For all those that were asking,I received 2 new BT's today from Buds Gun Shop.Serial numbers:BT00104 and BT00105.Consecutive numbers also!!!!!!!!

sub16610

Also no mention of "Ranger" on papers, box or gun.

naabug

BTOO104 & 105 SHOULD HAVE BEEN IN THE FIRST 96 SOLD AS EARLY BIRD PROGRAM.THAT MEANS THEY DID NOT SELL AS WELL AS EVERYONE THOUGHT.

sub16610

Wasnt it just up to 100 ?

naabug

61-157 was early bird program.

45flint

Interesting the numbers are about 10 below my early bird serial numbers. I think they put the serial numbers in a pot and pick them out when they ship.

   Steve

ephraim

Yeah, I don't get that either. My serial # is BT00142, and I placed my order on 9/1/10. They sure were not shipped in the placement of orders. But then I guess I never expected them to be shipped that way. As you say, 45flint, they just shipped them at random. I don't think it really matters. I am very happy with my piece. In addition to the quality of this piece, I am impressed with the balance.Much better than the standard mini.

   E!

45flint

I agree these revolvers seem to be just about perfect so whats in the number.

   Steve

ephraim

Right you are, 45flint. In ref to the info on sales of the BT, it seems unlikely that the BT will ever see regular production. This may be good in some respects and also may mean 22lr cylinders and holsters, etc. may not be readly available. In any case, I am glad I got one.

   E!

mrmadhat

low production does not mean it wont get holsters made for it might just take a little bit.. I offer holsters for both LR and mag buntlines and they only had 500 made..

45flint

E.  not sure I disagree but why do you say it is unlikely the BT will go into full production.

   Steve

ephraim

Mrmadhat,

That sounds good. I would like to get a pocket holster for the BT. Have not found anything that seems suitable. From what I have seen, I like your work very much.

   E!

ephraim

Steve,

I assumed that since BTs were showing up at dealers with low serial #s that the initial production of early birds were not sold out. Therefore maybe the market would not support full production. I hope I am wrong. Anyway, everytime I assume something it usually makes me the the first part of that word.

   E!

coinchop

I think I speak for myself and a lot of other

people on the BT.. LATER... OR IN MY FUTURE...

I have hopes that at some point I will be able

to get one with both cylinders.

westerly1965

Yea I would like a BT but held off for the same reason Coin.  I shoot ALOT of caps out of my .22 mini so I am hoping they release one with both cylinders eventually.  The Mag only option doesn't help me most of the time when I just want to "plink".  Meantime I think I'll look into a wasp or a pug for kicks...

coinchop

I have a PUG with both cylinders and I can't

remember the last time I used the Mag. cyl.

The Pug was built to fondle...

lohman446

Question Chop:

What if it were 22LR only with no Mag option.  To me I would love a longer barreled (even a little bigger would be ok) BT just for plinking with.  Something along the Earl but a BT would be awesome.  That being said I would PREFER a 22LR.  Strongly, to the point that without a LR option I really have dismissed the BT as is.

Lohman>>>

I am with you, 22LR is where its at. My need for

a BT is not very high without a LR cylinder.

I don't know if you saw the thread I started a

while back about saving  94 lbs. of 22LR brass

up in less than 3 years, mostly from revolvers

but some with a single shot pistol and a little

rifle shooting. Couldn't catch the brass from

semi-auto pistols. That should tell you how much

   I like 22LR shooting...

In fact if the BT only came with the 22LR cyl.

   I would want it ASAP...

lohman446

Me too.  To me a plinking gun comes in 22LR.  Anything else is not a plinking gun and has to have some justification for a reason to own.  Plinking guns I own because they are just fun (and cheap) to shoot.

The reason I chose a mini over PUG was as much the lack of a second cylinder on Pugs.  I know you can get them with but noone around here stocked one with both cylinders.

westerly1965

You can get the wasp with both cylinders to can't you?

45flint

I wanted the BT as my concealed carry so the mag option made sense.  My only other NAA gun is a 4" Earl thats my 22lr plinker and with a 4 inch it is pretty good at it.  It will be interesting to see if we start to see higher serial numbers at the dealers.  If not have to agree with E.

   Steve

grayelky

You can get the wasp with both cylinders too can't you?

Yes, and with both barrel options.

As usual, I see things differently. I don't really see NAA minis as plinking guns's for me, I'd rather use a rifle or full size 22 for that. I certainly don't see spending $450 on a BT for that purpose, when that much money means you can buy just about any 22 on the market.

As Flint says, my BT is for Ultra concealed carry and so I want 22 Mag because 32 isn't available. May be it's because I have a lot of large caliber guns, that I don't find 22 mag to be prohibitively expensive although compared to 9mm and 38 spl it seems it is, for what you get.

Horses for Course again, it's funny how we all see the same gun differently.

Redhawk>

I already have a bunch of NAA minis for ultra

concealed carry, and maybe I would use a BT for

that too, but I want to plink with it also,

and I want to do it with 22LR. With all the ammo

I go through if I shot that much 22Mag, I would

have to get a job. BEEN THERE, DONE THAT...

In some parts of the country people buy guns

for protection, in other places they buy them

   to have fun..... Thats me.

I have carried a gun most of the time for 40

years, and been glad I had one a few times, but

I my world guns are fun...

I have been out in the country 3 times this week

shooting , and its only WED.

Different people, different wants, and thats

kind of what your last sentence says.

The world of guns is GREAT!!!

redhawk4

" have been out in the country 3 times this week

shooting , and its only WED".

Nothing wrong with that other than I'm jealous.

westerly1965

Me to Redhawk!!  Haven't been shooting all week grrrrr.....

coinchop

Too bad we don't all live close together,

we could have a MINI gun club.....

We could meet once a day out in the country

for a plinking meeting. New spot every day.

I kind of do that but I am the only member.

The bad thing is ,there are no dues, so I

don't operate on a big scale. I have to keep

dipping into my own pocket to pay for ammo.

Worse than that, theres no club gas pump, and

I have to buy my own gas everyday. Thats the

spendy part.. Good thing is on a day when I can't

hit sh0t, theres nobody there to laugh at me.

One thing I learned a long time ago, when you

go out to shoot and take a friend along which

is a good thing, always take somebody thats a

worse shot than you are, that way when you go

home when your done shooting, you will feel

good about how good you are.....

   Life is great !!!!!

guadman

+1 for me also re: 22LR.

Inexpensive, fun, reasonable # of handguns available.

Plus there really are some decent rounds (CCI Stinger for ex.) that can even be used for SD.

Dinadan

I agree completely about the 22LR being the best

round for fun shooting. But ... are the members of

this board really the average NAA owner? I imagine

that a lot, maybe most, NAA owners take the gun

out once or twice and fire it, then it stays in a

pocket or nightstand or car for years as a defense

without being fired. For those owners the 22MAG

will probably seem a better choice.

lohman446

You know, I ordered my mini as a convertible, I am almost kicking myself for not having ordered the LR only version of it.

Dinadan-

You have almost described me. I do not shoot my Minis very much. I have them as a last ditch, excuse me while I hall a$$ out of here to the car to get my other gun, gun. I have shot my 3" Earl more than any others, and will not fire it a great deal more. Maybe once every 2 months or so. For me, the mag cylinders get the work out. I have not even fired the LR cylinder in my Earl, and do not plan to. I have not fired my 4" Earl at all, nor my BT. For me, a LR cylinder in the BT would be a waste.

My Ruger Single Six is just the opposite. I am afraid to try and guess how many rounds of 22 LR it has fired, but I doubt a full box of Mag has gone through that cylinder.

Fortunately, there is an easy solution: buy another one. ;)

Dinadan

Grayelky,

I do not shoot as much as I once did. Part of

it is living in town nowadays. However, I plan to

change that - one reason I got a PUG. I just have

to shoot something as cool as the PUG: can't stand

to just sit around fondling it!

cedarview kid

Shooting guns is fun--but so is fondling them!
