With the new inhouse machinery, lower cost, and better quality, what are the chances of an updated Ranger II making its way into NAA's product lineup ?

My guess is maybe they used some of that new equipment to build the Rangers? So I'm betting no.... :(

My father passed back in 2009. All the wishing I've done since hasn't brought him back yet... :'-(

Uncle_Lee

Mine went back in 89 and I still miss him just as much today as I did then.

My Father passed in 1995. I still have the first and last guns he gave me... A Remington 510 (10th Birthday), and a Smith & Wesson K-38 Masterpiece (last visit Christmas '94). I also now have his Remington 121 he taught me shooting with when I was 7.

Just read the soapbox article , you think I was pissed before NOW I"M ready to explode . You mean to tell me I've been waiting all this time just to be lumped into the same production of standard issue . Numbers don't mean a dam thing to me before but now after being jerked  around and making sure I don't use my card too much in fear of problems with order for months and months , sounds like our present presidency , this dam thing better work and look like gold . I wanted the piece I PRE-ORDERED months and months ago not some business as usual put him off till whenever item . Then you give them out to some bozo's for advertizing that you didn't even get . Listen in my business word of mouth is MY advertizing and this first pre-order thing has left one bad taste in my mouth my man . So the only reason I'm following through with this order it's become a quest now just to see just how long it will take for future sales and recommending .
TO ARMS , TO ARMS the liberal socialists are coming . Load and prime your weapons . Don't shoot till you see their UN patches or the Obama bumper stickers , literally . And shoot any politician that says he wants to help you or us .

Dinadan

OV-ID - I prescribe one pound of steak, two pints of beer, and a movie or book that you like. Maybe pull out a gun or knife that you are really fond of, and consider how good your life is. I know your life is not perfect without your Sidewinder, but it will get to you.

Myself and others have been throwen into the regular production line thats what . We suppose to get ours Dec.31st and they are on the shelves in January and thats pre-order ?? I freaking dont think so , especially leading us on about delivery next time if there is a next time be open and truthful , YOUR NOT GETTING IT TILL PRODUCTION STARTS . So read between the lines if that helps and fill in the blanks also . I'm pissed and I don't give a rip what anybody thinks .

Who would have ever belived  that NAA  didn't put you right at the very front pf the line. You got screwed big time. First one would most likely have the most bugs in it and that should be yours. It would be only fair now, that if they give you the last one  maybe a little dinged and out of time. Make it a true collectors item.
I would suggest being you didn't get the first one, its already lost half its value, so just send it to me  for half price and I will take the beating that you deserve for ordering it in the first place.

OV-1D

Thats the damest thing I don't give a dam about serial numbers I just want my dam gun I per-ordered . It's the dam put off I'm pissed about , on and on and on , bullsh*t . Crap or get off the pot just don't keep saying something you know you don't mean , period .

It is what it is, a preorder is getting the gun before they sell it to distributors, that is what is happening.  You can't expect NAA to wait to start regular production if they are ready to go?  We got the first guns that's all you can ask.  As far as hold ups, that is the manufacturing world.  I am sure they would like it to all go smoothly as well but in the real world nothing happens that way.  We are in front of the line, wait soon to be over.  Better than calling the distributor and being put on another list?

jupiter7

No lumps OV. You're still getting an Early bird.

I agree, it is what it is.
Those feeling bitten may have the opportunity to feel twice shy should there be another EB offering.

When someone appears less patient or less understanding than we think he should be, we should remember that we are totally unaware of the stresses in his life.  Death, illness, marital problems, health issues, work problems, fear of where we are being lead by the evil government, can cause any of us the react more strongly to a situation than we normally would.  We will all benefit from being more patient and understanding of others even when may disagree strongly with them.
God bless,

I too would like to (reverting to the initial topic before it was hijacked) thank Sandy and the team at NAA for another wonderful offering. I have yet to be notified of my lottery draw for my early bird Sidewinder and in the past 90 days I have had to bury my Mother, deal with Insurance Companies who claim there is no Claim file on her Life Insurance Policies, sell off a LOT of very near and dear family heirlooms and all but 4 of my NAA Minis (Which I took great joy in owning) to pay the relentless bill collectors, Mortuary and Cemetery fees and Monument Company. I've also had to tell my 17 year old Daughter and my soon to be 14 year old Daughter that (Birthday) Christmas is going to be spread thin this year. So, with all that is going on in my life, I ask one simple question of 0v-1d.......Can you possibly accept the fact that you cannot control that which is not directly before you and go with the flow?

PRE-Orders, by definition, is a standing order for an item that is not yet in production, but is being promised by the manufacturer to the distributor/individual when it becomes available. This does not effect OUR Early Bird Sidewinders in the least. We ARE at the front of the line. Not ONE Sidewinder will be shipped to any distributors before our orders are filled. Making a fuss over something you took out of context has taken this topic from a Thank You to Sandy and his team and has made it a mockery of your tirades. I was always taught to listen twice as hard as I spoke, so I wouldn't make an ass of my self. But that's just me.

Your cool ! Good words !

Zippo,  Next time you have to sell off your minis, I'll buy them and sell them back to you whenever you want at the same price.  You pay the shipping

From reading some of the replies, it sounds like a few folks are having problems with OV-1D's replies.
I have found the solution to that!!!!
Put him on your ignore list and his comments don't show up.

Just some friendly advice from someone who has purchased quite a number of Early Bird editions: if we complain too much about NAA's generosity in providing a method for us to obtain their new models, I'm pretty sure the Early Bird programs will end.

Would you guys rather fight the distributors to grab one of the early models, or do you like the guarantee that you'll get yours before distributors do?

Please don't ruin things for the rest of us. I'm frustrated, too, but as someone above said, it is what it is. And I'll add my opinion that: it's better than the alternative.

I was worrying about the same thing.
I appreciate very much the opportunity to buy early and straight from the factory.
If it were practical, I would give up my Sidewinders to a couple of the whiners just to shut them up.
I wouldn't blame or be upset with Sandy and the Crew at NAA if they did stop the Early Bird Specials.

They are great Folks doing the best that they can and for people to cut on them for not being as prompt as they think they should is a rotten shame.

After all most of the whiners don't have any money tied up in the minis.
They are just waiting for it to show up on the plastic.

Wahoo! I just got a call from Jessica at NAA to say that my credit card was expired! Well, actually, that's not the WAHOO--the REAL wahoo is that my sidewinders are going out today! I didn't even realize that I had received a new card since I ordered, but I got that cleared up.

So, I'll either get them tomorrow, if the shipping is quick enough to go the 20 miles to my dealer, or on Tuesday, since my dealer is closed on Mondays, so he can be open on Saturdays. I've waited months for these, though--I can wait until Tuesday.

So, the Sidewinders ARE getting out, guys, so be patient a little longer....

CavScout

I suggest doing as I did... send an email response to Sandy's Soapbox (link at the bottom of the article). Let him know how you really feel, and give your opinion on any improvements to the process.

As one of the first 20, I'm obviously very happy with my first Early Bird experience. My only suggestion was offering an "Order Status" like other online vendors , so active orders could be verified.

There's an old adage in retail sales... Every happy customer will tell one person. Every unhappy customer will tell ten people. So, it's an uphill battle to get enough "good words" to management in order to keep popular offerings available. We've all seen that jewel disappear, and wonder why they stopped making it.

True that, Cav. I don't think we had that many buyers for the first NAA Early Bird deal, which was the for Guardian .380. I think the problem may have become that everybody DID tell their friends, such that by this last deal, NAA got almost 200 orders. :) We need to NOT think of that as a bad thing, although it apparently has introduced delays into the program, which weren't there for earlier (and less successful) deals. Perhaps that's the real issue.

Anyway, I notified my dealer to expect them soon, and he said he has changed his business hours to be closed on Saturdays and open on Mondays. Perfect! So I'm pretty sure I'll have mine on Monday. I'll post an update when I pick them up! :)

Zippo, I'm in the exact same boat. Sorry to hear about your mom. The last 90 days have been tough here too. It's going to be a difficult Christmas for us. God bless you and your family.

Congrats, Collector! Good to know that the Sidewinders really are coming out of the factory!

ikoiko

I sent Sandy an email also in support of the EB program.

CavScout

Something else to keep in mind...

NAA is a manufacturer with a full product line to support. There have been various threads here about certain models being scarce at the distributors. Production schedule has to adapt to maintain reasonable availability, so there isn't loss of interest for potential customers.

Last I heard the factory is still operating with less than 50 employees. Adding an additional product into the schedule, especially a new design, will surely have start-up issues beyond pre-planning. Mr. Murphy seems to be on payroll everywhere!  :)
