I had a Roy Rogers gunbelt and capgun set (never got the chaps had 5 brothers and money was tight.) We all wore the cowboy shirts, had hand me downs for years- LOL. I saw Roy and Dale in person as a young guy, 1957-58 I think. They were speakers at some church sponsored event.
Dang you make a guy feel old. I don't know if my son even knowss who Roy Rogers was.

I remember saying Howdy Doody last time I visited the men's room, but I don't remember the puppet. Heck, I hardly even remember Vietnam. I'm just a kid! My parents never talked about old-time TV like Howdy Doody, but I'd be surprised if they have even had a TV in the 50's. They probably got one by the time they were married in 1959, though.

marionette puppets...I wonder what today's kids would think. The Thunderbirds were as late as the sixties I think.

Naa Collector,

Let me began by saying that I don't care if Roy Rogers was a Mormon, Jew or what ever. But it is very interesting to read about him and Dale Evans. Please key in and read his biography . I can't find where a was a member of the Mormon Church.

I fell in love with the NAA Mini.
Then I fell in love with Cvang grips.
Now along comes The Absraoka Kid and his leather.
Love again.
And the price is right.
I got a couple to check them out.
Now I have more coming.
Have to spend money while waiting for the 4" Sidewinder.

Can't argue against that threesome.  I am surprised how quickly the Kid gets these done.

Oh, I've read a fair amount about Roy Rogers. He was a class act--both he and his wife. When he used to make movies, they would use special small doorways to make him look bigger. Hehe. His career doesn't depend on his religion. I don't think most people ever knew he and his wife were Mormons--and frankly, what did it matter?

I knew some of the famous people from my parents' lives. Sometimes I feel cheated that I didn't get to grow up with them--much the way I think my kids are cheated because the don't know the famous people of my life.

Shortly after their marriage, Dale responded to the Lord's knocking at the door discipline and Rebounded.  She led her family to Christ.  Roy became a believer 74 days after the wedding.  Roy and Dale were genuine in their faith and honestly tried to live the Christian life.  They had Spiritual insight in the events around them.  However, their advance was thwarted due to lack of Bible Doctrine.  They attended the Church of the Valley Presbyterian near their home in Victorville regularly.  Dale wrote books about her experiences in the Christian faith, and she set a Christian example.  However, she was born with a strong influence from Satan and suffering from God.  Her only hope was Jesus Christ.  She and Roy were very compatible, and after they were married, they honestly tried to live the Christian life.  However, they do not appear to have been Right Man and Right Woman.  Their bone structure did not match.  Their Moon Signs did not add up.  Dale violated the scripture to get married, and God's signs were all around before, during, and after to indicate being outside His direct will and left in His permissive will.

Hmmm! Wow some link bub. My confusion over religion continues to deepen. It would be much easier if I could just take things on faith. Envy those that can a bit. Seems we have gone a little off topic here lol.

It's a God given right for anyone over sixty has the right to wander anywhere they like I figure as long as it's within the electric fence and guard towers .  :) It beats sitting on a bench outside the supermarket .

I wasn't complaining. I enjoy the diversions. I don't post a lot but read most the treads here as I find them informative and interesting. This tread has cost me about $150 and I'm not sure I'm done buying.  :)

cedarview kid

LOL, Roger. $150 spent well and I bet you aren't disappointed, eh? ;) What did ya get?

Bud, I have no idea what you said about Roy & Dale. That read like a drug trip. Not sure what you're trying to say, but hey, you're free to say it! ;)

cedarview kid

You know, I've always heard that Roy & Dale were members of the LDS, or Mormon, Church, but a quick Google check doesn't seem to confirm that. I see rumors that they were, but no real evidence of it. So, I guess I don't really know that for sure.

I got a pocket holster, belt holster and mini holster & cartridge carrier for my sidewinder. I like the holster with the basket weave I have seen here. So I might have to get a lefty for cross draw and inside the pants strong side. Both my guns went back to NAA again.  If they can get them both right I might just wear one on each side like Roy Rogers.  ;)

P.S. Bud's link is in post # 41 if you are interested.

naa collector,

[ Bud, I have no idea what you said about Roy & Dale. That read like a drug trip. Not sure what you're trying to say, but hey, you're free to say it! ;)]

I would never say anything like that! All I did was print what was on his biography. I like Roy Rogers, Dale Evans, and all the old cowboys.
Some people can pull at straws [NOT YOU] and get something out of nothing!!  Some people like to read something that isn't there.
I was just interested in his life, and was asking a question.

cedarview kid

Ah. I feel better now. That was just too bizarre. LOL.

blazinwv

Ok...back on track. I just received my first purchase from the Absaroka Kid and I agree with Steve, they are better looking in person. Fantastic quality, I will be purchasing more.

Sandy

I just got one: black leather to fit a Black Widow w/Venom laser.  Great workmanship, fit.  Color me "very pleased/satisfied".  Thanks, Kid!

cedarview kid

That one looks sharp, Blazin! Very nice.

Good stuff, eh, Sandy? I got one that fits the Venom laser as well. Will be posting a picture review shortly! ;)
