We might need to run that young man by the Hood for some finer instructions in packing strategies. Heard of an eleven year old who could walk out with 17 stuffed into a hoodie. Now this was on a shopping spree at the gun store. Prob would not have been comfortable to lug em around all day.

Joe necklace holster?

Wrap it in a cloth handkerchief and put it in your shirt pocket (or even your back pocket) with a bit of the hank sticking out. With practice, you can pull the cloth and draw the piece.

Rag carry.

And it allows folks like bigwheel to display their colors and look "gangsta".

Kevin Why can't you get a ccw???

He lives in a state that doesn't respect his rights: Evil Kalifornia.
Pretty much.   You need the CCW application signed off by your Chief of Police (city) or Sheriff (unincorporated).  In my county, the chances are slim to none.   Even the owner of a gun store couldn't get one.   He claimed he wanted a CCW to avoid being robbed when opening or closing the store.   Makes sense... but not to the Chief.

In some ways I like this system because this state is so screwed up.   If this was a "shall issue" state, the ACLU and other groups would be whining that gang members aren't getting CCW's and other groups that shouldn't even own a gun aren't getting CCW's.    The land here is wonderful, the politics are moronic.

Put your NAA in a "slip in" leather eyeglass case in your pocket or smart phone case on your belt.
First person to say, "Hand over your phone" is in for a shock.

In modern times. there are various kinds of secure devices to provide safe environment for people. For example the security camera can be used to monitor suspicious person come and go in the office or people's own home. Besides the Safety Detectors also can be used to set up a security system to ensure our safety in the daily life.

What has this got to do with alternative carry options

Bigbird48

OK now back on subject LOL somewhere I saw a holster in a pair of suspenders, thought it was here but I don't see it. I thought that was a great option. I just picked up a 38sp Derringer and am thinking that suspender holster would be cool. ;D

For the rare times Carol insists I wear a tux, she encourages me to don my black 5.11 V-Neck Holster Shirt.  She calls it my "hit man" shirt.  It fits like a body glove.

It does get warm in temps over 80degF, but in winter it serves well to retain body heat.

Decent review and live action shots: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DeJrS4b3pfg
Contrary to the stated price in the review, these go for $70, but are well made and designed to properly carry the weight.

I wear this "body glove" as an undershirt under a black dress shirt.  This allows for the removal of my tux jacket without exposure of the firearm.  Wallet and other male accoutrements go in one pocket, firearm in the other.  With this shirt, nothing goes into the tux pants, belt, or jacket.  Usually, those pockets are sewn shut anyway.  I find that a slip-free in-the-pants front-pocket holster helps me to locate the diminutive firearm of choice in the "holster pocket".

The only problem is the pockets are big/deep enough for a full-sized 45 auto!
But I could do back handsprings (if I could do back handsprings anymore) and nothing would fall out.

The nifty thing is that this shirt is also comfortable on Carol and fits *her* like a body glove.  She has a copious front porch, yet the "holster pockets" accomodate accordingly.  For her, an entire paddle holster is slipped into the "holster pocket" to keep the gun from going too deep to reach in a cross-draw.

For black tie events I use my Galco Miami Classic shoulder holster system.  I figure that it's improper to take your coat off at a true black tie event, so the fact that I need to keep the jacket on for concealment is a non-issue.  Ankle holster makes a good spot for a BUG.

Another important point, if the event requires one to wear gloves, get some practice shooting with similar gloves on.  You might be surprised at the difference wearing gloves can make when shooting.

Agreed about the coat at the event.  What happens to me are the post-event private invitations, at which the coats and ties hold a meeting on a couch or chair.  "Take your coat and tie off, Classanr; make yourself comfortable."  This is where the real business deals are struck, so I gotta go there.  Oh, and I carry Carol's gun as well, 'cause she can't carry a purse to these events, just a tiny silk envelope they call a "clutch."  Mine is in the left-side pocket, her's is in the right-side pocket.

+1 on the gloves observation.

As for the draw through a buttoned shirt, I actually have practiced popping buttons off with a flying hand wedge.  That is easier than going through hook/loop shirt fastenings behind fake buttons, but I'm going to try snaps that look like buttons next.

Rip the buttons. Yes, I've prepped for that one too with those concealment t shirts. Rip the buttons, they sew right back on. Buttons and thread are cheap.

Cheap practice.

"Flying hand wedge," as Classanr so eloquently stated, or "Superman Spread."

Unless you can hook this to a gun, I'm a 'fraid that is certainly OT. Note he only had 1 post before he was canned.  :-[

One is not supposed to wear a black dress shirt with a tux. A white shirt is the only proper shirt to wear with Black tie dress code. Just saying.................... LOL

Astute observation.

I now will appear to wander a bit from the topic to explain why this option works so well:

I don't follow the rules all that closely.  Black Tie events bore me to sleep.  They want me there all that much?  Then it's white tux, or very dark blue tux, black shirt, black shoes, black belt, black tie.  I don't recall ever wearing a black tux in my life.  Got married in white.  Carol went pastel blue.  Nobody was looking at me, I can assure you.  And by wearing black, nothing printed under the *form-fitting* attire.

Bringing it all back around to the intent of the topic:
Like I say, Carol calls it my "Hit Man" shirt.
It can carry a whole lot of "hit-stuff" and still keep me looking unassuming.
They also make 'em in white for those who insist on proper attire for the social function.

Ah, yes I missed that point as well.  A black dress shirt could however be worn with a morning suit for a daytime formal event.  Also, it is improper to wear both a wrist watch and a pocket watch at the same time.  Somewhere online I have previously seen a photo of Prince Charles committing that fashion felony.

Next, you're going to tell me that suspenders and a belt to support my extensive CCW and EDC loadout is not fashionably allowed. :)

Well................... now that you broach the subject....................... one should wear either a belt or braces, but never both and belts are strictly prohibited with Black or White Tie; braces only. Casual wear though is open to anything.

My idea of "dressing up" for a special occasion is getting my jeans starched and brushing the dirt off my hat. If an event requires more than that then I will stand outside and drink beer while watching through the window.

That's because black tie and white tie dictate either a cummerbund or waistcoat be worn.  Typically a pair of formal slacks will have an adjustable waistband thus avoiding the need for a belt.  A shoulder holster system, like the Galco Miami Classic also avoids the need to wear a belt and thus lends itself well to formal attire.

My first wife threatened me with violence when I offered to wear one of those "tuxedo t shirts" to the wedding. She had no sense of humor about that; few things are more serious than a lady on wedding day.

From observing my first wife, they get pretty serious on divorce day too!
