I only wear a suit to weddings and funerals. Unfortunately, seems like there are more funerals these days. Only wore a tux once in my life; my own wedding!

Formal attire, if properly fitted, is very comfortable. As much if not more than jeans and a t-shirt. Hard to do anything laboriously but comfortable none the less.

My first wife threatened me with violence when I offered to wear one of those "tuxedo t shirts" to the wedding. She had no sense of humor about that; few things are more serious than a lady on wedding day.

that was funny

Been doin' that dancin' stuff for over 50 years, the most recent 15 of them armed 100% of the time.  I no longer "check at the door"!  The only thing that slows me down now is a case of Creaping Ageism.

If it won't stay put while I'm tumbling down a cliff, getting tossed by a car, or crashing into a tree on your bike, then that carry option is not for me.  Like I posted recently, my carry option for 32acp served as my luge down a flight of ice-covered stairs just this winter.  Never lost the gun, there was no damage to it, no negligent discharge, and to boot it protected my hip from probable disaster.  I am not saying it didn't hurt, but it proved its worth in carry.

Comparatively, a good friend of mine carries "stuff the blaster in my front pocket" style.  I offered to buy him a pocket holster when I saw his barrel poking through the hole it made.  "Naw, I just buy new pants when that happens."  Not the best alternative carry option.

Guess that is a matter of where you live and the lifestyle you live.

From observing my first wife, they get pretty serious on divorce day too!

So did you wear one of those "tux-T-shirts" on that day?  ;D ;D

Agreed, being well heeled does not require getting blisters on your feet.  8) 8)

Ask someone in the local orchestra where they get their formal wear fitted.  The tailors who cater to musicians can do just about any alterations, even those not related to formal wear.

TwoGunJayne

Speaking of custom tailoring, I've heard of people wearing their carry rigs while being measured for alterations.

Yep......................... and a great tailor is a wonderful thing........................... They know their way around a proper suit, coat, shirt and gloves.

That would be known as "tactical" tailoring, because it is a very "tactical" idea.

Wow!  For a moment I thought I had accidentally entered the 'Gay Guys With Guns' forum.
Can anyone tell me if it is OK to wear brown shoes with a grey suit?

The color of your shoes and belt should match.

You should match your shoes  with your grips, [excluding stag grips]
match your belt with your holster.   lol   8)

TwoGunJayne

I agree, black grips and a brown holster are just gauche.  ::)

Goatpacker

Shouldn't the black grips be used only from Labor Day to Easter, then changed to something lighter for summer? Stags can be used year round.

Kentucky Kevin

I've only worn a Tux twice, prom and 2nd wedding, and my red stag derringer for the wedding was wife approved, I told her I had to because my best man, her brother, doesn't pack heat

I was married with my Black Widow in the NAA nylon ankle holster. I think the statue of limitations is up on that one as I'm no longer married to that one.

Phew! Glad she never found out. It's extremely irritating when people who claim to support the Constitution and BoR refuse to carry and beg others not to. Some people just never need to know about your pocket knife or your mini; they'll ask you not to carry them.

Oh well.

Kentucky Kevin

Thank God, mine supports me

Me too. She has her own mini with pink grips and pink Kydex holster. Had to get her that so she would leave mine alone.
