Shot a few rounds today. One pic is from other day, one is today.

.

What was the distance to the target ?
Be careful if you follow the masses - Sometimes the M is silent

camo

Distance was 5 yards. I can do pretty good to about 7 yards, but when I move to 10 yards, seems like I do good to hit the paper.

camo

I very seldom shoot past 10 yards, but I decided to shoot from 15 just to see where I'd hit. This was free handed from 15 yards. Don't know if I could do this again. The small holes were shot from other side of cardboard with shot shells.

Uncle_Lee

Looks like you are doing pretty darn good.
In time, the pattern will shrink.

Now try the other hand.
There may come a time that you need it.

I don't know. Some days I'm doing good if I shoot that group at 10 yards. Sometimes even at 5 yards.

camo

Most times I use shotshells on rattlesnakes.

I didn't know I was gonna shoot more than 5 shots. So not all from 7 yards. First few rounds were from 7 yards, than rolled forward and shot some from 5 yards, than walked up to as close as I want to get to a big rattlesnake, about 6 feet, and shot last 2 rounds. All except the last two shots were sitting in UTV, and shooting over steering wheel.

RogueTS1

Looks like some pretty good shooting.  :)

Camo,
I agree with Rogue. Pretty good shooting.

The B/W is my edc, and as long as it is the only one I shoot, I get to be pretty consistent. But when I shoot my M&P .22 compact for a few days and then go back to B/W, it's almost like I forgot how to shoot.

Uncle_Lee

I wouldn't want to be the snake you were shooting at.

uncle lee, shot with the other hand today. 4 shots just to see how I would do. Still two handed, but used left hand.

Uncle_Lee

Done pretty darn good.
A person needs to use both hands.

I need to be up front with you. I probably fudged a little shooting left handed. I really did shoot left handed, but I do some things right or left handed. Shooting is one, although I haven't shot left handed in a long time.

camo

The 8 holes all spread out was one handed at a pretty fast pace. Actually shot 9 times. One missed paper. The last 5 shots was close range. It was hot and muggy today. Gonna soon be to hot to be shooting much.

camo

Here's the reason I always practice a few shots at rattlesnake range. I was cutting grass today.

bearcatter

I've shot copperhead snakes before, with a .30-30. I don't know if I'd trust using a mini. My preferred snake gun would be a full auto 12 gauge. ..  ;D

I don't like getting that close either. Used a hoe many times. My dad could hardly walk, and it didn't bother him a bit using his old wood walking stick.

Cats take care of the rats. My son has spent time in hospital twice from being bit. First time for a week and almost didn't make it. Second time just couple days. I been bit twice, rattlesnake and rat snake. Lucked up with rattlesnake, no problems, the rat snake I got sick. The rat snakes I leave alone, but the rattlesnakes, I relocate.

I agree with you on the 410. Most times when I'm in the UTV, I have my 410 in the gun rack. On the mower, it's the B/W.

Bearcatter runs into the house but cannot find his full auto 12 gauge and grabs the next best thing in his mind, then comes storming back outside spraying and praying!  ;D

1.5 seconds later, "Well; I've aerated the lawn .................. but did I hit the snake?"

Shot 8 rounds yesterday before falling down. I seem to fall pretty often these days. Summer is here. It's already hot. I don't shoot near as much during the summer. My range is in the shade most of the day, but with no breeze, it's still hard to enjoy shooting.

Another scenario : Bearcatter grabs his 9MM runs outside and is taken down by the local SWAT team and the snake escapes unharmed not even knowing just what fate it avoided . Besides it was a harmless Garter snake chasing a small mouse named "Mickey" . Oh by the way there were thirty seven bullet holes in old Bearcatter but whos counting .  ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;)

I don't have a 9 mm and I know what a Garter Snake looks like. You're calling me "old Bearcatter"?  You got that right, but at least I'm only 66! ..  I might make it to 67 .... ;D

Nothing to brag about, but took a picture anyway. I shot a few rounds at 15 yards, few at 10 yards, and then finished at 5 yards. Standing free handed. I need to start looking at some of your pictures because its about to get to hot for me to be shooting much.

camo

Glad I've gotten better shooting the B/W.
