Her last post was in November, but I think she still like us a little bit. Her profile shows she was lurking yesterday morning... :)

She?s still around, quietly doing nice things for us. Thanks again, Jessica.
Deplorable before deplorable was cool.

We love you Jessica :)

We hear Jessica is working on getting the Custom Shop to develop a threaded barrel for the Guardians.  ::)

Guardians most definitely need to have a threaded barrel.  8)

Then Rick can make a few bucks on Guardian holsters with the extra length or with silencer pockets.

I can't picture how they would work. The barrel is an integral part of the frame, basically square. It would require a new frame to extend the barrel, and would the threaded part be strong enough?

An effective can would be as long as the gun and maybe double the weight. Size and weight would be a negative on carry.

I think this is it:

Yes on length; not very likely on weight. These Guardians are heavy and a good can is very light. The addition of a can is not so much for carry. It is more for .............. special "occasions."  ::)

PS: Somebody quite some time ago signed in for a short amount of time and showed a photo of his Guardian he had worked on and adapted to take a can. It is doable.  8)

I had gunsmith thread the inside of a S&W .22a

By using an adapter to thread into the barrel (reverse threads) then the suppressor threads are exposed.

That might be an option if the barrel sides are thick enough on the Guardian's  :)

Did a little bit of searching and found the photos of the Guardian SD. It used, as Rick stated above, an adapter internally threaded to the Guardian with external threads for the can.

The S&W 422 and its variants use the same method

bearcatter

Once you subtract the depth of the threads in the barrel. that doesn't leave much steel. Shooting without the adapter, the bullet contacting the threads is going to make a mess, and maybe affect accuracy, what little you already have. I like mine just fine even if they are a "little" loud ...  ;D

I'm just guessing that "Precision Accuracy" would be affected by a suppressor. (like shooting in the same hole multiple times) but, "self defense" accuracy should not suffer much. JMHO

The adapter stays screwed in the end of the barrel and is smooth on the I.D.

The adapter is only threaded in about the last 1/2" of the barrel. If enough material was removed to accommodate the threads + thickness of the adapter even if it was removed I would think a .22 round would bypass the opening without hitting the threads?

If it did hit the threads there are some other issues with the gun and/or ammo?

Someone with more experience than I might chime in if I'm incorrect.

bearcatter

Did you mean to say .32 round?

Leaving the adapter installed would negate the barrel thread issues. You could put a stainless thread protector on to save the adapter threads, and it would look good too.

I was referring to my S&W .22A that I had done.

I thought you were talking about the inner threads messing up the bullet on the way out. Yes, an outer thread protector will protect the outside threads.

It would be the same for a Guardian that had the barrel threaded, in any caliber .25NAA, .32NAA, .32ACP or .380ACP (I have all 4  ;))
Rick Jorgenson

bearcatter

Oh okay. The 22 A was a few posts back, about two posts farther than my memory ... ::) ... I was thinking the inner threads could scrape the bullet, and the threads could collect some copper.

First and foremost, thank you OV, and everyone else! I love and appreciate each and everyone of you! I lurk every so often as I have to approve post's, but man have I been busy!  As for the changes to the Guardian... I think someone is spreading rumors ;) there are definitely not any changes being made to the Guardian line (sorry to disappoint). BUT, I am hoping to get the custom shop, along with custom serial number orders up and running again (fingers & toes crossed).

I can't believe I've been around this place for 15 years! I started out as the receptionist, my daughter was 4 when I started, I've had a baby, who is now 10, I got married at the same time I was promoted to Sales Manager 5+ years ago and the last 2 years I've taught myself marketing. I've literally grown up with this company.  I love this industry, but most of all I love this company and all of my customers!

Thanks again for the shout out! You guys are the best! Just know, I'm always watching. ;) <3

Yours truly,
Jessica <3

1. I'm glad that somebody loves and appreciates me ...  ::)
2. I'm perfectly happy with my Guardians the way they are.... :)
3. You can actually cross your toes? ...  ;D
4. Fifteen years, I'm sure you're just as lovely as the first (you haven't graced us with a photo for a while). ...  :(
5. Some of us are in serious need of observation ...  :-X
