Decisions, decisions. So many minis, so little time.  :)

So, I now have a 4 inch Ranger en route.

Or both for that matter. We believe he has become infected with what gets all of us on this forum sooner or later.  :o

I found myself just setting and looking at that holster.
Sipped a half cup of coffee before I realized it.

There is something about that Holster/Gun combination that stands out.
I find myself wondering what it is and... looking at it "longer" than normal. I'm amazed that I made it!  :o
Is it the proportions? The Color? Did I unknowingly use Fibonacci's Sequence (The Golden Ratio) in the design? lol!
I'm not sure, but it is a "looker!"  ;)

I don't know what it either but I just spent some more time gazing at it.
Shape, size, color balance, name it and it is there.

The anxious wait is finally over.  My favorite mini is my one and only mini; a BW that I just received today...  It is most certainly love at first sight and sure feels good in hand... This baby is going everywhere I go, well almost.  She far exceeded my expectations.  I'd never held one or even looked at one up close.  Not sure why I had in mind to compare with my Bond Arms Texas Defender - Maybe there's a comparison that can be made with workmanship, fit, and finish.  But there's no size or weight comparison whatsoever.

Uncle_Lee

Congrats Tip,
You will love even more when you take it out and shoot it.
Let us know how the first date comes out..

Good job Tip! The Black Widow is always a good choice (I think I have 3 or 4 of them)  ;)  And... it's good to have both cylinders!

Clean and lightly oil it before going to the Range. They are usually very "dry" when shipped and being so new the tolerances are tight.  With a new NAA, I also wipe the frame, barrel, and cylinder out with lightly oiled patches after every 10 or 15 rounds. I do this for at least the first 100 rounds or so.

Get familiar with how to safely drop the hammer in the safety notch.  This is a very important step to carry any NAA Revolver!

Do not "Dry Fire" your NAA.  It can damage the hammer "blade" that contacts the shell rim

When shooting, pull firmly on the trigger. Pulling slowly can cause a light strike and the shell will not go off

Have fun and practice... a lot

Depending on your needs and state laws, you need to think about how you want to carry it.  ;)

Now you need to think about what your next "Mini" will be!  You can't resist them! lol! (it's an illness  :D)

I sure appreciate all your recommendations Rick.  I spent a lot of time yesterday practicing placement of the hammer into the cylinder safety notch and practicing cylinder removal/installation; the practicing is definitely helping, as I'm getting better doing them than at first.  I've avoided dry-firing, knowing that can damage most firrarms, but I have been practicing cocking/de-cocking - the trigger is not as difficult as I had expected.

Hopefully I can get a chance to shoot next weekend and I'll follow-up with a range report.

That's some mighty fine leather work that you do!

Boisesteve

Tip,
Rick's advice was spot-on.  And practice IS the key on these little revolvers, getting the trigger broken in and learning how it works and feels and how it's sight picture looks so it hits where you want it to.
It's not a Glock17 or 1911 .45, but it's a gun that's effortless to always have with you and as is said, the gun you have with you is better than the one that's home in the nightstand when you need it now.

Newbie here and my favorite is my first, the Pug.  Had it sent off to the mothership for the 22 LR cylinder and to add night sights.  Only put 25 rds of 22 WMR thru it so far to get familiar and function check.  Love this little gem, so easy to carry and is with me all the time.

Uncle_Lee

Welcome Mike,
Good choice on the Pug.
Of course all minis are a good choice.
Keep us up to date on how the Pug is acting. Don't let it bite any one.
Pictures, we like pictures of any thing. (oops, no porn)

They sure look great Al , I'm gearing up to start a few myself , one each of mammoth ivory one of red dear antler and one of probably some type of wood . I do these to get it out of the system . :):):) Al I gotta pat you on the back being as you carve your grips on the inside to recess into the frame instead of adding a piece of micarta like I do . :)
I'm with HeyJoe on which I prefer as best favorites , maybe an "Earl" thrown in . Its a hard choice especially after making grips for them then they all are special . :)

Yeah I might like the Sherriff, if it would fit in my hip pocket. I am short (5'5), so most pants pockets are too. The BW with the rubber grips sometimes peaks out. In those pants I switch to the Wasp.

Not many long barrels listed among the favorites.

Canoeal

I don't know for sure by the numbers, but I bet there are fewer "long barrels'"( over 2") made, model per model, speaking. Like compare the Pug, BW and Mini Master numbers.

Well I've acquired 4 different NAA's and the Black Widow is the one that nobody has been able to get away from me.

Son in Law had gotten a 1 5/8" Magnum Spanish Fork model from me and somehow has my Mini Master out at their 80 acre farm...He said the Desert Gun Leather Holster for it works great on the tractor.

Gave my best friend another Spanish Fork 1 5/8" Magnum I had found.  He is out on a farm in Central Texas and is prone to finding Western Diamondbacks out there.

Me and my Black Widow spend a lot of time together.  It rides in a DGL holster at all times. Either Pocket, pancake or a sweet custom driving holster that matches the Red and Black CVang revision grips..
