Hello! I'm new to NAA firearms and this forum. It's a pleasure to be part of the mouse gun crew.

NAA Wasp: My new EDC

Every time I found myself in the LGS there was the need to walk by the NAA case to marvel at the incredible display of mini weaponry. Finally, after many years of being curious and impressed by these miniature hand cannons, I decided to finally purchase one for the collection. Behold! My first North Americans Arms revolver: The Wasp with conversion cylinder! When I first saw the Wasp in the case, I was immediately drawn to the artistic engravings on both the cylinder and the cylinder pin. NAA aptly named this revolver the Wasp because these concentric lines are also found on its relative in the natural world.

Impressions

So, I've had this for about a month and want give my thoughts about it:

1. God bless the Second Amendment.

2. This gun is a lot of fun to shoot! This gun is extremely loud!

3. NAA created an incredibly well engineered and constructed miniature firearm; it really is a marvel to behold. There isn't a single element on this gun that makes me feel that it is poorly made or unsafe to use.

4. This gun is very reliable. At this point, 500 rounds of Remington Golden Bullet .22 LR have gone through the shoot tube; again, these are much louder than any other .22 I have shot. About 33% of these rounds keyholed at 2-5 yards. The Wasp fired the vast majority of these rounds with seven failure to fires. 100 rounds of Winchester Super X .22 Magnum have were fired (these are very loud!) and all the rounds fired, with only a few keyholes. Neither the .22 LR or .22 magnum cartridge produce significant recoil and holding the Wasp in my medium sized hands isn't difficult to do.

5. The gun is accurate between 1-5 yards. Here is one of my better targets, five shots, at 3 yards with .22 magnum.

6. Out of all the firearm instruction manuals out there to read, the NAA manual is probably the most important one to read (especially for someone like me who has never used a SA only revolver). Paying careful attention to the Manual?s diagrams on the correct orientation of safety notches and chambers is crucial. As the manual recommends, one must practice loading and unloading the cylinder several times without any ammunition. Even after several rounds of successful practice, lowering the hammer into the safety notches for the first couple of times with a cylinder full of live ammunition definitely got my pulse up. However, all was okay since proper gun handling is a layered safety system: Muzzle towards a safe direction at all times (no body parts in front of the short barrel!) and a set of ear protection just in case the thumb slips off the hammer and the cylinder is in the wrong orientation ;)

For my situation, I don?t have a particular purpose for this firearm. My primary handguns for self-defense are the Kimber K6s and S&W j-frame, both of which are loaded up with Federal Punch .38 Special +P. And for semi, the Glock 19 loaded up with Speer Gold Dots.

I don't live or work in a non-permissible environment for concealed carry and don't have any physical conditions that make handling more powerful self defense handguns painful or impossible. But that does not matter because I've been carrying the NAA Wasp in my pocket every single day anyway as a backup. There is something incredible about having such a well made, small revolver in a pocket holster that completely vanishes. It weighs less than many pocket knives! And if in the future my circumstances change, well, I will continue to have the great and wonderful Wasp to go with me on my travels. I have a feeling the .22LR and .22 Short models will end up in my collection very soon...

My first NAA was a wasp (longer version), loved it? don?t remember why I sold it. My Pug has wasp cylinders, kinda unique I?d guess. Might consider the new Sentinel when it?s released?

NAA is super quick to send out orders from the store  8) Received my fake stag grips and some other cool stuff. After a day of having the fake stag grips, I decided I didn't like them because I knew they were fake. Didn't think this would be the outcome after ordering them, but feeling them against real stag on my knives made me realize just how fake it felt and I couldn't shake the feeling imposter bone should never grace a beautiful hand cannon. So, on the search for nicer grips that are the real deal.

Took the Wasp out for some blasting and was pleased with this result at 4 yards! Had the fake stag grips from NAA but didn't like how they felt so took 'em off and put the original grips back on.

I didn't like the original grips so I made my own, with some help, from a guy on this forum. I bought holsters from another guy on this forum...

I am not sure the new mgt is not shooting themselves in the foot. Around me there are no NAAs in gunshops, though they all seem to be able to order them. I had to figure out what I wanted (yes I ordered a catalog) after seeing one a friend had purchased. I did that with some help from guys on this forum. Without our active support, I am not sure where they are getting their sales, although it must be somewhere. I don't do gun shows.
