I would like to have a Shadow Pug but the price nowadays is around $550 and not sure why. I got my stainless Pug for under $300. I can get a Savage target rifle for the same price. So go figure! I reckon it's a matter of preference.

you may not need it but you should have it

Dang Anvil your becoming a one man show , where is everyone ???  Where are the loyalties these days . Still hope everything with Unc_Lee is o.k. , no word as of yet . Hey Rachel of NAA can't you check on him for us seeing he has been a over the top endorser of NAA's , none better for sales and promotions  . Sure would be a grateful action my dear . ;)  ;)  PLEASE !!!!!!!     Us inquiring minds need to know .
TO ARMS , TO ARMS the liberal socialists are coming . Load and prime your weapons . Don't shoot till you see their UN patches or the Obama bumper stickers , literally . And shoot any politician that says he wants to help you or us .

Anvil,
The shadow PUG looks great but so does that rifle.

You already have a PUG so why not get the rifle now and the shadow later???

LOL! I already have 3 Savage 22lr rifles. :)
I'm considering getting neither and saving the expense.
But then how can I be the Shadow King with owning just one? ???

I found a black finish 22lr model for just $270 but it's not currently available.  :-\
I reckon it depends on which one becomes avaible first.

Anvil,
I see that you have a problem there. My only solution would be for you to purchase that Shadow as soon as possible.

We all know that you are going to do it.........................so go out and get it!!!!

The truth is TD, I just might be done buying. I retired in 2018 and the firearm prices have just about doubled since then. I purchased a Colt Anaconda for $450 back in the day. Today it is listed at $1200! My retirement income has remained about the same. Plus there seems to be little interest from my grandkids in shooting and hunting.
My how times have changed! I was raised as a hunter. My kids were raised on shooting targets and their kids are centered on Roblox! :'(
Where do we go from here?  >:(

Anvil,
I hear you. So it is up to us to start to renew their interests into something better than the computer junk and stuff.

If you enjoy having them and using them, buy them. Don't worry what happens to things after you die. You have no control over that except a will, and even a will doesnt prevent people from getting rid of them after they inherit them.

It's too bad that our friends cant be here with us today

Good Luck With That. The current generation is addicted to it in every aspect of life.

When I was a kid in the 50's I spent 90% of my time outdoors, Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall. Today my grandkids spend maybe 5% of their time outdoors. One granddaughter is active in sports but only indoors. I.E. basketball and volleyball. She says outdoor sports are dirty and disgusting.  :-\
My 7 year old grandson is totally scared of knives and guns. :'( When I was at that age I was thrilled to just take hold of either of them. My daughter tells me I should take my grandson shooting. I told her that is his dad's responsibity not mine.
I reckon hunting rabbit, dressing it out and roasting it on an open fire is a lost cause inless you live west of Wichita!

Anvil,
At the age of 7,I harvested my first white tailed buck and that was in sight of the Empire State Bldg (I lived in NJ)

I guess times have changed.  But recently,I gave my great grandson a Bug-A-Salt gun and he took to it like a duck to water and wants to go fishing with me.

So,I guess there is hope???

The only thing scared here are the chickens in the background - while my youngest grandson plinks away with the Red Ryder I gave him for Christmas.

Actually I've given up on becoming the Shadow king due to the high prices now offered for NAA black finish revolvers. You can now call me the Earl!

Anvil,
So you are saying that because your sone-in-law doesn't shoot, his kids will never have the chance to try shooting.
I've been a hunter education instructor for 49 years, and in that time I have had several women bring their son or daughter to the class, and had them say that they had always wanted to go hunting, but their father (or anyone else) would not take them, but they now had a boy friend or a neighbor who was willing to take the youth out.  In some cases their "dad" was too busy chasing the almighty dollar while his kid grew up without him.

Anvil

My son-in-law has a tendency to keep me at a distance with raising his kids.
He's kind of tired of my Daughter's (Father Knows Best syndrome).
It's okay, I raised my kids with no outside influence and he should raise his without grandpa's interferance.

Anvil,
Very good thinking
