Dear NAA

Have you ever considered making a long gun? Something like a Little Badger or a Crickett or a Chipmunk etc? Small, single shot, but with a hammer rather than a plunger. You are good at small guns. You are good at quality guns. You are good at fun yet effective guns. I would prefer 22lr/l/s to start with. I might want one in 22mag also. I bet you could even move some chambered in .32 and .380.

I will be waiting.

Thank you.

Anvil

Great idea Ozark! I think with the 1:16" twist and a 16 inch barrel would be awesome. You can put me down for one.
Just keep the traditional NAA look of rosewood for the stock and forearm.  ;)

Maybe even consider thinking out of the box in an over and under .22lr rifle. That would make a great squirrel gun with target peep sights!
You may not need it but should have it.

I think I would get one of those "long guns". That way when we went out to our "country acreage", I could set in the car and shoot cans. I am not good shooting out of the car with a mini.

Anvil,
Henry Rifle makes one pretty much like you described. It is their youth model 22 single shot, bolt action.

Needless to say,it would be nice to see what NAA could come up with.

Top Dog, I really like Henry rifles, good quality and made in the USA but most of them are out of my price range. I wanted the original 45 lever action for SASS but it is listed at just shy of $3,000! Can the average Joe afford that?
NAA'S are also made in the USA and affordable and will still be that way if they develope a rifle for us.  ;)

You may not need it but should have it.

Anvil,
I agree with you on that.

My wife loved her little Henry bolt action. In fact, had her initials engraved on the grip cap.

She even had an engraved name plate on her tackle box so I guess she pretty much had her ducks all lined up/

I bet that if NAA made a nice little single shot 22lr rifle,it would sell like hot cakes!!

Mmm...maple syrup...mmmm.....

We don't have much maple syrup down here abut do have Kansas Sorghum syrup made by the Amish in Central kansas and it's really delicious! Just not quite as sweet, but as sweet much like a NAA long rife would be!
Let's do this! :)
You may not need it but should have it.

Ozark75

I agree Anvil....LETS DO THIS!!!!!!

NAA - Are you listening?!??!?!?

top dog

Anvil,
I got to thinking (uh-oh) about this................how about a shoulder stocked mini with a 16 inch bbl???

Say like a Side Winder or Sheriff???? I bet a break top mini rifle would be unique!!!!

Well I think we have given the home office plenty of thoughts for the development and planning of the next NAA firearm.
Bottom line is we want a rifle! :)

YES!!!!

Ozark and Anvil,
I will stand in line with you to get one as soon as NAA makes it!!

                              Top Dog

Uncle_Lee

I fear that the line will be short and the waiting time will be very long.
Look how long we have wanted a .32 acp Mini...
Still waiting.

I agree with you an that.

Glad to hear from you. I hope all is well.

NAA making long guns just might require a different licensing with I doubt they would spend on extra tooling for such a project . One can be easily made thought just time and effort is required plus materials gotten from any good gunsmith ..   ;)  ;)
TO ARMS , TO ARMS the liberal socialists are coming . Load and prime your weapons . Don't shoot till you see their UN patches or the Obama bumper stickers , literally . And shoot any politician that says he wants to help you or us .

Uncle_Lee

Honestly, I will put in a couple of thousand to help with cost of retooling for a .32 acp mini.as long as they hurry. I don't want to die the day before they bring it to market.

Plus I will buy a pair of them at MSRP.

OV-1D,

I agree with you on that. Tooling up for another product would require a lot of money for sure.

Uncle Lee,
As you know,NAA already has a nice 32........the Guardian but that is not a revolver.

I wonder just how much larger a 32 mini revolver would be??

I have a 32 Guardian and it is a cute little handgun.
Problems: I can't rack the slide or pull the trigger. Old hands...

A Rifle might be "out of NAA's Wheelhouse".  Their focus is the Mini Revolvers and they don't stray far from that (especially in the last year or so) JMHO  8)

I have 2 of the Chiappa Little Badgers, one in .22lr and the other in .17hmr They are very fine small rifles both have threaded barrels for a suppressor (the SilencerCo Sparrow works great for both) I found both of mine for under $200.00 each.

But, if NAA comes out with a rifle... I'm in line to get one!  8)

The Guardian wasn't in their wheelhouse either...until it was.

I believe that NAA could pull off a small quality single shot rifle.

I believe they could sell quite a few.

The question is, will they?

They could do it, people will want it. What are we waiting for?

People have been begging for this for years, they're just not interested.

This would certainly fill a niche in the market. Not just for collectors; an ultralight backpacking gun with 5 rounds of .22LR or .22 Magnum on tap in a package as small or smaller than single shot .22s. There's simply nothing else that compares.  Alas. Maybe the guys who made the PTAC bullfrog or Standard Manufacturing Switch Gun would be interested.

Teddybearrat over on rimfire central did his own one-off, picture credits his. Rest of us can only drool and dream.

The ironic thing is it would be relatively simple to make.  All it really takes is a barrel and that just threads on IIRC.  Of course there are considerations regarding strength in that area, but as far as I know it wasn't a showstopper on Teddybearrats one-off. They already have folding grip holsters, so it would be trivial to design a polymer folding stock that protects the trigger when folded.

The sentinel would be the perfect basis for such a platform; the swing out cylinder allows for a cylinder gap deflector (and its not even clear this would even really be necessary for a .22), the squared off barrel profile would provide rigidity and support for a 16" barrel. A set of proper irons (think mini master, not pug) with a thinner target front sight would be a great plinker and small game getter by itself, but The frame could support a dovetail to accept a custom compact clamp on red dot base for a Holosun 407k or similar.

There would be nothing else on the market that combines that size and weight while also offering 5 rounds of .22LR or .22 magnum on tap.  Most little ultralight backpack guns are only one caliber, or single shot. Most small semi autos like the AR7 are only .22 Lr.

If you wanted a dedicated platform instead of a derivative (which seems reasonable given that NAA does innovate regularly), combining the safety notches with a manual cross bar safety like the PTAC Bullfrog would be cool, as well as a beefed up barrel/frame interface. I am a big fan of the rectangular barrel profiles of the pug and black widow so I hope they opt for something along those lines.

Just do it NAA! Give the people what they want ;D Do we have to sign a petition and preorder it to assuage fears of recouping costs? Because I've never talked to someone and shown them the above pictures who wasn't immediately interested.
