Restore the categories "Politics And Religion", and "Off Topic". They were eliminated arbitrarily in January. NAA decided to keep the forum "product oriented". We lost more than a few active members.

Politics especially is informative, especially with a new Administration coming in, making changes that gun owners need to know.

With our pitiful post count, I can cover a month's worth of posts in 15 minutes. So I only log in once in a great while now. Just coincidental I was here to see your post. I've read and written a few posts in the last couple of days. Now I'll go back to  lurking. once a month or two.  Eventually I'll give up too.

You a Smith, Ruger, or Kimber owner? They have forums + those topics. May consider joining there. Wish NAA had these sections too.

Sure, those forums are out there, but our family (that is what they were) is not there.
Yes, we were a family. Like families, we argued and disagreed like all families.
We were in the wrong for letting feelings get out of hand. Well it wasn't just us. Sandy encouraged the close feelings by treating us like family.
But now Sandy is gone and the forum is run by people with different goals for the future.
There are/will be those who were here but in their heart were not family. They will be happy here now.

If you are going to stay, stay.
If you are going to leave, leave.
You do your self no good by lurking and posting now and then to say you miss the old days. They are gone and you only open the wound by coming back now and then.

Isn't that the truth . Go Unc many of todays crowd has come the wanna , could a ,should a feeling none of us older timers have , we just do and go with the flow . Want it buy it , need it get it without criticizing others ofcourse . The forum is what it is and I of all people have found absolutely nothing wrong with it , I've posted unwanted topic 's and they still were posted and left . Not going to hear any whines from me ,UNLESS PERSONAL STUFF . :o  :o  :o  :o
TO ARMS , TO ARMS the liberal socialists are coming . Load and prime your weapons . Don't shoot till you see their UN patches or the Obama bumper stickers , literally . And shoot any politician that says he wants to help you or us .

I think we should leave the site pure and simple for true NAA enthusiasts exclusively. We might be a small minority in the gun world but that's okay, those here and active members are devoted to what is well represented, top quality firearms, consealabilty and  afforability. The bigger caliber guns are made to kill and the NAA's are made to personally defend.
You may not need it but should have it.

Right.
And I could 100% happy here if all my thoughts, wishes, and desires were based on North American Arms. But they are not.
The way the forum was touched all those needs. Now it does not. But I will be here because it is necessary. I have too many "family" here. To see them post tells me that they are still above ground and I like that.
There are some that I worry about if they don't post for awhile like Zorba (but I check other websites to check on
him.). I was worried about the bear but posted and I know he is alive.
There are others that I am happy to not see them post.

While the forum may still go on .............. it is not nearly the same as it used to be nor as active. It is what it is though. We come here for the people that have been here over the years and will likely continue to do so as long as things do not get too Lefty.

Bring back P&R and Off Topic. --- Over the years there have been several mass loses of members. We had a lot of freedom and drove a bunch away. I think P&R got cut in part because of the bickering. It's not all NAAs fault. User melt downs didn't help. I melted down a few times. I stayed away from P&R most of the time. My nerves could not take much of it.

I joined the Shotgun Forum 10 years ago. I post off and on but not much last year. It has been about 9 months of not checking in. Today I got a Email from them saying my posts have had 245 replies and they value my input. I will check back in later to see what I said  :o . --  If NAA wants to bring life back to our forum they could mass Email all members who have not canceled there accounts. Just say we miss you. Short and sweet. Might help.

OK. I don't have a killer number of posts, but when "off topic' was around, it was one of my favorite reads.  I vote yes to bring back off topic and loosen up with the moderation.  Off topic was a good informational source that kept people looking and it was fun.

I check in once a week, sometimes I post.
I have not added  NAA items in quite some time.
