Hurting the wallet Unc , I've taken up my coin collection again and behold talk about hurting . You guys would not believe what fifty cent pieces are going for especially commemoratives coins . You need a gun to buy them . ;) ;) ;) ;) ;)

How about 1964 silver dollars?
How about 1942 silver dollars?
they did not make a 1942 silver dollar, they did start to make silver dollars on 1964 but stopped due to silver price starting to be higher than a dollar and ordered all coins destroyed, and also made them illegal to possess,it's rumored a few escaped the mint but if you have one your going to prison supposedly,so I hope you do not have a 1964 silver dollar uncle Lee,worth a lot to the right collector, but highly illegal.i used to be highly into coin collecting as a kid, teenager, and into my 20's and it kinda faded out,I still buy now and then but more into my cars and my minis now days

ov-1d I responded when you talking about getting rid of some minis with no response from you do you still have some to get rid of, I have some coins with no attachment I could trade, is there anything in particular you are looking for? Did you collect any of the prestige proof sets made in-between 1984- 1997 they usually have a clad commerative half and a sliver commerative dollar I have the whole set run and I think I'm one or two short of a second set,but my coin collection takes up five or six times more space than my gun collection, yes I'm a collector/ hoarder of many things....but let me know if you are interested I was very interested in your guns when I reached out to you

Thanks Naa yesterday we were told the rental across the street has a roof leak GO FIGURE . This is after city water was put in and the sleeve fitting slipped off and started to fill the house up . Thats just one of five immediate problems that need fixing . One of the best Firestone mechanics misdiagnosed our Yukon saying it was a water pump when it was a freeze plug had it changed out (Water pump) wife drove the car part way home before it overheated due to lack of coolant , it started with a very small water leak and I mean small , going to them religiously for thirty years for everything and they are deigning any responsibility for all the seals blown and having the aluminum head shaved due to overheating so on and so forth (how does anyone miss a freeze plug for a water pump) ,DIRTBAG OUTFIT . This is just three of the expensive headaches I've got going right now . Enough sharing thanks again , later .   >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(

I'm still waiting to hear back from Smith and Wesson. My 340sc .357 developed gouges in the scandium frame under the forcing cone and it may also have a slight crack. They have had the gun since Jan 17th telling me it may be 5-7 weeks for an answer once examined. Many people tell me they will most likely replace the gun since I'm the original owner. I bought the gun to have a .357 for CCW but found it was not up to the task apparently. Looks like it's time to get a 640 or 640 Pro all stainless. I also have a 442 .38+P rated airweight that has been second fiddle to the 340 so that will be my pocket carry. I've had all steel j frames in the past and have pocket carried them as well. We'll see what happens once they contact me.

I don't know if u seen any of my other posts ov-1d but I almost lost the wheel off of my wife's Yukon 2 days ago in another state and it started fire,I fixed it and was back on the road a few hours later, but I know it ain't knocked u down permanently, but rough patches in life do suck I feel like I'm in a rut I can't get out of....and sorry I didn't mean for my bad luck to rub off onto you

Please do fellas those prayers are needed right now believe me . I have never ever had been in such a run of bad luck every and it isn't stopping anytime soon it seems .. Can't catch a break anywhere we turn . I picked a terrible time to finally retire due to body falling apart ,ha .
I gotta run this by you guys sorry its kinda long , the Yukon had a very minor water drip took it to Firestone repair shop we've been using for thirty years religiously they said it was a water pump (which was changed out one year ago mind ya) so we had them change it out . Picked it up and drove about two miles before the wife smelt something burning . called them at Firestone and was told to bring it back . They said it needed fluid so off she went again didn't get back home till it totally overheated . Had it towed back to them this time and they said they couldn't help so they had it towed to another mechanic (that use to work for them before) . This guy sees the freeze plug was rotted out and called Firestone to ask what moron diagnosed the vehicle . All the seals were blown pertaining to the head which now needed shaving because of warp from overheating . Well this guy fixed it all for a tidy sum but the kicker is Firestone refuses all responsibly for the damage . This was the first of my setbacks . What should I do guys got any good recourses . Been up and down the chain of command with this outfit to no avail .

If you have to, maybe small claims court. No attorneys so no big expense. Should be able to get back the cost of the work done if you have a decent case.

At first Rogue they offered to give back the money for the work they DID DO but not on the second call to them then it was total denial of any wrong doings . I'm going full out on this one till the fat lady sings and small clains which a total of about four and a half grand I don't think is small claims .. The saga continues . ::) ::) ::)

I went to a little gun show yesterday. I was not looking
for something new, just window shopping. You never
know when you might find a screaming deal.

I have read on here they are kind of scarce right now.
That is kind of what made me desire one.
So your guys influence, makes you enablers.
I will snap some pics soon cause what is the motto
(Everyone loves pics).
The Black Powder guns look like fun!  I haven't "acquired" one yet  ;) but I'm always on the hunt  :)

You did a "good thing" relieving that poor woman of that gun! Think of it as a "donation" to a lonely widow.

Like Uncle_Lee always says "NAA's are like potato chips, you can't stop at one"

So we keep hunting. To help those widows by purchasing their dearly departed's NAA's

See... This is the stuff is GOLDEN! This should be taught to young men so when they get married they have it practiced already for when they come home with a new gun!

Now... What are you going to carry this "new" gun with?  lol!! I know a guy  ;)

Congrats on the new acquisition! Photos soon!

I thought you had the hots for your .25 pistols?

I want a .22 LR Guardian....I want a .22 LR Guardian.....I want a .22 LR Guardian.....

Me too! That or a NAA rework of the Baby Browning in 22!

That .22 Baby idea sounds good. PSA is so deep into Babys, I'm surprised they haven't done it.

One negative, if you look at an exploded view of a Baby it's more complicated than a Guardian. More parts and several odd shaped springs IIRC. NAA could possibly simplify it.

There have been several attempts at producing a Baby Browning clone in .22 LR.
None of them worked.
It's possible that the gun could be made in .22 long or short, but not LR.

bearcatter

I wouldn't have thought that. .22 Long and Long Rifle are the same length, which is just a pinch longer than the .25. Maybe just the wrong company tried it.

The case length is the same, but the LR is  longer overall.
Quite a few pistols were made in .25 and either .22 long or short. Galesi, Beretta, Bernardelli, Astra, and more. The LR is too long to work in a .25 action. Galesi, Beretta, and Astra did make a .22 LR pistol. All of them were/are larger than the .25.

True, but Astra made a copy for Colt (and themselves) in .22 Short.  Might have to find one as a placeholder until NAA comes through!

Not much, .975 and .800. I had thought they matched.

I'd like to see them downgrade one gun and make a .22LR Guardian. I've been wishing that for 4 years. I've got a pile of 2-6 cpr .22 and would rather practice shoot it instead of my 60 cpr .32 ACP. I rarely shoot my Guardians because of ammo cost and iffy availability.
The purpose of a small gun is CC-SD. I'd be thrilled to see a Guardian in .22WMR but LR seems pointless to me.

Uncle_Lee

Welcome ChristTrekker,
Good to see new folks. That is how I pick up ideas and food for thought.

On the useless nature of the 22 LR, ask anyone who died from being shot with a 22 LR.
There lots of them.
