I have a NAA-22LR basic model, can I use grips listed as accessories for the magnums or not?

OV-1D

Generally no . Size of frame dictates accessories not caliber . These other guys know more just wait .

Generally speaking, with the entire current line of NAA products, any .22LR grip accessory fit will any .22LR mini and any .22Magnum grip accessory will fit any .22Mangum mini, but the LR and Magnum are NOT interchangeable. That means a Black Widow grip will fit a Minimaster and an Earl grip will fit the Pug. This interchangeability rule also includes the holster grips. I THINK the .22 short are compatible with the .22LR, but maybe somebody can clarify that.

However, if you are talking about some of the vintage NAA minis, this may NOT be the case. I know a modern .22LR grip will not fit my older NAA minis.

wow. wish I knew before I just ordered a holster grip. my model is from the 70's.

now I wonder if any grips shown would work for me. I could probably modify as needed the wooden grips.

The holster grip might fit the older ones; I'm not sure. The problem is the size and shape of the grip may have changed slightly, but if any WILL fit, It would be the holster grip would be the best candidate. Maybe somebody at NAA can better advise you. I'm just speaking from experience. I have a California NAA mini and a Freedom Arms mini and the grips required are different. (I purchased a new set of the fake ivory grips for my older NAA's, as the older ones tended to split and crack under pressure, but the new ones didn't fit. I watched eBay for quite sometime before I saw a set that I knew would fit--and they did.)

If the holster grip doesn't fit, I bet NAA will allow a return. You may want to ask them. Is your 70's mini a .22LR or .22Short?

socalbeachbum

it's a .22LR and I ordered the grips from Cheaper Than Dirt and they allow returns no problem.

maybe I should carve my own. the date of mine is roughly 1978, 1.1" barrel, says Spanish Fork, ser is C544xx.

You may be OK, Bum. Only way to know is try it. I don't think NAA made holster grips back then, so there's probably no way to get a vintage one. If you don't mind woking on the grip a little bit yourself, I'm sure you'll be able to get it to fit.

Thanks, Joe. I was pretty sure of that, but the only shorts I own (minis, that is) are the one ones.

Freedom arms boot grips (plastic) will fit with a little adjusting . You have to call them to see if they have any left , I might have gotten the last maybe . They come in black or white . I did buy up just about everything (parts) they had left minus a little . Good luck .

I have a early .22 short California mfg . I can say that current .22short/lr
Grips will fit but are going to need a lot of work , inside and outside to fit well & will need a refinish to look great . You can rough out just the inside to make them fit but grip will over hang
Here & their a bit , not to bad but enough to bug some.
