I haven't checked in in a while, and the forum isn't showing dates on messages, so I'm not sure when this thread was active...  Is it possible to combine designs #1 and #2?  Instead of choosing between form and function, marry the two ideas:  stick with the fluted look but add shark gill serrations for grip.

It wouldn't be quite as attractive as the straight fluted version, but I'm guessing it would come close.

Weird, it shows post date/time on my own post but not on anyone else's.

it wasnt showing up on mine either. only the most recent post showed date and time

Actually, I think it was coincidental.  Everything on pg 2 is showing the date/time, but nothing on pg 1 is.  It just so happened that my post was the first of pg 2.  That's one of the stranger bugs I've seen.

I mentioned this briefly on the messages to webmaster portion of the forum, but it's a bug that stuck ever since the forum went down a few weeks back. We are trying to get it worked out. Not sure what the problem there might be. The operating system is pretty old.
