Turn around time for servicing from NAA

Back in Dec 2023 I purchased a new Pug Magnum from a local Dealer here on the Coast of MS, Dad's Super Pawn.  Dad's has a lifetime warranty if you purchase a pistol from them.  The first trip out with the Pug at the indoor range was a disaster. I was shooting Winchester 40gr 1910 fps small game FMJ that you can get locally at Wally World.  The cylinder pin assembly came apart with pieces and a small spring going everywhere.  Other members at the range helped me find all the pieces.  Remember now Dads has a lifetime warranty, so back to Dad's I go and showed them the pieces.  Their gunsmith came back a few minutes later with a new cylinder pin assembly, stating he robbed "Peter to pay Paul", in other words he removed one off another Pug and stated he would order that part from NAA.

My next trip to the range I purchased several different brands of 22 WMR.  This time the cylinder jammed and would not cycle to remove the shot empty cartridges.  Over the years I have owned no less than 7 different NAA's and have never had one single issue with them other than light strikes on cheap ammo.  After removing the cylinder pin assembly and jiggling the cylinder around it became free.

Back To Dad's.  Their gunsmith and I came to the conclusion this was a "Monday or Friday" made gun and it didn't receive the attention needed before leaving the factory.   The gunsmith took a business card and slid it in between the frame and the cylinder.  Looking at the gap and space between the card and cylinder it was not the same gap the length of the cylinder, it was like it was cockeyed in there.  I was told they would send the pistol back to NAA for them to figure out what the problem is and would call me when it comes back to Dad's.  Here it is the 12th of Feb and I have still not been contacted by Dad's to come pick up the pistol.  I went in there a few days ago and asked if there had been any news on the repairs.  The person I spoke with claimed they sent it off and it hasn't come back from NAA.  I'm just wondering if NAA is this slow or Dad's is feeding me a line of shit.

Anyone else has issues such as this?

Used to be about 2 weeks ............... but as Uncle Lee stated, that was back when Sandy was running the show. The company is a bit different these days so knowing the answer to that quandary is difficult to say.

I had to send in my BW I bought around Christmas as the top portion of the back sight keep sliding off no matter how hard I turned down the set screw or added locktite.  They got it back in just over a month.

Here's an update on my Pug issue.  I contacted NAA about the Pug through email.  The next day, Jordan returned an email stating they sent it back to Dad's Super Pawn.  The email stated they fixed the Pug and it was received at Dad's on the 8th of Feb.  This morning I went back to Dad's and handed them the claim check.  The sales person came right out with it in a bag with some paperwork.  There was a note of the paperwork that a call was made to the owner on the 9th and a message was left stating the firearm had returned.  I have no idea who they called and left a message with but it wasn't my number.  I didn't want to make a scene so I signed the paperwork and wished them well.  Headed to the range and the Pug shot flawlessly with Winchester 40gr and Federal Punch 45 gr.  I'm glad to get the Pug back, it's serious fishing time here along the Coast of MS and the snakes are plentiful.  I always carry an NAA with the CCI shell shot for those critters.  Wishing all the NAA owners a happy summer, Brown.

a Long time ago I replaced the adustable sites with fixed. They seemingly always came loose.

Back in 2019, I got an incorrectly machined slide on my second Guardian. A vendor had sent some bad blanks that got into production. It took several weeks for NAA to sort that out, weed out the bad blanks, and send a new gun. Jessica (CS) and Matt Lewis (Engineering Manager) kept me well posted on the progress. I had no complaint with NAA, and the new gun was perfect.

We've lost Jessica, does anyone know if Matt is still with NAA? Linkedin shows he is.

I'm sad to report my otherwise "almost" flawless Guardian has started double feeding the last 2 live rounds even with what I thought were flawless Critical Defense rounds. Also started pulling magazines loose a few times. NAA has been very responsive I'm just trying to get to an FFL for the shipping. My local gun shop closed due to unfriendly gun environment Like Remington did moving after over 100 years . I'm glad I only carried it sparsely but loved it in a back pocket holster. Didn't even know it was there. I'm confident they will fix it I really like the gun but of course I have to be able to trust it at least 250 rounds without a bobble.

Oh, oh... sorry to hear that. Two possibilities - Are the Critical Defense basically HP, and you're using the pinky rest mag bottoms?

My two have 200-250 rounds each, flat mag bottoms and always 71 grain FMJ.

You know legally you don't need a FFL for a gun sent to maker for repair, or returned from maker to you. As I remember NAA just doesn't like doing that.

you really have to keep a firm grip on the 32 Guardian or else it will start to act up. jams, stovepipes etc

I shoot the gun regularly and most sessions were without incident just the occasional last spent round stove piping which is normal. I always use a firm grip and use a revolver like trigger press. I belong to a gun club that's only a few miles away and bring it along every time to put a few magazines through it. Silvertips Hydra Shocks 71gr FMJ Critical Defense are the mix in testing. I've had the gun about two years. The last two range sessions the double feed jams started and had to be cleared with a wooden dowel. No matter the magazine I have 4, I started to notice the magazine pull thing as well. All magazines are flat base (I filed down the finger extension on 2 of them flat.)
I have had a CCW since 1982 I am no novice shooter. In the past any gun that has not been flawless ends up being traded off which anybody else would do if in my position. I'll send it to NAA and hope it comes back dependable. I have a 1st gen Kel-Tec P32 and it has never failed not once since I got it new in 1999 this is the standard all my guns must uphold and except for the Guardian do.
One last thing, in my state you must use an FFL for shipping it's not an NAA thing it's tyranny.

small semi autos can be very tough on springs. it may well be that.

non FFl's can ship firearms back to a manufacturer or to an FFL themselves under federal law. the trouble is that the usps has not allowed it for a long time now and now UPS and fedex wont do it anymore either, so in effect even if your state did not have that law you would still have to use an ffl to ship it.

I have and still will do ship USPS to any location , without really naming any associations to a firearms company in the address , directly . So far no incidents even breaking up the parcel into multiple packages if you think they might ask if its a firearm . Being broken up is in essences is not a firearm . Like I said so far so good . Like writing for address North American or NAA for location and call it milled machinery parts . Seems the gun manufacturers send them back to me directly so far . ;) ;)    P.S. don't forget insurance and NO CARTRIDGES EITHER .
TO ARMS , TO ARMS the liberal socialists are coming . Load and prime your weapons . Don't shoot till you see their UN patches or the Obama bumper stickers , literally . And shoot any politician that says he wants to help you or us .

Where I live you can ship out yourself but have to receive from an FFL , my state taunts Federal laws in the interest of "keeping us safe". In my repair note I am asking for all new springs I gave it thought about things wearing out that would explain the deteriorating performance I did purchase it used. I will also ask how much to smooth the trigger a bit as well. I want to keep this gun but there were others in the past I said the same about and didn't. Like I taught my daughter about people there are assets and liabilities true friends you can trust and the ones who you can't. Same with guns.
