I found a Black Widow marked 22 lr on the frame. The frame looks like it will accommodate a mag cylinder. Does anyone know if this will work, and if it will, will the bore be the right size for a 22 mag bullet? They said I could bring a mag cylinder in and try it, but I'm a little concerned about bore diameter.

Canoeal

Yes, it will work. Some Black Widows, originally sold as 22lr, were marked that way even though they were built on a 22 mag frame. The only issue may be the timing, but that can be checked and NAA says they should be sent back to time the cylinders.

Thanks Canoeal! I have a range rod I purchased many years ago from Brownells that allows me to check timing the right way.

AFAIK, the bore diameter's are the same (but, what do I know ;) )   :)

This gun is used and they want 319.00 for it. I can buy new cheaper. I would be comfortable at 260.00 but don't know if they will go for it. I might be better off ordering new.

Got it bought for 275.00. Small shop run by 2 brothers who are Iraq war veterans. Glad to do business with them. My Earl mag cylinder dropped right in, and the timing is perfect. Now to shoot it next week sometime.

MR_22

Looks like ya scored! Congrats on the purchase!

Uncle_Lee

Congrats Mr. Shooter.
Another one.
Soon you will have to get a shoebox.

5Shooter,
But in the shoe box...they get  "character"

Let us know how you new BW does on the range when you get it set up with the Magnum cylinder.

I think that the turn around time is fairly quick from NAA.

I'm using the mag cylinder out of my Earl. I have a range rod and checked the timing already. It's timed perfect. New ones are out of stock where I looked, and this one was right in front of me.

Made it to the range. Pictures not the best, but you get the idea. Shot at 30 feet off hand.

If you click on the pictures, they turn the right way.

Nice shooting. That'll get the job done. Good to see you out shooting.

5Shooter,
That is very nice. Glad to see that you got things set up right.

Try it at true self defense distances about 8-10 feet.

The club I belong to won't let us shoot closer than 21 feet because of stupid people. They were hitting the floor, and bouncing bullets into the ceiling and out the side walls. Since our range is located on an airbase, we can't have that. Cameras everywhere now to weed out the idiots. Floor and sidewalls lined with sheet steel. Deflector plates on ceiling.

5Shooter,
Shame that some idiots spoil it for everyone else.  The indoor range that go to has the same rules but not the outdoor range.

There I can set up the target stand as close as I want.

The ground at our outdoor range is clay. Hard as a rock. 50 feet is the closest there also. Have to make sure we have the berm as a backstop. Oh well, at least I have a place to shoot.
