alternative carry options

Has anyone tried using one of these wrist wallets or something similar to carry a naa mini?  Saw it on a flight last week, and been thinking about getting one to try ever since.  I know the 22 short fits in a gerber multi tool pouch or a 100s cigarette pack fully closed, but looking for something to alternate carry the 22 mag.  I like the Lost River Neck holster, but it doesn't fit into all the social activities my wife commits me to ;).  I mostly pocket carry today, but I am always looking for better hide aways, or ways to get a second one on me.  Any input on deep cover carry/alternate carry is appreciated.

A .22 short frame fits the 5th pocket of most blue jeans. I like toting mine that way.

You could try splitting a wrist sweatband and sleeve carrying. You could go "Dirty Harry" and scotch tape it to your body.

Shirt pocket (wrapped in a handkerchief,) rolled up in a t-shirt sleeve or in a tshirt pocket underneath another shirt, neck wallet, rolled up in the top of your tube sock, cell phone pouch, inside the lining of your hat, boot top, behind a large lapel or large collar of a jacket, stuffed in that loop of cloth on the back of your necktie, so many options because minis are so small. NAA's nylon ankle holster is rather comfortable (to me,) I carry a BW that way sometimes. Put tape over the hammer and sight blade and put it in a condom for wear in in a swimsuit in that stash pocket that most of them seem to have...

I have a pair of canvas cargo pants with extremely wide belt loops, as in maybe 2 1/2 inches? I could horizontally carry two pairs of minis in them with a shirt pulled down over them. Maybe I should start doing that? :) I also have a weird shirt made in Vietnam that looks like a normal button-down shirt, yet has many pockets in strange locations. I could carry 5 minis in that thing alone, it has one pocket you get to from the side and it's behind the left pocket... I swear it was intended for a hideout piece and a guardian fits perfectly.

You could get a needle and thread and sew a bit of cloth on the inside of something and basically holster wherever you want.

Google "stash pocket" for clothes with hidden pockets in them.

There is also the "Smartcarry," basically like a money belt for guns. That looks like a guardian in the pocket of their display model. http://www.smartcarry.com/ It's basically similar to the "Thunderwear," http://www.thunderwear.com/aboutus.asp

First pic is a shoe with a factory-made tongue stasher. Second is a "concealment shirt."

I bought a smart carry for when I was carrying my snub nose S&W.   They really are great for larger gun in deep carry.  But probably overkill for NAA.  It is hard to beat the pocket holster.  I use a neck as an alternative but pocket is just natural, well hidden, and ready.

...all it takes is a little creativity...

TGJ; what is the model name for that holster?

TwoGunJayne

It's the blue variant of the Payless Shoes Glock Holster. It also comes in black! :)

RogueTS1

Can one get it in basketweave? LOL..............

Thankfully, this was a Freedom Arms revolver.
A woman had it hidden in the last place the police would look.

I can't get a CCW, but if I could, I would use the Grip holster inside of a cell phone belt holster.   Just make sure the hammer side was down, so only plastic was visible on top.

trotterlg

Even without a grip holster they are smaller than most cell phones.  Larry

Kevin Why can't you get a ccw???

Great idea on the cell phone pouch. Western wear store makes them to fit any size phone/gun you got for twenty five bucks. Real nice leather and mini Texas Ranger replica badge on the outside. I been threatening to buy one to put the phone in..lol. Thanks for the close up pic of the flop down handles. Mine is currently being sent off to have that feature added along with fixing it..so that is the best view I have seen of what that are supposed to look like. Is that factory floppers? Is so thats purty..lol. I am getting it all spiffed up for the Little Bride to carry. She goes up and gambles with Injuns a lot. Dont hurt to be packing on that deal. Never know when they get too much fire water and go on the warpath etc.

I use the holster grip shirt tucked, one in each front pocket. TGJ, never figured you for pink shoes ::)

The Short fits behind and to the side of the cell phone in the front shirt pocket.  It's weight is a factor though.

Bigbird48

If the weight in the shirt pockets a bother why don't you just put it in your pants pocket?
Also I'm wondering if there might be a way to put a pocket clip on the grips and just clip it inside a pocket. Someone said the shorts fit in the pocket watch pocket. So you could just clip it there easy out too.

Sure it aint a new idea..but..an old pal from years back got a jeweler to solder a fitting on the handle and wore the mini around his neck like a necklace. Leather strap or maybe a chain. I forget right now. That should keep it hid good.

Kentucky Kevin

E-bay normal has some kydex holsters designed for neck wear. I think they will print badly and be slow on the draw.

Thanks for the tip on ebay. Got to thinking some of the neck worn ID card display options in use nowadays could prob hold a mini just fine. I carried mine around for years in a small..just the right sized padded case originally used to protect radar tuning forks. Stuff in back pocket and nobody ever seemed to know. Now I did pull it out one day to show to a fella and upon taking a look the barrel was full of synthetic fuzz which come off the inside of the carry case. Each time the gun was stuck in there it apparently plowed off a little fuzz to fill up the barrel over time. It was packed tight. Glad I did not get around to having to shoot it in that condition. Could have been multiple projectiles going every whichaway. I check the  barrel for obstructions much more often these days.

I love my DIY deep concealment T shirt.  I bought a nice sports-type compression T at Walley's for $8, and sewed on a holster patch (www.holsterpatch.com) purchased for $7, making a comfy setup for $15 total.  I sewed the patch high under the arm (similar to the pic,) and even with my BW in it I can hardly feel it and the elastic holds it most securely.  Not a fast draw rig though, but accessible through a button shirt.  I can wear it even during active work or play.

I have no tie to the company, just sharing a favorite carry method.

Looks very kewlish. Thanks for the view. Wished I knowed how to sew..kick kick. I briefly considered one of the purpose built holster shirts but couldn't quite get the pic on how comfortable it would be..whether it be saggin and causing issues. Surely love my http://www.crossbreedholsters.com/ All it take on that is two tee shirts instead of one. The fella who makes em seems to be a real nice guy and give discounts to doughnut munchers. Fat boys who sweat a lot need the horse hide model. Not sure why horses can shed more water than cows..but the fella say thats right. Must be true..lol.

I like the inside the pants holster, also works well clipped inside the pocket, same side, with the oversized rosewood grips. I tried the folding holster but it had play in it when snapped into the firing position and didn't feel right like the oversized grips do, for me.

Ok thanks for the input on that. Not sure I could hit or miss stuff better or worse with a wobbly flopper. Sorta suspect it wold not bother me that much..less it fell off or somethng. lol

TGJ, them are cool!  I could see a bow tie and those on my son the engineer. He recently moved to Texas and sent a video of him all nerded up shooting an AR. Pocket protectors and assault rifles, God bless Texas!

TwoGunJayne

Heh. A mini fits in a pocket protector, right? Make it a REAL "protector!"  :D

Here's a tuckable IWB suspender button holster. Combine two of these with the double derringer suspenders for 4 minis.

Ahh... cowboy leather.

Just clip them on your belt loops, you don't need the suspender buttons. I like the looks of this one, didn't see where he offers a double though.

cedarview kid

That's cool. I've never worn suspenders in my life, though. Should I start? ;)

Bigbird48

Me to Naa I need suspenders my pants fall down all the time, no hips, and I can't tighten a belt enough  :D ;D ;) :)

RiverRat9533

They are cool enough to get a person to consider getting one, or is it pair?

Proper pair would go well with my tuxedo on opera/symphony nights.

Swolf, I just realized I didn't thank you yet for a post that I really enjoyed very much. THANKS! I thought it was damned cool!

There is a lot of great outside the box thinking on this post, really good posts.  FYI I did go ahead and order that item, and it holds the short all the way yo the mag no problem, draw is really slow, but its better than nothing at all.  That being said i have to get used to wearing something on my wrist again, have not had a watch on in a really long time.  If nothing else it makes a great companion for jogging, I can have a mini, and my ids zipped on my wrist, and not worry about them bouncing around.
