Does anyone know if the ?true? Black Widow is actually cerakoted, or just PVD coated?  I have seen it advertised both ways.  I thought Cerakote was supposed to be very wear resistant, but the black coating on my 3 month old gun already shows wear around the sharp edges and from where the cylinder bolt drags on the cylinder.

PVD is extremely wear resistant.
Cerakote is paint.

To me, putting any finish on stainless makes as much sense as my great-uncle painting his redwood sided house white.

I agree.  I would have preferred the stainless steel finish, but the black was all I could find locally.  I may buy a stainless model later if I can find one so I can have a set!

Or painting brick houses white. It's all the rage now.

And it's near impossible to remove. ..  :(

And in ten years someone will be using a whole lot of words that will get you banned here trying to remove the white paint when red brick is back in style ::)
