I'm not a fan of Velcro. My wife says it sounds like ripping hair off a scalp. LOL
I would much rather have the old fashion metal snaps or zippers or even a button down version to secure closure on almost anything.
So I was about to purchase a .22 short NAA leather holster from our good friend Rick at Desert Leather when I noticed in the description that evil word "velcro"!
Nope, I just can't do it!
A friend of mine once said Velcro is a ripoff! LOL
you may not need it but you should have it

Anvil,
I pretty much agree with you on that about velcro.

I feel that way about zippers in sleeping bags. Just when you have to get out..............things get "interesting"

I knew of one young man who was camping in the wilderness in the northwest when that night a grizzly bear was pulling him in his sleeping bag out of the tent.  Yep,you guessed it,the zipper jammed.

The young man was able to do the Houdini act and scramble free.

Velcro has its places but not for repeated use . first it all it does lose its gripping due to the hook side starting to flatten out second if it collect enough lint and stuff it will not hold either third it does melt . Believe or not the military Velcro seems to be much better material , simply it lasts longer under the same conditions but still has the same characteristic's in the long run . Just saying there is cheap Velcro and theres the more expensive styles and made to last longer . Velcro is a registered trade name by the way it seems seeing it comes up wrong spelling if written with a small v , go figure . If one looks at the military stuff compared to the ordinary store material you'll see a big difference in qualities , honestly .  Besides I'm a button down or post kind a guy so Velcro is out even if I have rolles of it from my stint at Grumman just some of my going away retirement party gifts . Funny that place threw away thousands of dollars worth of stuff when a program closed out and we couldn't touch it ...............so to say . I think I could build a .............. no I didn't say that . Lets just say I'll never be without a lot for a few life times .I'm glad they didn't weight our vechiles coming and going or the jig would have been up . I'm bad . ;)  ;)  ;)  ;)
TO ARMS , TO ARMS the liberal socialists are coming . Load and prime your weapons . Don't shoot till you see their UN patches or the Obama bumper stickers , literally . And shoot any politician that says he wants to help you or us .

Take a second look at the Driving Holster for the Short. If you read all the way to the bottom it tells you that there is a "Belt Loop" used for the Short (Not Velcro)
And even if you missed it I will do the Belt Loop on the back of the Driving Holster for ant of the NAA's for anyone that asks.

Rick,
No doubt abnout it,your holsters are superb to say the least.

Hopefully you are all healed up from your surgery.

Velcro plays a pivotal role in every AIWB holster we carry. Maybe not the way one normally thinks of Velcro being used but still pivotal.

It works great for attaching the gel pads to IWB holsters!

Yes Sir it does. Also acts as a sturdy wedge to push that pistol grip back where it is supposed to be while being worn AIWB.
