OLD and GRUMPY

I am looking for a roll crimper for  410 shot shells. The kind that go in a hand drill. Thanks.

Will that work on the $%^# plastic shells? I had to give up reloading when I couldn't get the crimps to hold. I reloaded all the paper shells I had until the ends were too badly frayed or the primers wouldn't stay in. I prefer my .410 but I can't afford to feed it.

It works well on plastic. New primed hulls would be a good way to start because the end is clean. Or trim off part of the old fold. I just ordered these.  https://www.ballisticproducts.com/Cheddite-410-3-16mm-brass-primed-and-skived-bag_100/productinfo/1394176/   BPI has what you need. You could trim the old hulls to get good paper and load them as 2". Primer pocket repair https://www.ballisticproducts.com/Hull-Repair-Conditioning/products/130/ Or use a tiny drop of Crimp Seal on the primer.  Trimmers  https://www.ballisticproducts.com/Case-Trimming-Disassembly/products/138/ .  Trim 3" to 2 1/2, 2 1/2 to 2.

I threw the old shells away LONG ago. I had been getting new shells so cheaply I was only saving about 50 cents a box by reloading. By the case, as best I recall,  I was only paying $1.75 a box & sales tax was only 4%. Then when I couldn't get them anymore I had a grocery bag of empties I had saved. Took me quite a while to wear them out but that was still over twenty years ago. I really HATE the ^%#$ plastic shells. Can't reload them & they shoot too tight a pattern.

And you can light a waxed paper empty up with your Zippo and use it to bring some feeling back in frozen hands in the duck blind a few hours after dawn. Plastic just melts on your skin.
