and feed him pizza leftovers . Buddy as we call him crawls up on my knee and takes it . Gators are cool if you grow them from little ones .
