Does anyone think that a 17 HMR version of the NAA Black Widow would be a good idea ?
I think it would be a good step up, with little required in tooling a magnum version.
The barrel would only be suitable for the 17 HMR.

Somebody already thought it was a good idea .... did it ... realized it wasn't a good idea cause the spent casings back out & lock up the action.    File 13 .....

Now a .32 ACP .....

I used to carry a .17HMR Black Widow a few years ago. I never had any problems with it, although there have been reports of jamming with the various NAA .17's. I have since sold it, though. I still own a .17HMR Minimaster and .17HMR Magnum-framed mini.

First, WELCOME TO THE FORUM!

As mentioned, even the decision makers at NAA thought it a good idea - for a while. I have one, but it was unfired when I acquired it, and so shall it remain. Generally speaking just about any bottle-necked case will typically cause problems in a revolver. Seems the shoulder angle helps to push the case against the recoil shield and causes problems. The only manufacturer today making a revolver for a bottlenecked case, to my limited knowledge anyway, is Taurus. They still show their heavy framed revolver available in 17HMR.
