I imagine most here also have a .22lr rifle. If so what is your favorite or preference?
Mine is a Saveage MK II with the heavy varmint barrel.
But since I had to resort to tri-focal glasses just to see properly, I am looking for the open sights target model.

You may not need it but should have it.

But then at my age I really don't need it, just want it.

I have a few.  But my favorite is a custom built (by me) 10/22.  The only thing Ruger on it is the rotary mag.

I won't carry a laser device... unless it has stun, kill, and disintegrate settings.

I have (my First rifle, 1970), a bolt action single shot Mossberg, with an added scope.

Heres my shooters . The top Ruger is a tack head killer at 50-60 feet probably much further if I had more room , never had a rifle so darn accurate .All the other I suppose would be pretty much the same with scopes . The bottom one I must have to do better zeroing it in , close but no cigar , hard to do with very few places left to open shoot . I envy you guys with the whole open back yards .

We have quite a few .22 rifles but alas .................. we have no photos of any of them. We have a Walther G22 Bull Pup, a Rossi Rio Bravo lever gun, and more than a few CMMG Bravo AR conversions.  :-\

Heck Rogue thats just a common buy pump 22, I picked that up at Wal-Marts a few years back . Still very much available , Thats why I picked it up its unusual looking . I do want to refinish the furniture because out of the box it's pretty rough to the feel . ;)  ;)  ;)

O&G- nice model 6!
My first gun was a Remington Model 6. It was my dad's first gun. I still have it.

10/22 I built off a brownwells receiver, Tac-Sol Barrel, Magpul stock.  Only Ruger parts in it are the bolt and BX trigger.

And I bought a Ruger American Rimfire to shoot CCI Quiets from, that's pretty great.

That second one up in the picture ,a lever action Marlin ,shoots all three 22 , s ,l ,lr's ,lengths which is outstanding for any 22 rifle . In any given order also .

Still love it. It harkens back to the day when carnivals used those for their shooting games/contests.

You know Rogue I think thats what drew me into buying it now that I think back . It does shoot real well but breaking in the action will take some more time to smooth it out . I used some dry Teflon spray on the action and that stuff is amazing ......................... So what is it the "GUN FAIRY" is going to drop off anyways ?? All your lacking is a bazooka ,right or a RPG launcher .  ;)  ;)  ;)  ;)  ;)

Obviously one cannot have enough 22s!!!

I have several but I seem to prefer the 10/22 but the one that gets used in the field the most is my Stevens Model 24  22lr/410 O/U.

OV-1D,
I would love to send in a photo but my computer skills are zero.

Savage/Stevens for many years produced the Model 24 in many caliber combinations

I had a Model 24C (camper) that was in 22lr/20 ga and I figured that was the ideal squirrel/rabbit gun. But for some stupid reason I sold it.  Wish I still had it.

On my 22lr/410,I have a butt stock sleeve in rifle caliber that will nicely hold 9  410 shells and with and MTM Ammo wallet of 30  22lr cartridges,I am pretty well set for a hunt.

The take down feature is pretty nice. It fits just right on top of my mid sized range bag and with that combination I am ready for a day afield

Stevens discontinued the Model 24 some time ago and now have out a Model 42  22lr/410  I guess it is OK but  I prefer the old model.

No bazookas or rpg's ............... at least not this time. Not sure what she will bring but we are anticipating something in .38 Special.  8)

My son-in-law, an Iraq war Marine vet has muliple firearms but no rimfires. So I have challenged him to a rimfire showdown with the rifle of his choice at 50 yds. I said I would pay for the rifle but he would have the responsibility of a scope and ammo. He looks at my NAA's as mere toys so we will see what happens.  ::)
I may be an old codger but I'm really decent at bench 22lr rest rifle shooting since 1970 and he wasn't even born until 78! :D
