Polkadot: It appears your photo(s?) didn't post. I've had a heck of a time posting some photos, although some have been successful.

On occasion I'll receive a FAIL message that the photos were too big for the site. I take them with my iPhone, then crop them and even try to reduce the size through some difficult reduction techniques, but no success.

Lately, when I've tried to post my photos, my whole system (a newer iMac) locks up and I can't access the NAA site for hours, even after a re-boot.

I've given up on photos for this site - even though I'm sure our fellow posters would like them.

Any hints would be appreciated. sopsax

The photo appears in the post, for me, but there is message noting that it has not been approved by the moderator.

I, too, had issues trying to post images. I headed to the FAQ section and there is a thread there where you can practice, and they give all sorts of hints.

I had to reduce my photo to a size acceptable for upload. I used the Gnu Image Manipulation Program [GIMP] and when performing a SAVE AS on a .jpg, it calculates/displays the size of the file for different compression ratios. Just keep compressing it until it fits and hope it doesn't start looking too blocky.

I think it's about being a Probational user. After that last spamming we went though I think the mod's have to approve everthing for you until you move off of the probation period.

Not for me . . . I was off probation and my issues occurred long before the most recent spam-attack.

I HAVE been able to load some photos but each effort was difficult. However, the latest effort to do so locked up the site (for me at least) and locked up my computer - and not because of probational issues or spam-attacks. I am not inclined to find additional software or programs just to do this, though. If it worked before it should still work. sopsax

I'm by no means a tech wiz, but have you checked your firewall settings?

No, I haven't checked "firewall" settings, but I'm on an iMac (Apple) and never knew of, or found, anything like a firewall setting. In years past I did run PC's at home but I've forgotten much of that mess (PC's). Apples are very simple and rarely are they involved in hacks, viruses, and all the problems associated with PC's.

Still, I don't know everything (I know, a shock to read!!) so if someone out there has a simple in-machine solution for MY problem, I'd sure appreciate it. In the meantime, no more photos from me - and I have some I'm sure the site-members would like. sopsax

I just bought a new NAA Short! Been wanting one for a long time. It goes well with my current PUG. One NAA deserves another. I haven't shot the new "Short" yet, but will soon.

Sure would like to do a "Ranger" with that Otto guy that engraves . Now that guy has the knack , not too much and not too little especially with that blackening out off areas . Some of these engravers go too far and kinda make the piece ugly if thats possible.
