I'm one of them olde guys who carrys for protection.  I live in a rural area of the canyonlands of Arizona and cell reception to call 911 is "iffy"  Response is...well...best they can.

Because my forgetter is getting better every day and because I can't carry at work and other places I'm at - hospital, court, post office.  I'm not always carrying myself.  I do keep my NAA .22lr and a Kel-Tec PF9 in my car.  I figure where ever I am the car's gonna be close by.  I can also not carry at work, but take a car gun with me where I can carry.

I keep the NAA .22LR in the drop down sunglass holder above my windshield...pretty cool location.  It fits well.

So yesterday I'm out and about and had some prohibited carry stops and expected to stay in town.  Was also taking pictures and I wound up wanting to take pictures out a wilderness trail.  I love kilts and was wearing a kilt so no pants pockets to work with.  When I went to put the PF9 in my jacket pocket I'd worn a jacket with small pockets.  It wouldn't fit.  So hey - the NAA fit easily so I took off out on the trail, took the pics, and came back feeling safe.  This trail is also a place drunks and homeless are known to crash.

Anyhow, I'm really liking the idea of keeping the NAA .22LR in the car for situations just like this.

Keeping the gun in the sunglass compartment seems a good idea. I have to leave mine in my vehicle at times - maybe i will give that a try.

Regarding kilts - Robert Heinlein's character Lazarus Long wore kilts and kept a pistol in a holster on one thigh and a knife in a holster on the other thigh. I have never tried kilts, but I always thought that was a cool idea.

Love kilts.  Have underkilt thigh holsters.  Pretty cool.  Can carry two S&W 642s.  Can stand sideways and inch the kilt up where the adversary can't see to reach one...or can feign knee pain and crumple to the ground screaming in pain then come up heeled.  The lady who made them, Chick Holsters, is no longer in business.  Worked out some test models with me and three other kilt guys.

And of course my NAA .22LR is a great sporan gun.

I can't say anything about kilts but , what are those shoes you are wearing,, looks like a cross between work shoes and high heels, Please don't tell me they are like womens heels just to get your butt noticed..:-D

Yes, the are Z Coil shoes.  Love them.  They were invented for joggers then adopted by folks with bad feet, ankles, knees, hips, backs for pain relief.  What they do is absorb the impact when walking so my 250lb fat body only impacts at 125lbs.  I bought my first pair because they worked as soon as I put them on...had bad plantar pain.

It WAS difficult to force myself to wear Z Coils with kilts...but another olde guy up in Denver was doing it so I went ahead.  Both the kilts and the Z Coils are about comfort.

I do go to WalMarche' in my little town...kilted...well know in town for wearing kilts.  I'm proud of my Scottish heritage and wear kilts with tartans that honor my ancestral clans and the military service of family members and ancestors. Just got a new kilt in the Federal Memorial tartan to honor two great great grandfathers who fought for the Union.  One a "Squirrel Hunter" taking on John Hunt Morgan during the raid across Ohio.  Later my gggrandfather was in Washington D.C. and fought against Early's raid.  My other gggrandfather endured the long Tennessee campaign.

The beauty of underkilt holsters is who would ever think that a guy in a kilt was packing heat under there?  Really concealed carry.

Dang there riverkilt I know I wouldn't look or even care what you got under there . Always wondered though when the snows knee deep . Nothing like a good healthy heritage to explain things , good for you there Scotsman . Keep up with the faith and down with the kilt . :) My dear departed mothers side was from Belfast , Ireland and we all know the wildmen that come out of there .

as it turns out, searching under a kilt requires a strip search warrant. i carried for years and years before my state had a ccw law.

Rhettt,
Not a Marine,82nd Airborne (happens in the best of families),'Nam '64,65',66'.
My friend, now passed on was Ira Hay's squad leader on Iwo Jima.

Getting back to the minis, they are always the go to piece I have. When it is too hot to have the small Glock,it is a mini that is with me all the time.

I just ordered a grop/holster for my 1 1/8"bbl Mini Mag. Should be here in a few days.

Semper Fi to you fine Marines.
