2 1/2" are all I shoot in my shotguns. So that sounds good for recoil.

Y'all probably remember I was looking at 410 derringers not long ago. But was still thinking about another BW or Mini Master. I want to be able to EDC what I get. That may harder to do with the mini master length wise, but a 410 derringer might be kinda heavy to tote. top dog, how would the Bonds derringer be to tote everyday. Y'all may have to talk me into it. Is a 410 handgun really worth having?

Colbray is NOT known for their light weight . Heavy oh yeah not for pocket carry . Like TopDog said Bond derringers would suit you better for carry but still on the little heavy side . Good luck with your choice .  ;) ;) ;)

Since I'm talking about a 410, maybe I should post next time in my 410 post from earlier. Going there to post now.

For some reason the LCP .22 don't like American eagle ammo. Duds pretty often. Sometimes will try the round a couple or 3 times and still don't fire. But what's interesting is I been throwing them rounds in the back of my Utv. Yesterday I shot the BW some, and just to be doing it, I rounded up the duds in back of Utv and tried them in BW. I think there was 7. They all fired in the BW. Ain't that something.

For those of you that own a version of the LCP in addition to the Black Widow, which one conceals in a pocket better? I just got the LCP a few months ago but it doesn't disappear in my pocket like I thought it would.
I'm definitely getting a new mini in the next month but I'm having a hard time deciding.
I really want to go with the Black Widow and perhaps but standard magnum or possibly boot grips on it to help it conceal better.
Is the Black Widow that much bigger than the mini magnum with 1 5/8 barrel? I may go in between the two and go with the Wasp. I really want to go with the Black Widow but if it's going to print like the LCP does I'd rathe4 have a smaller mini for the time being.

top dog

Shane,
The BW is not that much larger than the standard 1 5/8 in bbl magnum. I have my BW in a pocket holster and it basically disappears.

It comes down to basically what you are comfortable with.

I have an LCP in 380 and in a pocket holster or IWB holster ios too disappears.

Again it is what you are comfortabvle with.

I seem to always return to the BW.

Thanks Top Dog!
Sadly I almost got a BW about a month ago but decided to get a Rock Island 38 snubby instead. I got a refund for a gun that ended up being junk and couldn't decide what I wanted. I missed having a snubby and since I have a good supply of 38 on hand the Rock Island made sense. I don't regret the decision just wish I would have got the BW first since it was on sale. Could have got it for $250 now it'll be closer to $280-300 😞
I'm 99% sure I'm going with the BW but either way I miss having a mini in my collection so my next purchase will be an NAA forsure. Just waiting on Uncle Sam at this point 🤣.

I wear cargo pants almost all the time. Both conceal really well. The B/W moves in pocket more because of narrow holster. I have a plus 4 round extended grip on one of my LCP .22 magazines. Even with the extended grip, I don't have a problem with the LCP .22 concealing. I swap out carrying both. But like top dog, I seem to carry the B/W more.

top dog

Shane,
I hope that you can get a BW soon and,if possible, get one with the spare 22lr cylinder.

Came,
Yep,for some reason the BW is always with me.

We have a serious coyote problem here, even in suburbia.  Last year more than 6 folks were attacked while walking their dogs. Three peaople injured and 3 dogs killed.

This is crazy a lady living about half mile from me here in central east coastal Florida and she says she and her leashed dog were attacked by three coyotes . This I find hard to believe but I guess if I didn't see it I must say its true . Now we have wild hogs pushing three hundred pounds and bunches of little ones tearing up manicured lawns maybe a deer or two ,bobcats and all the small stuff but never ever seen a coyote or tracks even right across from were this woman lives from a nature state park . I myself we're backed up to this same park and never seen those wild hounds .Thankfully no pythons up this far YET .

It will really come down to what's available and what prices are. At least locally to me, most places are charging $75-100 more for the models with both cylinders. I may even just get the 22lr only version. Federal Punch is a good LR round and should serve my needs.
As for coyotes, they're bad everywhere! You can hear em howling all night out at my folks property.
The former governor of Texas once killed a coyote that tried to attack his dog with the 380 LCP. They even came out with a special edition that had Coyote Special stamped on it 🤣.
The NAA will be for when I absolutely can't carry something bigger or it will be back up to something bigger. The LCP is working out better than I thought it would but I still want another mini.

Bigbird48

I carry my BW in a pancake holster on my belt, t shirt keeps it concealed. I keep a LCP 380 in the car also.

top dog

Shane,
Even though the extra cylinder may be a bit more costly,it will save you money in the long run. However,if you get the 22lr version,;ater on you can send it to NAA to get fitted with a magnum cylinder.

Yep,when I heard about the Governor of Texas taking care of a coyote with an LCP.I went out and bought one.

Getting off thread here a bit. I may be planning a trip down to south FL to do some iguana hunting with a high end air rifle.

Think about it,Iguana hunting, snakehead fishing,Burmese pythons, venomous Monitor Lizards,a host of venoumous snakes..............my version of club med!!!

A good book to read       4 Seconds Until Imoact  by Bruce Buckshot Hemming    lots of true tails of all sorts of encounters.

Rogue,
That looks like a nice set up!!! I presume the caliber is 223/5.56? or 300 Whisper??

When ever I see more posters about missing Fidos & Fluffies,I know that there is some serious coyote activity.

I have a feeling that the coyotes in my area (New England) are crossbreeding with wolves or German Sheperds because they are 60+ lbs

I hope that you have great success in your coyote adventures.

Except for my deer rifles, I've been a .22 guy most of my life. .22 rifle has taken care of everything from snakes to coyotes. The coyotes have gotten worse these last several years. Lose a calf or two every year. For this part of the country, I've never felt I needed a bigger caliber. The good news though is as of last Spring, I'm out of the livestock business. No more cows. I've only been shooting handguns for just the last few years. I don't want to get close enough to a coyote with my B/W or, LCP .22, but if it happened, and I hit him in the right place, just like the rifle, either would put him down.

Shot 10 rounds thru the B/W yesterday at 10'. Shot left handed. Some one handed and some two handed. Looks like I goofed on the picture. It's same picture. Guess I wanted to make sure you saw it.

Yes Top Dog, it is in 5.56mm ................... The coyotes, at the farm, usually hide and keep away from us humans but once they started hooking up with the wild dogs they lost their fear of humans and a night time stroll through the fields better be accompanied by a long gun with plenty of ammo in it. A pack jumps one in the dark and it could get ugly fast.  :o

Rogue,
I agee with you 110% and glad that you are prepared just in case.

I went grocery shopping this morning and checked out the bulletin board there. Yup,a couple of more notices of missing Fidoa & Fluffies.

I plead guilty to drifting this thread from the original subject but it seems that the topic goes hand in hand.

Of course a BW or LCP is not equal to your choice but it best to have least something with you.

The fish & game department here says we do not have a coyote problem and suggested that folks carry a whistle to scare the coyotes away.

Yep,right,sure,uh-huh

You're right there for sure!! Coyotes are very intelligent.

They can adapt to any environment & situation quite well.

What do you do after getting home from having colonoscopy? Me? I decided to shoot a few rounds. Except for being hungry and thirsty, I didn't feel to bad. Shot both the B/W and the lcp .22. Top picture is B/W at 10'. Bottom is lcp .22 at 12'.

Camo,
That is some pretty good after procedure therapy!!!!!

I hope that all the test results come out negative with no issues

Removed 3 polyps. Doc said they didn't look suspicious. Hope not.

Camo,
I hope that the tests prove to be negative.

Best thing to do is to have some more range therapy time with the BW and LCP.

I?ve had an LCP for about a decade, have used it IWB and in the pocket (both front of jeans and coat pocket).  It currently lives in a lock box in my car console. I?ve realized as my style of dress has changed (much closer fitting pants and shorts) the LCP prints a bit.  It bad, but it?s there.  I bought a BW for keeping in my front pocket at home and summer carry, though I can already see it riding along most of time even as a backup. With the stock grips it concealed no easier than a LCP.  But I put on the Thing Meister Gambler grips and it?s like it?s not even there.

I need to figure out a carry method for my mountain bike, previously I?ve carried nothing and I don?t love that.  Frame pouch would be easiest to access but I don?t love off body carry.  Might just have to ride in my backpack.

Those are some nice looking grips you have there BlindCat and the gun goes without saying .  ;) ;)

most of us can relate to the closer fitting pants and shorts, but not because we bought new ones. get an NAA 22 short and you can wear it around around your neck with a chain or cord.
