See above is this sales hype?,  I thought the Rangers went into the 51?.   If this is true makes my 501 a little more interesting.   I am sure he bought it at the same shop in Columbus, they said they got two in at the time.

It's my understanding that 560 were made for distribution. There is a control lot of 60 pieces to be retained by NAA indefinitely. There WERE some "custom" serialized pieces that were given to various persons/businesses and I am unsure if these were included in the 500 piece promise. I hope this clears up any confusion. Interestingly, the 500 disbursed started with Serial Number 61, retaining the first 60 actual serialized pieces in house. On delivery, the Early Bird participants WERE given the option to trade their higher numbered Ranger for one of the first 60 pieces with its corresponding serial number. This had to be done within 30 days of receipt of the Ranger and it had to be returned in unfired, as received condition to qualify for one of the first 60 as a replacement. I am unaware of anyone who took advantage of this option. Your number 501 is actually released number 441. So, anyone with a Ranger with a serial number that is below 162 has one of the first 100 pieces released either in the Early Bird program or general release to the distributors.
