Shot a few rounds today. All at 12'  Top picture is BW and cci standard velocity, 2nd picture is cci quiets from BW, and bottom is LCP .22 shooting blazer HV.

top dog

Camo,
That is very nice. Glad to see that you got some trigger time in at your range.

It seems that I always rotate back to my BW for EDC. It just seems to fit   "just right"

I don't know why either. I like the LCP .22, and can carry it almost as easy as the BW. I'll carry it for a day or so and sometimes a few days, but then I go back to the BW. If the Ranger ll had BW type sights, I would seriously consider one of them in the 2.5" But don't know if I could pay the price.

top dog

Camo,
I tend to agree with you on that.

Today, being that I had received security alerts for possible problems at Church for Easter Sunday Services,I will put away the BW and do outer security with my Charter 44,Bod Arms 44 and Mossberg Shock-Wave 12 ga.

Slightly off thread but it seems that some group of jerks want to do something stewpid to spoil everything.

Thats today's society it seems so many want to be recognized and for the most grievous of acts . There isn't enough jailhouse to house the incoming daily from around the country . I suggest lobotomies on most . 8) 8).
TO ARMS , TO ARMS the liberal socialists are coming . Load and prime your weapons . Don't shoot till you see their UN patches or the Obama bumper stickers , literally . And shoot any politician that says he wants to help you or us .

is that a general alert nationwide or specific to your area? as part of my job in the fire department i used to receive those alerts and disseminate them within the organization.
It's too bad that our friends cant be here with us today

top dog

HeyJoe,
The alert was pretty much nationwide anmd considered to be genuine and serious.

But.........google this         Churches attacked  in US            it is an eye opener/

Now the heavy stuff is put away and now I am going around in comfort with the BW.

Today, it was all the BW. The bottom picture are all at 12'. Left is shooting SV and right is HV. This is about as good as it gets for me shooting.  The top target is at 10 yds. I think the first 2 shots missed to the right.

top dog

Camo,
That is lookingh pretty good.  Glad to see that you are getting in some trigger time.

Our outdoor range opens next week after the winter shut down so I will be able to go once or twice a week.

camo

Top dog,
I know you'll be glad to be able to shoot. Maybe other folks on here will be able to shoot more. Take pictures. I want to see pictures besides mine. Y'all probably tired of seeing my pictures. I usually don't shoot the BW past 7 yds. I just decided to see how I would do at 10 yds.

top dog

Camo,
I set up my targets at about 10 feet or less which is realistic SD distance.

As I had said befpre,NYPD did an extensive study of SD shootings (both police and citizens)  over a ten year period of time. It showed that virtually all were less than 21 feet with the vast majority 10 feet or less (usually 4 feet).

It is always good to see that folks get out and practice, hopefully often.

I hate to see folks go through all the trouble to get their permits, then don't continue to practice and worse not carry.

                                                                                                 Top Dog

camo

top dog,
10-12' seems to be my sweet spot with the BW.  I usually shoot my last couple rounds about 6-8' to stay in practice for rattlesnakes. I want be in the woods near as much  this summer, so hopefully want be seeing near as many rattlesnakes. I will shoot the BW at 10 yds  every now and then just to be doing it, but that's it. Anything much past that distance, I'd be better shooting a rifle.

LHB

My thoughts on shooting distance, just how long is your living room, or the hall from your bedroom?   If your living room is 18 feet, like mine, why do I need to worry about being able to hit a playing card at 75 feet, which is wider than the lot my house sits on, and if the target is further than that, I'm not going to try to take it on with any gun with a one- or two-inch barrel.

top dog

Camo,
That is a pretty good plan for defense against "buzzworms" Venomous snakes are few and far between up here but it is always comfortingg to know that you are prepared.

Biggest threat is basically from coyotes and "conflicts" with them have been on the rise.

LHB,
That is good thinking/planning on your part for sure.

I was a cop for 40 years and my basic thoughts are the best gunfight is the one you are not in.

If you see a situation develop, stay away and call the police.

                                                                Top Dog

camo

Gosh top dog, don't even get me started on coyotes. They really bad during calving season. They in the back yard about every night. Never shot one with the BW or LCP .22, always used the .22 rifle or shotgun. The rifle during day and the shotgun at night. Saying that, it's not like I shoot coyotes everyday. Very seldom ever get a clean shot at one.

top dog

Camo,
Around here about a year or so ago we had six people attacked by coyotes while walking their dogs. 3 dogs killed and 3 severely injured. And this is in suburbia not the woods.

Whenever I see posters up about missing Fidos or Fluffies,it is a sure sign of coyote activity.

Maybe the BW or LCP might not be the best choice for defense against coyotes but they will be more than likely the piece you have on you when, unfortunately,a situation takes place.

camo

top dog, you right about the BW might be what I have at the time. I use a walking cane more nowadays, and I've got to where I take the BW with me at night when I have to go out to check on anything. Used to always take the shotgun. I been cutting grass last couple days and  got it all cut for first time this year. Went behind house and shot the BW some. Think I shot 25 rounds. Anybody else been doing any shooting? Pretty soon, its gonna be to hot here to shoot much.

top dog

Camo,
The poutdoor range near me just recently opened after being closed for the winter.

So now I will go there about at least once a week.

As I had said many times before, the beauty of the minis is that they are with you when the larger pieces are back in the cabinet.

Also, the late Bill Jordan in his book   No Second Place Winner  praises the 22 magnum in a lightweight hideout gun.  Of course the book was first published before the minis came out and later S&W produced a lightweigh J frame in 22 magnum. Unfortunatley after Bill Jordan's passing.

Bill Jordan said that the 22 magnum was  "a wicked little cartridge"

Shot 10 rounds with the B/W today. All from 12'. Was thinking about shooting 5 rounds, then going to shop and cleaning it, then break out and carry my lcp .22 for a while. After shooting this group, I decided to keep carrying the B/W.

top dog

Camo,
Looks like you are nicely dialed in.  Good shooting!!!!

Nice shooting, Camo. I have been a bit remiss with my target shooting with my carry revolvers.

camo

It's something how I can hit all around that circle, but can't seem to get many inside it.

camo

Looking back to see when I posted last picture shooting the B/W. So without dates, I have no way of knowing when I posted last. Am I overlooking it? I don't remember when I posted that last picture.

I think we need to put a date at the top of our posts these days. I hate that there is no way to tell when a post was made.

I think we should just not use this forum

Putting the date at beginning may be good idea.

OV-1D,
Years ago Harrington & Richardson made a nice top break 22 revolver. I wish that they still did.

Maybe NAA will make a nice top break with a four inch bbl soon??

One can wish.

I think I'd rather have the 2.5" model. For the price though, I might have to just get another B/W.

top dog

Camo,
Another BW sounds nice to round out things.

For some reason I always seems to rotate back to my BW for EDC.

It is usually a toss up between the BW or OUG for EDC.

Yea we had a lot of fun here to bad they can't leave a good thing alone. I'll miss all you guys too. :'(

Shot both the LCP .22 and the B/W today. All at 5 yds. Finished off a box of cci standard velocity. Didn't keep track which target was shot with which gun. The LCP .22 cycled with no problems. Had the folding grip on B/W. After cleaning both, I put the stock B/W grips back on. Didn't shoot with them. Been a long time since I had them on. I like the folding grip, but like I think OG said, it hurts my finger when shooting several rds. Nothing to brag about, here's the picture.

top dog

Camo,
Looks like you did real well.

Glad all worked out OK.
