Henry Revolver Dual Carry Style Leather Holster

I don't build the Dual Carry Style Holsters very often.  This client has a couple I did for his other revolvers, so he wanted one for his new Henry Revolver too.

The Dual Carry has belt slots on the back that let you carry "strong side" or "cross draw."
(sorry, I didn't get a photo of the back to show what it looks like  :o )

The secondary retention strap over the gun helps hold it in while on horseback or quads. As you can see there is not much wet molding to do for this style holster, only the general shape of the gun and a site track.

Chestnut color leather and Natural color Thread on this one.

Questions, Comments, and Constructive Criticism are always welcome!  Thanks for looking!

Another extremely beautiful holster is presented to you by Mr. Rick.
I have only one thing that I think should be. The leather in the front should be a different color than the rest of the holster.

Looks great ............. We prefer a thumb strap but that is merely a personal preference.

Rick,

I was in contact with Henry about their 10 shot .22 revolver and sent them a Colt/Ruger 10 shot .22 speedloader to test in it, they verified that it fit so I picked up a new Henry 10 shot .22, I assume your holster will also fit. They were nice enough to send me their holster for the new Henry.

The quality is excellent, I took it home and tried it out on my own range. The accuracy was very good but it takes a bit getting used to the narrow front blade, I'm used to a wider front Patridge style sight and an adjustable rear sight. The DA was very smooth for a new revolver, very impressive. The SA trigger is also very crisp. It comes with 3 front sights for elevation adjustment but the medium height sight that was installed is perfect for the shooting I do. I could easily hit my steel plates with the Henry. It won't replace my 617's but I wanted to add it to my collection. The speed loaders that I designed for the Colt and Ruger 10 shots work great in the new Henry.

If I got out and did much shooting, I would have one of those (maybe a pair).
It looks like it is straight out of my younger days.

The grip feels good, it is also available with a birds head grip.

10Speed,
If I were to purchase that revolver,I think that I would choose the birds head grip but I would have to see how it "fits" first.

Next step would to be to  order one of Rick's superb holsters for it.

Great work on the holster! I might have to take a look at the Henry Big Boy... I think I'd like to try the Henry out, I do like their lever guns!

Henry was nice enough to send me a holster and a Henry sock hat for me giving them a speed loader and loading box. It's not as nice looking as Rick's but the price "free" was right.

10Speed,
Nice looking holster. Henry rifle is a very nice company to deal with.

Over the years,I received several complimentary products from them.

That Holster is made by a friend of mine; Rob Leahy from Simply Rugged Holsters in Prescott AZ

Rob is a great person and builds excellent, durable, and rugged heavy duty Holsters. Henry stocks some other accessories that Rob makes too, butt stock covers, slings, and a second style Holster. (maybe some other items)

Photos are from a Lever Rifle class we both attended a couple years ago at Ben Avery Shooting Range

The instructor knows us both and thought it was cool that two "leather guys" were in the same class! lol! We first met at gun shows and at leather trade shows.

Dry heat??!!  It is still hot!!

Reminds me of when they started to load up our packs with lightweight stuff.

Now instead of carrying 60 lbs of regular heavy stuff,we now could pack 100 lbs of the lightweight stuff!!!
