Extended grip for NAA Short

I got these carbon-fiber grips from designergrips.com. They allow a much better hold on the tiny gun for more accurate (and more confident) shooting, without significantly changing the gun's concealability. I also love the way they look.

I've tried the stock grips, the rubber bird's-head grips, and the holster grip, and nothing was quite right. For me, this is the best option.

Here's another view.

That is really cool! Now you've got me thinking about dressing up mine...

Those look like they would improve the shootability' Unfortunately the Gun deal that I made on Tues, to meet Wed, I called and he said he tried to contact me and that we would meet thurs, I called and his wife had sold it wed

That first picture I posted makes the grips look a little big in proportion to the gun. That's not the case--I was just at a slightly funky angle with my crappy cell-phone camera. The website has a much better picture.

Good pictures you have one from the rear ? Like to see how they finished off the back curve .
TO ARMS , TO ARMS the liberal socialists are coming . Load and prime your weapons . Don't shoot till you see their UN patches or the Obama bumper stickers , literally . And shoot any politician that says he wants to help you or us .

antares_b

Here's the gun in the holster, from the back. If you look closely, you can see that there is no gap between the grips and the frame. The dark area that you see at the bottom of the frame just indicates the thickness of the grip material.

Mighty handsome grips and great photography. Believe that would work just fine. Keep the contact info handy in case my new floppy wobblers dont suit. They are n route from the brood house up in Utah or somewhere like that. How much do them cost? If you dont mind a person being nosey of course.  Do they come in any other colors? Thanks.

OV-1D

Thanks there antares_b I've been looking at those carbon fiber pieces great colors and now this style nice stuff . They finished them off real smooth on the back that material cuts like razor blades if its left with an edge . Gotta get some of these , thanks again .

frimsure

they run about $60 a pair.

antares_b

They're $45, plus $5 shipping--not cheap, but well made by one person who does custom grips. You can see all the grips that he makes for NAA guns here: http://www.designergrips.com/samples/NAA/.

The "extended" ones for the Short are available in 7 colors. Mine are "silver reflective carbon."

I like that look, do you have the stock grips you could snap a pic to see the size difference without guessing?

antares_b

Having trouble getting my camera to focus in the fading light, so this was the best I could do for a size comparison.

jw1128

Thank you, looks like it adds just enough without compromising much of the small size.  Guess I'll be getting some grips ordered tomorrow ;)

bigwheel

Thanks for the comparisons pics and sounds like JW is a smart feller to get some of those.

I just bought a pinfire 2mm ultra mini and will now have to dig in the couch for spare change. I'm thinking I want a set of those for my short... and some of my other pieces. Wow, I wasn't planning on dropping coin like this!  :) Oh well, that's what addictions are for!

Uncle_Lee

It looks like it keeps the middle finger out from behind the trigger and that is good.

Well, Designergrips.com was sold and the new owner is ramping up to begin production again. Maybe I'll be able to score a review set? :)

I finally got off my lazy butt and shot it yesterday afternoon. Due to the ammo shortage, I hadn't fired it in 6 months aside from the odd snake or two. I was very sad at how rusty I've gotten. I only managed 3 to 6 hits out of 15 on a soda can at 20 paces. Moving back and forth using the 100 round box of CCI CB short caps, I found that I could manage 80% hits on a soda can at 5 to 8 paces.

I think an extended grip would really help it's accurate range and yes... I'm trying to make it into something it's not. It *IS*, however, the NAA that I actually shoot the most. I don't know why.

I originally bought my NAA Short because I'm the designated snake and mouse killer. You know, when the cats drag in a wounded animal?

I was kind of getting fed up with it, so I decided to make a statement. The looks on people's faces when I drew an honest-to-God mousegun were worth it. It's just the thing for mousehunting. I don't think there are .22 short shot loads anymore, though. Too bad, really. I'd use them.

"I can't believe you bought a gun just for mice!"  ;D

It usually fits in the 5th jeans pocket, but I usually just drop it in a shirt pocket. I literally use it for snakes and mice. If it isn't in my pocket, it's probably on my desk or something... next to my Berloque pistol.  8) It's almost always at hand when it's time to "bust a cap" in a mouse or snake. I would use actual high velocity like Winchester SuperX for anything bigger, those caps are just for plinking and vermin.

If CVang offered one of his extended grip setups for the short, I'd buy one. He doesn't, does he? Short is different again from the LR frame, right?

When Brian gets rolling with production, I aim to get a set of silver carbon fiber extended for my short. If it puts me up to 80% hits on a soda can at 20 paces, it's worth it to me. I'm waiting on an email back from him.

With my user name, this statement makes me nervous!!  :)

NAA offers their oversized rosewood grips for the short as well shown from their website:

http://northamericanarms.com/accessories/s-accessories/s-grips/grw-l.html

I do admit very much to liking the carbon fiber look though!

TwoGunJayne

Oh, cool. Didn't realize that LR grips were the same a shorts. I'm going to do this as well. Try them both.

...and fret not, I doubt the cat will maul you and drag you inside.  ;)

OV-1D

TwoGun : unless you live in South Africa where the cats grow larger .

I have been looking for grips that look close to those (for the short). No luck! Really like that look....

TwoGunJayne

I sure hope Brian pulls through his cancer. I'd give him some business in a heartbeat. Just tell me when he's shipping.
