RevisionCV Grips

Just picked up a set of RevisionCV G-10 grips for my Black Widow. Like the feel but there's just a slight wiggle with them.
Made sure the grips were set correctly on the frame and that the screw was tight. Then noticed an old pair of wood grips I picked up years ago also had a slight wiggle.

I don't think it's a critical issue but any tips on getting the grips to fit snuggly and remove the wiggle? Or is it just one of those things to get used to and ignore?

Seems I remember someone said a piece or two of electrical tape on the back will snug things up?

I think they include a "How to" directions packet with their grips.

It's normally a single wrap around the back strap before putting the grips on.

I too remember the electrical tape trick.  Reminds me, I need to do that to one pair!

I'll check the packaging again, but don't remember any documentation.
Will try the electrical tape.

Thanks.

The "How To" piece of paper was squirreled away at the bottom of the shipping envelope.
One wrap of electrical tape did the trick. No more wiggle.

I didn't know the electric tape trick was part of the official directions. I thought one of our ingenius members figured it out. :)

The official word is to create a shim if you have wiggle in your grips by wrapping paper, electrical tape or teflon tape (plumber's tape) on the backstrap of the pistol. Electrical tape seemed to be the easiest option.

I guess there's enough variation in frame size between the models that there is bound to be some give here or there. Glad there's an easy fix. Really like the feel of CV grips. Thinner and a tad shorter than Thing Meister (nice grips as well) which fits my hands better.

Now a black DGL holster to go with it and you will have a really awesome setup. 🕷👍🏻

But Teflon tape is going to be less mess when you take it off ;)

I thought about that but couldn't find any around the house. May swap it out after I make a run to the hardware store.

Now THAT is a proper Black Widow!

Very sweet looking widow,

Where? I'll ask her out for coffee! . ;)

Since G10 is a plastic, you can safely remove any tape sticky with naptha, or sometimes just rubbing alcohol.Even Goo Gone.

Wish I?d thought of that!
Another easy way to remove tape residue, or bumper stickers is with WD40.

Your Widow looks great with those grips!

Glad the grips worked out for you. The all black on a Black Widow is a nice look.

Received my RevisionCV grips today and stuck them on the missus' new/old BW. She really likes the way they fit. Now she's bugging me to go shooting so she can try out her BW.

I'm pretty tickled because she's not a real fan of my Earl's grips, and the original BW grips didn't exactly ring her bell. I'm kind of envious because I like their fit, too, but I don't think the RevisionCVs would look good on the Earls.

I put a little drop of hot glue in a couple of places and quickly put the grips back on.

I like the looks of it a lot!

You may not need it but should have it.
