Dear North American Arms Forum Members,

We hope this message finds you well. First and foremost, we want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you for your unwavering support and enthusiastic engagement on the North American Arms Forum over the years. Your passion for our products and your dedication to fostering a community of like-minded individuals have made the forum a truly special place.

However, as the forum has grown in popularity and the volume of information shared has increased, we've encountered some challenges in managing its stability. It's become quite a beast to handle, often resulting in crashes and interruptions in service. As topics drift, we also have noticed an increase in our need to moderate, as this forum is still directly associated with our company. There has been an increase in spam, privacy issues, hate, and harassment on our platform.

We understand the frustration this may cause and want to assure you that we are taking steps to address these issues.

To streamline and optimize the forum experience for everyone, we've decided to transition our focus exclusively to discussions related to North American Arms (NAA) products and questions. While we've appreciated the diverse range of topics discussed in the past, narrowing our scope will help us maintain the integrity and functionality of the forum moving forward.

We kindly ask for your cooperation and understanding during this transition period. From now on, we encourage all forum members to keep their discussions centered around firearms, their usage, maintenance, accessories, and any questions or insights related to our offerings.

Should you have an urgent need for assistance regarding our firearms, please don't hesitate to reach out to us directly at [email protected]. Our dedicated team will be more than happy to assist you.

Once again, we sincerely appreciate your continued support and understanding as we work to enhance your experience on the North American Arms Forum. Together, let's keep the spirit of camaraderie and passion for our products alive within this community.

Thank you for being valued members of the North American Arms family.

Warm regards,

Rachel Stilwell

Joe I hope it wasn't my issue I had helped bring this new policy about . I already apologized to NAA , Unc_Lee , now you for my outburst and explained why it was so upsetting an issue to myself and anyone who gets to be the item of entertainment . Only those kinds of posts , of a personal nature should not be allowed unless given permission by the person of issue . Again I apologize and suggest we all notify NAA not to change these great topics they have listed only modify certain material not to be used . We all know how volatile this world has become with nothing off the table by our criminal kind with the internet being a root cause of their wrong doings . You called it creepy is putting it mildly considering we have families to consider also . The less anyone knows about any other the better we all will be . Later Joe and you also have a great day .  :) :)
TO ARMS , TO ARMS the liberal socialists are coming . Load and prime your weapons . Don't shoot till you see their UN patches or the Obama bumper stickers , literally . And shoot any politician that says he wants to help you or us .

I don't blame you at all for your reaction. I would feel the same way. This had to be in the works for a while after Sandy left. We had a good run. It's over

No religious. Now we're agnostic.

According to the cylinder pin poll, we apparently only have a dozen active members. Maybe what, 30 posts a week? It will cut that in half.

This is already the next to slowest forum I know of. Bullseye's GunTalk-Online has only had 4 posts in the past 12 months, but the owner keeps it running. I just looked and right now there are 16 lurkers, at least. It used to be busy and just gradually died.

Very disappointed in the new NAA owners decision to eliminate some of the topics for discussion on the Forum.  I am not shocked by this decision, however, since a topic that was ongoing for about 15 years was suddenly locked without any explanation by the new administration.  There is little indication that this decision that came to light today could be reversed; but hope springs eternal.

MR_22

I first joined the NAA board in 1998, shortly after I purchased a combo Black Widow, which was quickly followed by a Guardian .32 with night sights, which have since faded since (I do need to them replaced!). At one point, I owned 34 NAA firearms, although I've since sold most of my Talo special editions.

I've made some good friends, both on the forum, and at the factory, as I've been just short distance from the factory since 2000, when I moved back to Utah. For literally decades, I've come here for the friendships, the camaraderie, and of course the discussion of NAA products and other topics. A change in the format to this board as suggested will kill this forum and I will lament its passing. It's been a good run, though. Farewell, my friends!

OV-1D

I very much agree Tranquilo , NAA stood along at the top of all forums even some social sites had no chance being equal . Change these days has always , yes always lead to downfalls and or curtailed business . Ask any new or old member just what keeps them interested in NAA products . Thats a survey that will shed some light on your decision for changing . Sorry the forum has become a giant in keeping it going but I believe along with other members also its a must to keep sales going and doors open from a view of the outside looking in .. Please keep the original forum as it was , Thank you for listening to a former successful business now retired owner about this issue . Can't say it enough changing of a good thing is dangerous to the bottom line .

Did a little browsing. Didn't the forum used to show the date we joined? It doesn't anymore. Not by the avatars (I think that showed a date?) or in the profiles.

I think the forum just became Woke ?  .......  :(

I don't believe I'll be buying anymore new NAA's. Most of the ones I have don't have any rifling in the barrel anyway. The ones that do have chatter marks . This has always been the worst forum to post pictures on. They locked a religion thread. Don't want a religion conversation on your forum? Ok. Good luck to you. Goodby.

I don't own a mini. I have two good Guardians. Spare parts, 8 mags and too many holsters. Now that a .22LR Guardian is even more of an impossibility, why am I even here?

Now that I live alone, the discussions we just lost were welcome company. Sometimes funny, and sometimes spirited. We are grown ups and capable of solving our own disagreements. I am  sorry for the all the toes I ever stepped on. I've never intended to upset anybody.

I normally stay logged in here 24/7. I think I'll log out tonight. If I don't come back on, I wish all you guys the best.

As I am new to this product family and new to the forum I appreciate the knowledge shared here. In years past I have been a forum Junky participating on numerous threads and topics across the world wide web. I had unfortunately downgraded to the book of face and scrolling endlessly. Joining here has started reversing this trend for me. Personally I enjoy sharing stories and digging into the memory bank to help folks with issues one might have with a firearm. To limit the scope of the threads to only NAA related topics inhibits the flow of possibilities that a forum can reach. Please do not force us back to the book of face that is so abhorrently impersonal. This forum is a valuable space for people to learn. If people are offended by a topic there is no need to click on the thread. Seems simple enough to me. Opinions are like armpits, one often stinks more than the other, and if you stick your nose where you shouldn't the smell may not necessarily be pleasant. From experience I know my opinions can and most likely will not be the same as others, so I stay away from those waving their arms around to draw attention to the smell of their pits... knowing fully well my thoughts at large can be offensive too. Thanks for listening.

I believe it did. The NAA board has gone through many iterations since 1998--at least 3 or 4 different posting board packages. I remember checking the board on the morning of January 1, 2000, and noting that new posts had the year 19100. ROFL. It wasn't the end of the world, but only showed a minor amusing artifact of the oversight in software.

Hey NAA-Admin, how about a proposal? Back when my cousin was the NAA-Admin of this board, he went on vacation for a couple of weeks and asked me to watch the board while he was gone. He assigned me as a moderator, and I took care of spam and other tasks while he was gone.

When he got back, he left me as a moderator so I could continue to help, which status I still have here. I would be willing to become an active moderator again, if you guys are interested in receiving my help. I'm sure some of the other "trusted old timers" would offer their services as well.

Of course, that doesn't help with technical issues when the board goes down, but it could certainly help alleviate the day-to-day moderation. I'm up for it, if you are. How about it?

GUESS I WILL LIKELY TO TRANSITION OUT OF THE FORUM. I HAVE THE 2 NAAs I AM LIKELY TO BUY (as I am not a "collector "), AND ONLY COME FOR THE CONVERSATION. WHEN THE CONVERSATION GOES, SO WILL I. IF I WANT NAA CONTENT I WILL USE THE FACEBOOK PAGE. YOU GUYS CAN pm me IF YOU WANT. Sorry the company has lost it's guiding principals, when Sandy left. 5 of my aqaintances have bought NAAs (3 BWs, 1 Wasp, one a different one than mine), after seeing mine. I think that too will end. On the facebook page I will still extol the virtues of DGL, but I am afraid he too will take a hit from your descision. Sounds like they may be closing up shop.

one way or the other this forum will be gone sooner than later. you can tell that will be the case if you read between the lines. its an old format and they arent going to sink any money into a new one. Same thing happened to the Seecamp forum. After Larry Seecamp died the new owners eventually closed the forum and all that knowledge on the Seecamp and its maintenance and repairs as well as Larry stories was lost overnight, no warning, no chance to save anything.

This reminds me of when someone buys a successful pizza parlor or deli, pays good money for it, but starts buying cheaper ingredients, used ingredients that have expired, changes the way there was interaction with the customers, change the whole atmosphere, and eventually you walk by one day and the For Rent sign is on the shuttered front.

I have been on the different iterations of the forum since 2003. it was a good way to sit and relax and get  away for a while everyday...and for the overwhelming majority of the time problem free.

Well said, Joe.

Our favorite Mexican restaurant in town suffered this fate. We went there for probably ten years and we loved it. The parents of one of my daughter's classmates owned and ran it and we couldn't be more happy. They sold it and the new people changed the menu and changed how the business was run and within a year or so, they closed down. Now it's a karate school or something. All good things must end.

Uncle_Lee

I have been on the NAA forum for 15+ years.
It has been the only forum that I go to for that period of time (except one where you post the first word in your mind after reading the last post). Now I see where I have none.
At one time I had 57 NAA products.
I now have 29. Sold some because I had two of each.

I guess most of my posts will not be allowed since coffee has nothing to do with NAA products.
Oh well, if this change is necessary, so let it be done.
I will miss all of you (except those on my ignore list).

Like a visit to a house of ill repute, would love to stay but the time is up.

I will check back to see how far this new forum will has changed our world.

What? "Sounds like they may be closing up shop" I'm 3 months behind in orders! (Not all of them are for NAA's)  :o

I haven't had a chance to post photos I've taken!

My concerns started quite a while ago.

   1) a lot of returned guns for warranty work. Every time a gun comes back, the cost of making that gun goes way up.

   2) Sandy sold out. Did he see the writing on the wall?

   3) No communication from the new owners.

4 ) Closed a religious conversation with no warning or explaination.

   5) Jessica left. Her choice? I don't know.

  6) Eliminated politics and religion thread with no warning.

  7) Now that we're discussing these things the new guy introduces himself.

Nothing personal to the new guy, I just don't like the way things have progressed.

The new Sidewinder Pug didn't go over to well with the faithful. I don't think NAA expected that.

Hoping for the best, but NAA needs to step it up a lot before I buy another new one. I wish Ruger or S&W had bought out NAA.

Marlin closed down their forum when people got disgruntled with their product. They had problems and Ruger bought them

I truly hope NAA gets their shit together.

5_shooter

I wrote I hope NAA gets their shiiit together , and it was change to crap automatically. Curbing free speech too.

I do not know if the leftist political powers presently controlling our Constitutional Republic are pressuring the new ownership of NAA to eliminate the Politics and Religion division of our discussion board - but it sure feels that way.  How ironic, if true, that a gun manufacturing company would cooperate with forces seeking to deny law abiding citizens of the United States of America their First and Second Amendment rights.  NAA, please restore the Politics and Religion section to our discussion board!  Thanks.

Y'all remember that Sandy sold the Company to the employees. Believe it was set up in some kind of Trust for the employees. This usually ends up wrecking things ............. too many Chiefs and not enough Indians. French Revolution philosophy. Modern day re-enactments of the crucifixion of Jesus do not compare to what Jesus suffered that day.  Medical experts who also are familiar with the torture that was customary for condemned criminals by Roman soldiers, and have studied the accounts recorded in the four gospels, report that the preliminary beating that Jesus endured prior to having His wrists and feet nailed to the cross, would have killed most men prior to the 3/4 mile march to Golgotha (Calvary).

Jesus paid it all
All to Him I owe
Sin had left a crimson stain
He washed it white as snow

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.

As a millennial, I'm sick and tired of social media and have deleted all my accounts some three years ago. Social media like FB and the like are deeply impersonal and are not conducive to sharing knowledge or stories. I like forums and hope they make a resurgence but this can only happen with some freedoms...Here on the NAA forum, there should be an off-topic and religious discussion forum. If people are easily triggered by such topics then they ought not to click and read them.

I checked in as I do on an occasional basis to find "this happened". The problem with Politics and Religion sections on forums are people who won't keep their comments thereon within the appropriate sub-forum. EVERYTHING becomes a political and/or religious discussion - esp. among monotheists who feel they have to shout their religion from the rooftops to annoy the rest of us who may very well have their own religion and/or spirituality that differs from theirs; but we're wrong, you see. It gets tiresome.

As for FB and other so-called "Social Media" sites, as a lifetime computer professional, "I know better" and will NEVER darken the door of such - I'll exit the Internet altogether before being caught dead in such places. I advise everyone to do the same. My personal website actually rejects links from FB (they're blocked at the server level), and I have all such sites blocked at my firewall as well - they're out of my computer and out of my life. I advise everyone to do the same.

Just the ravings of a grumpy old man here...
