Just think you wait all this time and find NAA never really had your order for a sidewinder.

1967

I have talked to Jessica from the beginning monthly, order is in system but its always
Next month , next month , etc... Last talk quoted delivery date was in jan 2013

1967

Been busy with x mas lights so I will call Jess Monday, again !!

boone123

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT!
I would bet that NAA is doing everything they can to get the EB guns out to the new buyers. I bet they would much rather tend to making the  new SW than running to the phone every few min. to give updates as to where somebodys new to be gun is at in the system. If they say its coming, I bet you will get it.
I was suprised they did a early bird speciel again after the break top thing. I will bet they don't need the pressureright now...
Might be wrong, have been before!

1967

Easy cure for my monthly calls would have been a jan 2013 delivery quote in sept 2012 , not next week oh next month oh next year !

boone123

maybe they are just stringing you along for chuckles.

1967

No I think it's more like ruger is busy with other items & the SW are down on the list.

I wonder if anybody sent money orders or checks . They would be the first receivers seeing they have their monies in hand . Using credit cards they can put us off by not charging it till whenever . Already had to update my card info once , it is ridiculous this waiting thing . Thought we would be treated a little special being were the pre-orders . Theres no excuse for this silliness , it's like they're working out of a garage . Come on NAA get it together before I do or will lose interest in buying anymore . If its a case of needing help give me a call and plane ticket . I personnally don't want some bullsh*t law come along with this piece of cr*p president in there making something new to jump through . MOVE IT !!!!!!!!!!
TO ARMS , TO ARMS the liberal socialists are coming . Load and prime your weapons . Don't shoot till you see their UN patches or the Obama bumper stickers , literally . And shoot any politician that says he wants to help you or us .

OV-1D

P.S. NAA my ffl. guy IS really thinking about pulling up stakes and get into something else . So how about it fill these orders will ya before I have to look elsewhere ..

Flint that thought has crossed my mind.
It's too bad that our friends cant be here with us today

OV-1D

If anybody is interested I have conformation of June 12 th . Then they lost my paperwork resent then lost ffl. guy info that was with it then monthly conformations then November weekly calls to confirm then two weeks ago every third day conformations now I'm going to start daily next week . I'm thinking its the twilight zone now . Enough is enough .

OV-1D, If you need to replace your FFL dealer, you can use Gunbroker's or Gallery of Guns FFL locator to find a new one:
http://www.gunbroker.com/ffl/dealernetwork.aspx
http://www.galleryofguns.com/Retailer/default.aspx

If you're anxious to get a gun before Congress reconvenes, cancel your Sidewinder order and go buy an NAA mini-revolver or something else off the shelf. NAA has promised to fill all EB orders before shipping regular orders of Sidewinders to dealers, so I'm sure those who want one, but missed the Early Bird sale will appreciate being moved a little closer to getting their guns.

heyjoe - after seeing your post asking 1967 about the date of his pre-order, I dug through my e-mails. I had forgotten that when I used the form to submit my order during the wee hours of June 4th, that it didn't kick out a confirmation. I sent NAA an e-mail at 8:14 (CST) on the 4th asking for confirmation and received it at 9:21 am that same morning. Allowing for the time zone difference, that's pretty fast service for whomever came in on Monday morning at NAA and started wading through a weekend's worth of e-mail.

I had hoped that Obama would not be re-elected, and that even though he was, I hoped that the gun rush of 2008 would have handled most of the last-minute "preppers" (excluding those folk who got old enough buy guns who weren't in 2008, or new US citizens) who decided that they better get a gun while the getting was good. Unfortunately, that was not the case.

http://m.usatoday.com/article/news/1727409

"For the second consecutive year, prospective gun buyers joined Black Friday shoppers in record numbers as firearms dealers swamped the FBI with required buyer background check requests.

The FBI fielded 154,873 calls, a roughly 20% increase from last year's previous one-day record of 129,166, according to bureau records.
The requests came in such volume throughout the day that FBI call centers experienced two brief outages — one of 18 minutes and one for 14 minutes —during the busy day, bureau spokesman Stephen Fischer said Monday."

It would be interesting to know the approximate percentage of American-made goods in the firearms and ammunition industry. Obama might have inadvertently cut into the sales of imported goods if more Americans are foregoing other purchases to stock up on assault rifles, handguns, hi-capacity magazines and ammunition, and more of those items are made domestically.

Thanks Kevin I've got a number of ffl.guys locally its just I'll have to go through motions to line them both ( NAA & FFL.GUY ) together again . MORE TIME wasted . From now on I hope NAA doesn't ask for orders UNTIL they have at least parts in their hands to compleat at least a couple of hundred pieces for starters . Not very smart business practices . Can't fill the orders don't ask for them bottom line . No more mister nice guy here . Had a few businesses in my lifetime NEVER couldn't supply what I'm selling , money lost in the long run . As my old saying goes " Can't stand the heat don't get in the frying pan ". Good business people anticipate EVERYTHING to succeed everything because the bottom line dictates if your going to be around long . Innovation is whats keeping these gun manufacturers going more so NAA because they specialize in one type of style gun mostly .22 so you better keep up . I don't know just where NAA would be if their sub-contracting manufacturers turn down their services . Enough running off sorry .

When you call NAA tomorrow, tell them next time they come out with a new gun, not to tell anybody, and no more Early bird deals.
Way to stressful on their customers
Maybe their picking the bugs out, as they go being its a new gun.  Would you settle for BUGS/

OV-1D

Ofcourse not . None of these guns should have to go back for tweeking neither , any of them period but thats only MY opinion  . Quality control is paramont in any manufacturing before being sent out for receivership it must be the best it can be with no if's , and's or but's .. Sure sending them back for tweeking is a great service but in business sense the more you have to handle your product the less you make . So get it right the first time why don't ya . As for getting the bugs out they must be some South American unknown monster creature forty feet long thats about to take over the world with it's offspring .. Dang .  ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;)

Getting it right the first time to begin with might be why you are still waiting.   Just saying!
For my part, just right will have a 4 in barrel.
^6 in. would be kind of cute.
10 in. would be really wild.

OV-1D

Yep those would be nice boone longer barrels are always a favorate, got some pictures coming just took some today now I gotta figure whats next . I'm diffinently not computer savvy so this could take somebody with more smarts simply because I hate these machines ..

yes 1967, true. thats why i bought extra parts while they are available. did you see my question to you above about when you preordered the sidewinder?
It's too bad that our friends cant be here with us today

bbgun

I had the same horrible thought a few months ago.  I called NAA to order 2 sets of boot grips to go with my Sidewinders when they were delivered.  Well, what sidewinders are you talking about?  We have no order from you for any sidewinders.  Of course I had ordered them as soon as possible -- two with both cylinders.  They straightened it out finally, but I did miss my chance to get EB001.  So I would suggest you follow up on any orders for the SW in case they did get lost like mine.  I got EB025 and EB026 finally.  They are really stiff, like somebody previously said.  I need to hire a gorilla to close the cylinder.  I wonder what that costs.  I heard gorillas are expensive by the hour.

1967

I will have to look my notes over for exact date , but from memory
The ffl was not sent correctly do my ffl resent it with in 2 days time & I was on the
Ffl & he did order the 2nd day the eb thing opened .

I have called many times as has the ffl & it's always something.

My pal who also has 2 ordered was told that " as soon as they are shipped to us,we will
Send them out ". My pal is not a member here but is a large buyer from naa... Nuff said.

OV-1D-
Go back and re-read what Sandy posted re: The EB SW offering. At no point did he offer an absolute ship date. He has repeatedly emphasized projections, etc. He has stated one of the problems involves a supplier not living up to a promised ship date, thus setting completion dates back. There is no doubt he hates this delay more than you do.

Two thoughts for you:
1) Since this seems to be causing you a great deal of anguish, perhaps it would be in your best interest to to use your next call to Jessica to cancel your order. Then you can relax, let your blood pressure drop, and move on to your next gun purchase.

2) Since you have the experience of running a business, and are well aware of how to provide good customer service, perhaps you could start your own gun manufacturing business, and since you would be even more efficient than, NAA, maybe even put them out of business. The good news would be, since you own the company, you could have serial number 1 of every new model you make. And, you would not have to wait!

Historically, for major name gun makers, there have been frequent long lapses between SHOT Show display and first production samples hitting dealer shelves.

Building a prototype and setting up the production requirements are two very different animals.

As far as getting all the bugs worked out before shipping... a manufacturer tests all the functions as they are supposed to function. There is no way to predict how the eventual customer will operate the product... Every customer reads the instructions before operating, right?  ;)

The Sidewinder's cylinder crane is a new mechanical feature. I'm guessing NAA didn't pay somebody to sit there opening and closing the crane 1000's of times. There may be some endurance improvements needed with future production. Anybody familiar with Smith & Wesson knows most models have had several modifications... and they do know a thing or two about making revolvers!   ;D

I was fortunate to have been drawn for the first 20, and I run the risk of having to send mine back in for upgrade after the rest of you have a chance to torture test yours.

If I were still waiting, I would feel all the same anxiety and strained patience. However, I would have no doubt about NAA fulfilling their stated commitment to deliver all of the Early Bird orders as soon as production allows.

Can't stop now it's become a quest . Just don't take orders before you get your ducks in a row . Not even pre-orders .

NAA Took pre orders at the request of the members, doing them a favor so they could have the early bird speciel.
Don't make them regret their good will favor to the members.
Did you get your order in before the deadline date? You never came on as a forum member till long after that date. Was your order in long before you stopped in here? If you didn't beat the deadline you  might not be on the list. You might want to check that out.
You might not have to wait any longer.
Find out if your FFL even got the paper work to them on time.

OV-1D

Hey boone yea all paperwork in , I sent it all myself twice back on June 12th , had conformation of order all along direct from Jessica . So the wait goes on and on and on . So what was the deadline anyhow ?? I just know the double cylinder must be holding things up on these later ones . Waiting on parts is the only answer . And the beat goes on . Just had to blow off some steam due to some people we know so NAA was in the crosshairs .. By the way Good Morning America .

1967

My 2 are not double cylinders . Just 2 .22mag SW . Last time I called
Was told first week in dec I would have them . Well no charge yet . :o

It's all good and really it don't matter , I would suggest that NAA just say it going to be 6-12 months out on custom stuff and then if we get it in 5 months ... We would be saying how great naa  order system is !

CavScout

There were several dual cylinder Sidewinders in the first 20, including mine. I don't see a production hold-up for the same part with slightly different chamber dimensions. Either swapping a chamber reamer or adjusting a boring head should be the only tooling change.

cedarview kid

Hey guys, I'm just as frustrated as anybody else right now, but having gone thru numerous Early-Bird deals so far with NAA, I'm confident we'll all be pleased in the end. It's kind of ironic that we are down to Christmastime now, tho, as I feel like a little kid again dealing with the frustration that Christmas is still 3 weeks away. LOL.

Christmas will come and we'll get our NAA's, so let's try not to take it out on NAA, as they are more than generous to offer this deal to us on new models before they even go out to distributors. I'm sure it's more of a headache for NAA to deal with us end customers instead of just sending them off to distributors and letting them worry about where they end up.

So, I for one would like to express my extreme appreciation for NAA allowing us first dibs on the Sidewinders--even if it's taking them a little longer to get them out. Being in the software business myself, I understand how you just don't want to ship out a product that's not quite ready and sometimes things just take longer than you anticipate.

Thanks Sandy and Mr. Admin Guy and Jessica and Ken and Carl and Dustin and the rest of the NAA Gang! :)

Also, check out the December Sandy Soapbox. NAA intends to get all Early-Bird SW's delivered by the end of the Year. Merry Christmas!

Thanks Joe you saved me the call and confirmed my suspicions with the extra cylinders . Oh what a tangled web they weave . Not too bad just SIX months and counting , ridicious , my card will probably expire by whenever . All this anxiety and I won't have my sidewinder when the world ends on the 21st . Dang .
