I have recently decided to keep my Earl in the side pocket of my recliner. It's unloaded but I have 5 rounds in my pillbox in the Saturday slot on my end table. This is only because my small town of 8,000 has an unsloved murder for more than a year!
I would have it loaded but since I have 3 grandkids that come over weekly. safety is the top priority.
I do however, have a loaded Pug under my pillow each night that I lock up again each morning.
The wife thinks I'm paranoid but I think I'm prepared. ;)

You may not need it but should have it.

Just because you are "paranoid" does not mean they are not out to get you! ;D Stay crazy stay alive!

Anvil those cartridges in your pill box you might as well concede are of no use elsewhere except in the weapon . Someone at the door looking to be no good is not going to stand there watching you load . Kids around in your home , if thats a case, will always be a problem leaving a loaded gun around . I have friend put up some false molding on top of his front door molding to hide his loaded mini behind . Think outside the pill bottle unless your not nervous loading under pressure . Just an opinion mind ya . ;)  ;)  ;)  ;)  ;)  ;)
TO ARMS , TO ARMS the liberal socialists are coming . Load and prime your weapons . Don't shoot till you see their UN patches or the Obama bumper stickers , literally . And shoot any politician that says he wants to help you or us .

I think it would be faster to take out the loaded cylinder and put it in the gun if you need it, than trying to load five rounds quickly. you have to take out the cylinder anyway to load it.

Anvil,
Hey Joe has the right idea.

Maybe you should invest in one of those little bolt to floor/wall gun lockers that open with  a finger code??

Now you are not paranoid, you are correctly thinking

I took the advice given and loaded the cylinder separate from the revolver in the opposite pocket of my recliner.
Don't come knocking at my door! I only answer to the NRA1
