Well its good to get that all put away in perspective and even a DULL pencil can also kill . Ha ,Ha ,Ha .   Who said the pen is mightier than the sword which is another perspective all its own .  ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;)

I agree that Coppertop's reply about the .22 short is irresponsible and just plain wrong.

Any cartridge can fail to stop. I know a man who was shot in the chest with a 12 gauge at 10 feet. He ran 35 yards and lived.

Getting shot in the chest with a short MIGHT sting, or it MIGHT drop them like a rock. Regardless, idiotic comments like his should not be made, as OTHER idiots read them and take them as gospel.

The .22 short can kill. It can kill instantly. Or, it can fail like any other cartridge.

Never said the 22 short cannot kill. I did say placement was everything. I also said that I didn't fault anyone for carrying a 22 short.

And I saw what I saw. Grown man shot in the chest and abdomen multiple times with a 22 short standing around with the only sign of getting shot being the blood on his t-shirt. Believe or not, at this point I could care less.

I'm also tired of being called an idiot. You don't have to agree with anything I post, but you discuss it and in the end if we still disagree, that's okay. Making it personal only pisses someone off and I have the urge to tell you to go get screwed. If the forums have gotten to the point where personal attacks are acceptable, then I may need to rethink things.

You guys have a good evening.

My wife calls me an idiot every once in a while. It makes me mad as all get out, but I don't leave her for it.

Thank you, Unk.

I realize that .22 Short is the least effective cartridge in production, but that doesn't mean it's not effective. Being small is a carry advantage for some, and it minimizes bystander risk. Better than being too effective. I'd carry .22 Short over .357 or .45. My choice of .32 is because of ignition, not caliber. A centerfire .22 would be okay for me.

I didn't know it was going to get that ugly.
If I did, it would have been hot peppers instead of popcorn.
The only one that I remember going down like this was glenn.

Hard to say it's all good in the end when you have characters like heyjoe around.
Not going off the rail and my apologies for ruining the popcorn, but there's no call for this nonsense.
Maybe Joe didn't take his meds, but it's a shame that someone can't discuss things without being a douche.

And my wife calls me an idiot at times too and wouldn't leave her for that either. But she at least has the backbone to discuss the matter.

Placement is everything.
That's why if you choose to carry a .22 short, it should be accurate.
I suggest a Walther OSP.

top dog

Chute,
Wow,I have not seen a Walther OSP for some time!!!  Super gun.

Bearcatter,
I agree with you. The mini is with me more times than the larger pieces. And I feel I am well protected.

Plus I use the awarness/avoidance method of self defense. If I see an iffy situation,I avoid it.

Uncle Lee,
Be prepared for some sticker shock if.when you do see one.

Plus,I don't think they make any standard velocity 22 shorts anymore which is what that pistol was designed for.

Believe it or not, being that the OSP has the magazine well in front of the trigger guard and now within the grip.....it is  listed as an assault weapon in some states and is banned.

You just cannot make this stuff up.

I will stick with my NAA 22 short, besides,it packs in the pocket much easier that the OSP.

I would never shoot it, just rub it, pet it, take pictures of it and put it in a shoe box.
I like "different".

Uncle Lee,
Different it sure is. But..............................like the minis,if you put it in the shoe box,it will multiply.
