Well you guys out there in the gun world my FFL. guy has a little dilemma . Seems he did not keep enough record of a Ranger #1 I sold to one of us on this forum back a couple of years , Nov. 2019 to be exact . ATF is wanting the info on the FFL. guy my FFL. guy sent it to . My memory stops a few months back so I'm no help , I don't even remember our poster I sold it to . If your out there boss reading this post please contact me with your info on your FFL. receivership . This gotta happen or the ATF is going to deem it stolen , so its important you get back to me with any info you have . Thanks .

Well thanks anyhow guys I backtracked my messages and found Ranger Jim who owns my (his) other , offered to buy back but I doubt it . Thanks for reading fellas . Thank goodness for NAA's record keeping in the personal message section .. ;) ;)

Guillotine is French, I used to work on airplanes and a lot of the nomenclature is French (is nomenclature French?). The French were the main pioneers in aviation, so they got to dream up the terms first. Fuselage, aileron, monocoque, longeron, empennage, lots of others.

So, what, apparently this gun was used in a crime? And your transferring FFL didn't keep track of which FFL he sent it to?

For a private sale, the tracing usually ends there. There's not much the ATF can do about it at that point if it didn't get sold through an FFL.

A few years ago, I bought a Taurus 8-shot revolver for my brother on GunBroker once and had it sent to his FFL in Idaho (I'm in Utah, but I never took possession of the gun, or even saw it). The police, or ATF, or whomever does the tracking, called my brother and asked where is gun was. He said in his closet. They said go look. It wasn't there.

Turns out, one of his son's friends stole it and shot himself with it. I guess it doesn't take long for the ATF to track down guns if they go through a series of FFL's, but it's a point-to-point process, since, supposedly, records aren't stored and a database isn't kept.

My brother got the gun back, but he didn't want it anymore. Anyway, glad you got the issues resolved and nobody's going to jail--or at least nobody you know. ;)

Yeah I don't know what the mix up is but I'm clear of it all whatever it is . My sender came to me if I knew who the receivers FFL. guy was , heck I don't know anymore but I'm trying to help out for a limited time only (like today only) . Just brings back bad memories selling that Ranger 1 to begin with ,I would have sold one of my offspring before unloading the gun but I already sold all the offspring . My other Ranger won't ever forgive me . :'( :'( :'( :'(

No Rick I only have one lonely Break Top now . Heck I was a late comer to buying them to begin with I did have four of them for a very short time (I was paying anywhere between $500. and $800.) and flipping them for a short gain to cover the price I paid for them . Ended up with two , (BUT NOT CONSECRATIVE NUMBERED) like some people we know .. Ranger Jim caught me at a weak moment and unloaded my second one . Shame on me , the shame ,the shame .  ;D

No shame on you OV...  You were smart enough to make a few bucks, nothing wrong with that.

You and I banter here because its FUN and all in good nature (and I need to get back at you for forcing me to buy all these darn guns!)  ;)
