Evening All,

First post for me, long time NAA owner, first time poster. Looking forward to getting involved with the forum.

So, I have an issue with my .32 Guardian and my .380 Guardian - I figured this would be a good place to get some direction on fixing this.

First, minor issue. My .32 (bought new last month) is on the small frame, with a .32AUTO spent casing. But the slide is marked "32 NAA" not "32 ACP". Did NAA change the markings of the 32 autos?

Second, major issue. Took my new .380 Guardian to the range tonight to function check it. I was getting terrible bullet tumble and FTF ever few rounds. I figured it needed a bit of break in. I got home to clean it and while I was inspecting it I noticed something I haven't encountered before. The barrel was smooth, there was no rifling. I attached the best picture I could.
I emailed customer service about the 32 a few weeks ago and never got a response. Anyone have any advice on how to proceed?

Thanks for any help you can give me on this one!

Hi Joe,

Welcome to forum! Sorry to hear about the issues you're having with your Guardians. For the .32, unfortunately we had some frames get out that were stamped wrong. As for the .380, there is a break-in period of 200 or so rounds, but the barrel definitely should not be smooth. I apologize for the lack of response we've been a little under staffed. Please email Rachel in customer service, [email protected]

Had the same issue with a .22 short several years ago. Not the slightest trace of any rifling. The dealer sent it back & after waiting for quite a while he gave me a .22 LR as a replacement. Still not much rifling but at least not a smooth bore. I have to wonder if a smooth bore pistol is even legal?

The rifling in my Guardians is definitely not real distinct. You can't see it very well without having a light directly at the opposite end of the bore.
In your photos, the edge above the breech looks kind of rough, not something that was done in machining.
"If you get it and didn't work for it, someone else worked for it and didn't get it..."

As far as I know a smooth bore wouldn't have any legal issues.

My .32 has light rifling for sure, but it's accurate and punches nice holes in paper.

I was shocked with the 380, the rounds were tearing through the paper like a field goal kick.
