A friend sent this link to me today knowing my addiction healthy collection of NAA Minis
$450 is out of my range for a gun I think will not be of decent quality.

What do you think?

.

I like how it opens automatically,  like a switchback knife

Interesting, but why no photo of it open? It looks like more of a sliding button, not pressed. It's a pre-order deal, not shipping yet. I'd need some more research to get an opinion.

I've seen an article somewhere on their Thunderstruck revolver. Weird, holds eight rounds of .22 Mag, and fires them two at a time.

https://stdgun.com/pistols/

They show a Colt Woodsman clone that is "Coming Soon", photos look good.

Since I'm a switchblade guy, I have thought about adapting a spring to the NAA folding grip.
I don't think it's a good idea. The mechanics of this would tend to make it very easy to drop the gun as it opens.

You can Google several articles and photos. This one shows it open. States it's 9 ounces loaded, and a .88 inch parrel. That's really short !!

The shiny silver piece at the lower front would be the cylinder release?

It says the barrel is .88". I suspect the velocity would be VERY low and keyholing almost certain. But since I live in the DPRK it really doesn't matter.

heyjoe

it looks like the Braverman 32 acp

Interesting but more than I?m looking to pay for the wow factor

Too rich for what you get I figure . Nice pictures though . :) .
TO ARMS , TO ARMS the liberal socialists are coming . Load and prime your weapons . Don't shoot till you see their UN patches or the Obama bumper stickers , literally . And shoot any politician that says he wants to help you or us .

heyjoe

i dont see any advantage to this gun over the NAA minis. Its blocky, it looks like it has  sharp edges on the frame,  its single action also. The Braverman on the other hand was 32 acp and double action.

I'm with HeyJoe that Braveman looks more of what is should be , a big plus being double action .

From the photos it looks like they use the NAA Hammer, trigger and cylinder.  Are they made by NAA or sub-contractors?

The cylinder pin appears to be styled similar to the Pug/Black Widow/Mini Master

In one photo it looks like an NAA Cylinder and in another is a different cylinder that has "square-ish" sides.

After handling one of their S333 Thunderstruck I'm going to pass on this one.  I like "odd" guns but they need to have some quality to last.

Recalling that my momma taught me that if I do not have anything good to say....

PASS.  Their SS model did not impress me so I'll stick with my Black Widow as my favorite mini choice.

I think they reason they don't show it open is because it's ugly. (And I'm one who likes ugly guns--I gave their 2-shot-per-pull revolver!). They do have a picture of it open if you pan the photos to the right. I haven't decided if I like this or not.

i love ugly firearms but, this is just different and expensive. ahhh, im gonna order one anyway. my two cents.  kevin

Awesome! I'm looking forward to a "hands on" evaluation of this gun  ;) (I just love it when anyone buys a new gun!)  ;D

Haha, yeah, actually, I have a lot in my collection that fit that category. I'm not looking to buy this one soon, though. I do like Standard's new stuff, though. I have the double-barrel .22-Magnum revolver and I think it's pretty cool.

Thats one thing that can't be deigned Mr22 you have the ultimate collection of fugly weapons and beyond . Ha ,Ha .   ;D ;) ;) ;)

Yeah, I won't deny that! :o But I also have some awesome-looking guns, so I think they even out. Plus the ugly guns are still pretty cool, so that negates some of the ugly score.

antares_b

Apparently, they?re getting closer to production: https://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/range-day-standard-manufacturings-switch-folding-pocket-revolver/.

It looks like they?ve settled on an unfluted cylinder. At least the gun in the video is in better cosmetic shape than the one in the early announcement.

Still just a Pug imitator with a spring-loaded folding grip. It?s always interesting to see companies trying to improve on the tried-and-true NAA minis.

Uncle_Lee

The only reason that I would buy one is because it is different.

If they made it in LR or had an interchangeable cylinder I?d be down for one.

I saw one of these in their booth today at the SHOT Show. I didn't ask to hold it, though.

Good thing MR.22 every gun you touch you buy it seems .  ;) ;)

Sootch00 did a review on the SwitchGun recently: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=cX95G33oR6A. I wanted to know if the hammer can be cocked (or moved back enough to slip out of the safety notch) while the grip is locked closed. The review did not cover that.

The only design element that appeals to me is the hammer spur. It?s a bit more broad and flat than the NAA style.

since the hammer is not covered And the cylinder is not bound in the grip when closed, I am sure that that hammer can come back enough in your pocket to slip out of the safety notch.

Nice ingenuity on that custom hammer!

bill_deshivs

OV-1D

Bill I drilled some small holes ( two on each side) and taped then used smallest hex screws I could find , oh and I also indented where the hex screws tighten on the hammer to keep from slipping (lock tight used on hex screws) . Haven't done it yet in the pictures .

bill_deshivs

I see (but I didn't see!)
I was really hoping your answer was not going to be "Epoxy."

OV-1D

NOOO not epoxy Bill . Had to drill real slow on the ears of that piece as to not harden the metal anymore so I could tap them out . I'll get pics sooner or later .  ;)
