Many "experts" agree that drawing "Cross Draw" is a quick and easy way to achieve a "combat grip" from a seated position.

Some others (experts)... not so much. (but some admit it is still good while seated/driving)

This is one of our "Driving Holsters" it is carried normally in the "Cross Draw" style. We also have Cross Draw Holsters with Belt Slots to mount on the belt to carry. The Driving Holster has a "Strap" with industrial Velcro (Hook & Loop) so the Holster can be quickly put on and taken off if the user chooses.

While researching this I found, not all "experts" are fond of "cross draw" carry but I do appreciate that most articles admitted that there "is a place" for it (if comfortable for the user.)

Speaking from my own experience (remember, I am not an expert) Carrying cross draw is very comfortable and is the quickest way for me to draw while seated and/or belted in the driver's seat. Also, I'm not trying to carry a full-size 1911, large Glock, or Sig (Cross Draw): it's an NAA or a small .32 or .380 and I also carry one "Strong Side" and one in a front pocket in a "Pocket Holster".

Even while working the cross-draw is not in my way (NAA Magnum of one type or another. Usually a Black Widow or a Pug) Sometimes a Ranger II 1 5/8" Bbl. but I have carried the 2 1/2" Bbl. Ranger Cross Draw with no trouble.

With training and experience, the new gun owner starts to see that "one gun" does not "do it all" if they are going to carry a gun consistently.
The same holds true for Holsters. Now... there is the added expense of Holsters for the multiple guns they "need"  ;)

When a new shooter first "acquires a gun" they want that gun to be "everything" and "do it all". It is a significant outlay of cash for the new gun owner and they have a difficult time thinking that they "need" many more and the added expense of Holsters for them.

Oh, snap! "Some of these guns I now own can be carried in a couple of different configurations!" So... now some of the guns have 2 or 3 of their own Holsters made for specific carry methods. It's a vicious circle only confined by our ability to pay for it all.

About this Holster...

This customer has several Holsters for most of his guns. Most of the time he buys 2 guns of each model so he has one in his summer home in the mid-west and one for his winter home here in Phoenix AZ.  ;) (The man knows what he likes and needs!)  :)

He has something on order with us all the time and he likes nice leather so I always try to do something a little different for him. In the winter we shoot with the same trainer on Friday mornings but he also shoots at other facilities other days of the week and in the summer in the mid-west so the Holsters are seen by quite a few people and he is always willing to hand out cards  ;)

This Driving Holster is lined with smooth leather and the front belt strap is tooled. The Velcro and "Belt Block" are stitched to the liner so it doesn't interfere/show on the front tooling. It takes some additional planning and measuring to get everything centered and assembled.

The Leather is Chestnut Color and the Stitching is "Burnt Orange". The Burnt Orange Thread looks good on almost every color of leather we offer! It's my favorite right now, I've used it on the last couple of Holsters I've made for myself!  ;)

Comments, Questions, Constructive Criticism are always welcome!  Thanks for looking!

Short arms + big belly = no cross draw.
It didn't register with me that is an issue for some guys. I had a customer show me that he couldn't reach his left side! Duh!

Beautiful work!!!!  I carry crossdraw. zero cant Cz po1 Omega CZ 75 B Omega  and 1911s --all crossdraw after seeing someone sneak up on a guy and rip his firearm from his holster and make off with it!!!  He was caught later!!!   I use zero cant because it hides the firearm better---I do wear a longer vest type all the time...,

Yeah I forget some times , myself being in the contractor business we use to deal with holdoffs of  30-60-90 -never types of payments . Funny people like to spend their due payments on themselves and still bust your butt to get it done , always amazed me . :)

That's when gun #2 comes out! I'm never looking for a gunfight but I think something like this would put me in one.

I'm not a lawyer or LEO (so don't take this as advice) but I think someone taking your gun should qualify as you being "in fear for your life"

Thanks Bj!  I'll be looking for it on their video's  ;)

We have been doing the same thing with our Gun Safe and refrigerator for a while. We had access to a lot more stickers when we had a "Sign Guy" next door to the shop!

Rick; who did the Cerakote job on your Mustang? It looks terrible. They did not even remove the tape from the medallions on the grip panels.  ::)  8)

I keep the tape there to keep them pristine  :o

It might look bad but it's a "sweet shooter"  ;)

Rick I've owned all of the Little Colts.  Last one was the Colt Pony. A light weight Double action.  I sold it just before Colt brought them back out.  Found a collector in Denver when we were living there that had to have it.... Nine and a half it went home with him!  You know me I'll sell one of my babies if the buyer offers enough! There's always another one on the endless bucket list to keep me going.

That also creates demand for new holsters....

I think I saw the sticker on the upper left of the wall near a Ruger sticker.  Maybe they could use a custom knife sheath maker!
