I got her back

So back about 15 years ago I was in a bad place financially and ended up selling a pistol that was left to me by my father when he passed. Needless to say that it was always something I regretted but what's done is done. I'm good friends with the son-in-law of the guy who purchased the pistol and would ask him from time to time to ask his pop if he was willing to part with it.  No such luck. Fast forward to a week ago and my friend asked me if I was still interested in having it back. I guess his father-in-law has fallen ill and is moving out west to be with his daughter so they can care for him and he is liquidating his possessions locally. This morning I brought her home looking as good as the day I sold her. I can't seem to wipe the smile from my face right now. Need to get to the range (maybe on my pops birthday in the beginning of Aug) and run a few rounds thru it in his honor. Here she is back where she belongs.

These hammerless just have a special place with me also . Beautiful lines simple and sweet , relatively compact also . Myself I have a 38 special . The hammer ones (upper and lower) are 357's .
TO ARMS , TO ARMS the liberal socialists are coming . Load and prime your weapons . Don't shoot till you see their UN patches or the Obama bumper stickers , literally . And shoot any politician that says he wants to help you or us .

Wumbey Goomba

I think I see a hammer.

Joe,
Many times we sell off things that later on we regret having done so.  You had the rare opportunity to get back that item you sold/traded off.

That does not happen often.

No need to use the +P stuff in that piece, the regular rounds work just fine. Have been doing so for decades.

I have a Colt Army Special that has a LOOOOONG history, dating back to the Rough Riders,Black Jack Pershing,WW I,!! and Korea.  I "acquired" it in Vietnam (long story).

When I take the old girl out,it is nothing but nice mild WC loads for her. She has seen enough.

Top Dog she will probably spend a good amount of time in the safe from now on. Maybe some occasional target shooting. I've got my Ruger LCR in 357 for carry when I wanna carry that extra punch. Plus the LCR is lighter. I can safely say I will never sell her again. One lof my children will get it when I pass.

Smokeless Joe,
Well, glad to see that she is now back home safe & sound.

That Ruger LCR in 357,have you fired 357 rounds in it.??? I hear that it may be an experience.!!!!!

I have fired them and was pleasantly surprised at how well it handled the recoil. Years ago I had an sp101 in 357 that would hurt my hand every time I pulled the trigger so I sold it.

Glad you were able to once again enjoy that sweet hammerless beauty    8)

I think I bought that SP 101.
I shot 5 rounds thru it one handed, one time.
My palm hurt for a week.
Don't think I'll be doing that again.

If it wasn't able to shoot 38, I would think
long and hard about passing it on too.

top dog

I have an SP 101 in 3 inch and did not feel the recoil that much.

Good to hear that the LCR handled the magnums well. I don't know if there is a significant increase in velocity in the magnum with the short bbl but I guess that the muzzle blast might be seriously increased!!!!!!!!!

I have a 3 inch one as well but in 9mm. That's my nightstand piece

Wumbey Goomba

Mine (the one that hurts) is the 2 1/4,357.
It's not bad at all two hand. But like I said
it would have to be an emergency, to make
me think about one handed.
It too is one of my bedside guns.
It's always at the ready loaded with 38+p.

It is always so nice to see folks on this forum are  "prepared".
