Sidewinder stiffness

Picked up the Sidewinder I had on order this morning. It feels as if it has a little more heft to it than my standard NAA 22WMR.
Not enough to weight you down but noticeable in the feel.

The one thing that surprised me was how tight the cylinder pin was. Could not budge it with my fingers and had to use a plastic shim to depress the spring and get the cylinder open. Then it was tight as crap getting the cylinder back in place. I'm hoping this all loosens up after a few uses, but expected the cylinder release to be a bit smoother.

I like it and it's a nice addition to my NAA line-up. But to be honest, if things don't loosen up, the original NAA design is easier to reload.

Next up... save a bit and find a NAA Ranger II.

coppertop,  I have two sidewinders and both of them are like that.  After using them a few times I gave up.  I developed arthritis in my hands and that makes it impossible to shoot them.  :(

After tinkering with the Sidewinder for a bit this afternoon, the cylinder is opening a little easier. I just have to keep reminding myself this isn't a gun that I'll run 100 rounds through at the range or attempt to speed reload. Concentrate on making the most of the five rounds in the cylinder.

Also... has anyone bent the ejector rod on the Sidewinder while seating the cylinder? Looks like its taking a lot of stress as you pop the cylinder back in place.

Still... no regrets on the purchase. It was a heck of a deal and fills one of the voids in my NAA collection.

REmember now if closing the cylinder and rod if it becomes too tight check if the tip of the shaft started unscrewing itself it happened to myself . Used thread lock putting it back on  ,all better . Thats one thing about these mini's stainless steel when heated up considerably will tighten or loosen here and there . :)
TO ARMS , TO ARMS the liberal socialists are coming . Load and prime your weapons . Don't shoot till you see their UN patches or the Obama bumper stickers , literally . And shoot any politician that says he wants to help you or us .

That?s never happened with my Sidewinder. Everything on mine opens and closes smoothly and with just a little effort, and has done so from the beginning. I think if it were mine I?d have to give NAA a call about it.
Deplorable before deplorable was cool.
