What part of your trigger finger do you use?

Hi I have huge hands i guess is because I?m 7 foot tall 365. I?ve been experimenting on which part of the trigger finger works best for me on my new Ranger II. I find it more accurate to use the pad of my finger but after a while it starts to hurt from the heavy squeezing of the trigger. I noticed that my 1980?s vintage NAA mini has a much lighter trigger pull and the trigger is larger in size and when hammer is cocked the trigger protrudes out more making it much easier to shoot.

When my wife was first dry-firing her Black Widow, she told me the serrations on the trigger were too sharp. I spent a few minutes "removing the sharp" with some fancy little doodads in a Dremel, but you could easily do the same with a needle file or sandpaper.

I've done the same to the hammers as well as the triggers on the NAAs I actually shoot (or dry-fire) much.

OLD and GRUMPY

I got the big hands problem also. For me the question is not accuracy at the range but will it fire if I need to defend my self. I have 3 minis now. Super Companion (mag frame), Mag frame mini and LR frame mini. When I grab and point the mag frames all is good. But the LR is so small that when I grab it fast the trigger falls in a finger joint and will not pull. She also gets lost in my hand. If my hands were cold, numb  or wet It would be bad. Practice with a grip you can repeat fast with out thinking.
Death before Decaf !!!!!

Thanks for your response, that?s the issue I?m having fumbling with the mini in my hand till I find the right angle where my finger fires the gun.

I use the pad of my finger and pull more downward rather than straight back. Seems to work better for me with spur type triggers.

I'm not a fan of any trigger that isn't smooth to the touch of my trigger finger pad. If you don't trust yourself with a Dremel, a gunsmith can smooth it out for around $20-$25. Worth it IMHO. Keep in mind however that voids the warranty.
You may not need it but should have it.
