New Sidewinder Troubles

I finally was able to get out and shoot my new Sidewinder 4 inch barrel mag only. I was super excited,  but oh so disappointed. I fired three rounds and on every shot, the cylinder popped open. I unloaded the cylinder, did a visual inspection, couldn't see anything obvious, loaded the cylinder, fired another shot and same thing. What the heck?!?!?

Has anyone experienced this or heard of this?

.

Sounds like you need to call NAA Customer Service, to have a look at the latching set-up.

It eventually loosened up after about 20 rounds. Just needed a little use.
I do wish it was smoother though. Maybe make the textured part of the extraction rod a little thicker.

Its has to be kicking out of the rear cylinder pin recess hole first for it to disengage from a firing shot . You 100 % sure its locked in on the forward side ? Make sure the forward button is tight fitting (good spring pushing forward) . Myself I've though it to be in place but no cigar as they say . Spin it in place after you think its closed OR check to see if shaft is bent slightly , that would keep it from setting properly up front . ;) ;).......... Elementary my Dear Watson . ;) ;)    Once when new I had the other problem of it not wanting to close and seat . After monkeying around I found the knurled tip was unscrewing itself from the shaft right out of the box . Locktight (thread lock) fixed that . GET IT DONE !!!!!

OV... could you post a pic of the area that was unscrewing? I can't see anything on mine that can loosen or is screwed on (other than the screw that seats the cylinder).

I had the gun for a couple weeks before taking to the range. Spent every evening getting to know the mechanics of the gun and just getting a good feel for every detail.

I gave it another quick inspection at the range. Each time the cylinder popped open I made sure I closed it properly and securely.

After the third round, I unloaded the cylinder and gave it another thorough inspection (best I could at the range). Loaded it up again, and same thing on the fourth round, so I threw in the towel and went home.

Calling NAA Monday morning.

Sorry Copper np pics . The forward end of the cylinder rod has that knurled end on it to keep form slipping in your fingers . It snaps into the barrel seat under the barrel end with that spring loaded tip .  The knurled tip is I'm talking about sometimes not tight and unscrewing from the cylinder shaft . Can't explain it in anymore detail  than that .

No worries. Here are pictures of mine. The collar that sits on the cylinder pin looks like it's pinned into position. The entire assembly rotates but the collar (the textured part) doesn't budge independently.

The action has improved a good bit but still surprised NAA didn't come up with a smoother operation. Then again, my next day designing revolvers will be my first.

That pin only holds the push button assy. in place . The shaft is still screwed on its own . . Good picture by the way . ;)
