How has one or has shot one?  Curious about recoil and how it compares to 380acp and 32acp.  I would like to get my hands one one to test out, but seems to be hard to come by.

A ballistic test of .32 naa! Read the links that the guy posts. While you're at it, leave a positive feedback for him. He seems rather awesome, as far as pocket pistol people go. He needs encouragement to post here, I think.

Then read Mndoug's informals http://naaminis.com/smf/index.php?topic=564
Mndoug is a superveteran here.

Then get a Guardian in .380 acp, .32 acp and .32 naa because you never know when one of those cartridges will be unavailable. They are also slightly differently sized and you may find some shirt pockets take the .32 acp, but not the .380 or the .32 naa (same frame). I love a Guardian for shirt pocket carry.

If I had to only take two of the three, I'd get a .32 and a .32 naa due to the slightly different sizing. A .380 Guardian is cool and all, but in my personal opinion a Beretta 84 13-shot (not the post-ban single stack version) is a step up in size and category. It won't fit any shirt pocket, though. That's one thing the Guardian line does pretty well.

Of course, some people want to ignore the .32 caliber and go straight for the .380. It's up to you, personal tastes and all that. So many pocket pieces, so little time...

I've got one.
Haven't shot it.
Ammo costs too darn much.
So I have it just to collect.

Well looks like that one just got higher on the list, good data.  Waiting on mu PUG to show, got money set back for a sidewinder when i can get my hands on it, but then maybe a 32naa will be available.

Buds had one listed earlier this week for about a day.  If you do business with Buds, put it on your wish list and keep an eye out for the in-stock notification.  I've snagged a couple hard to gets that way.

Aww shucks Jayne.  I appreciate it, but I don't need encouragement as much as I need to find a Mini to start testing with.

Ammo to test - Got it
Gel Blocks - Got it
Curiosity - Yep
Time - Sure
NAA Mini - Nope

I have one, too. I bought it mostly because the opportunity came up and the guy dropped his price due to lack of interest. It came with 2 or 3 boxes of Cor-Bon ammo. I haven't shot it, either. I doubt I could replace my ammo right now. I still like it, though. But I don't need it, so I might sell it.

I have one and carry it regularly; therefore, I shoot it at the range regularly, gotta train with what you carry.
It is not what I would chose for a pleasant afternoon of target shooting because ammo is expensive and it will beat you up after a long range session; however I choose it for the slight ballistic advantage over a 380. BTW I would bet a G380 would punish you also.

When I do my CCW quals I use a Makarov and I use the Makarov for fun plinking and target shooting.
One of these days I will rebarrel my Mak for 32NAA, the 4" barrel yields 1490 fps and 290 ft-lbs energy at the muzzle with a 60 gr JHP.
of course first I need some dies to convert and load 380 brass. They are out there just gotta find them.

I bet it would be very comparable to shooting a Guardian 380, which I've done plenty. And yeah, it's not terribly pleasant after a few rounds, especially on a cold day (I shoot outdoors).

.54Cal_Kidd

I got to shoot my Taurus pt738 .380 today and to be honest the .40 cal S&W 4006 was a LOT nicer to shoot.
I was planning to shoot 50 rounds to loosen it up but after 25 I went back to shooting the Black Widow.
A tiny .380 is a handful to shoot. (Although I did put them all in a 2.5" group at 20'  ;D)

Yea the tiny plastic 380s suck to shoot, the keltec 32 was not nearly as unpleasant, sig 238 or the Walter pk380 are a good time though for that cartridge.

A plastic DB380 isn't unpleasant to shoot at all. I wouldn't even say a plastic DB9 is unpleasant, but it does have some pretty good muzzle flip. A compensated barrel helps with that, though.

bud

My DB380 is also fun to shoot, with recoil that is easy to handle.

TwoGunJayne

I'm torn on Diamondback. I want the DB380 with 32 naa barrel, but what I REALLY want is the DB9 with .380 and .32naa kit.

No word on that in the forseeable future. I'm sad.

I don't see why that wouldn't work. You'd just have to have weaker springs for the .380 and .32NAA.

Not gonna happen, though. I asked Scott at the Diamondback factory about getting a .32NAA barrel for my DB380 and he said they have been discontinued and they don't plan to produce more. I think they've even discontinued the ported barrels--I no longer see them on their website. I'm very disappointed on both accounts.

I'd like this too, but it will never happen because special magazines would be required to use 380 and 32NAA in a frame built to accommodate 9mm length cartridges.  I'm sure DBF would see this as too much investment for too little sales.

If you have an itch for a multi-caliber kit, you can't do much better than this.  http://mousegunaddict.blogspot.com/2012/11/glock-27-incredibly-versatile-pocket.html

I wonder if you could insert a magazine spacer, like some people have done to try to prevent .32ACP rimlocks?

That's exactly how you would do it.  If you every have a chance to look at a 9mm magazine for the 1911 platform, you will see the spacer is welded into the rear of the magazine.  Unfortunately, the 9mm single stack magazines are known to be the least reliable 1911 platform magazines on earth.

Just as ljutic mentioned above.... the Glock 27 is a great multi caliber platform.  I have had a G27 now for a few years (great gun).  At one time I had a .357 sig barrel for it and hardly ever shot it in that caliber (a bit pricey).  I sold the .357 barrel and then I bought a LWD .9mm conversion barrel, turning my G27 into a G26.  Everyone has said "there is no way I would carry a conversion barrel as my CCW."  Well, I have had THOUSANDS of rounds through my G27 with my LWD .40 - 9 conversion, and it has functioned FLAWLESSLY.  When I carry it, I carry .40 cal, but would not hesitate to carry it as a 9mm.

All you have to do on these guns is change out the barrel, then change out the mag.  Great system IMO.

Ah, gotcha. I've ordered my first 1911 and it hasn't arrived yet, so I learned something today. BTW, my 1911 is 9mm/22TCM. I'm assuming the bottlenecked .22TCM will be much more reliable than a 9mm might be.

my 32 is a buck a bullet and that was before the shortage..
its my car gun..I would sell it but the box of silvertip ammo plus 3 holsters would make it expensive.

Should have added this picture in the first place, but was lazy.  I looked at 22TCM, but would only do it if I could convert a 1911 I currently own.  Neat concept and I'm really interested in how it works out for you.

Not to be redundant yet again..but..best little .380 I ever experienced was an OMC Backup. Highly accurately and surprising ranges for its size..which is real small. Got to doing some googling and looks like its still make it under the AMT brand. I dont think anybody wanting a pint sized .380 could beat it. Notice from the movie its twice as heavy as the plastic guns. Guess thats why it aint unpleasant to shoot.  Heres a movie of test run. Now the guy is fulla sheet that its a close range weapon. It can be kept in the black all day long at 25 yards. This would be for those who do not mind the 1911 format of cocked and locked with a grip safety.

I realize that this maybe a dunb newbie question.  But is reloading equipment adaptable to the 32NAA and 25NAA calibers?

phydeaux88

Lee used to make dies for the .32 NAA they may still have some around. If not they can most likely make a custom set for you.

G50AE

Thank you for answering my question.  With the current ammo shortage, the ability to reload for a given caliber can be a serious consideration.

Uncle_Lee

I know that there is no ammo right now but is there any primers.
I mean has any one tryed to buy any in the last 2 weeks??????

When I picked up the Zip a couple of weeks ago, the area where his primers are was empty, clean, not even any dust. Like all the ammo shelves.
I didn't have a chance to talk about it with him.
I just took it that there wasn't any.

Uncle you have a good point fortunately I have horded them since the last ammo crisis, you know the one precipitated by BO's first election.
No I do not want to sell any, they are mine and I am gonna keep them ya hear no matter how much you beg they  are mine mine mine mine
AHAHAHAHAHAHA :P

I

I know a pretty good source of large pistol, magnum large pistol, small rifle, large rifle, and magnum large rifle primers are.

This is, of course, unless 10000 people decend upon the area and when the restock happens the price goes up... wait a minute.... nevermind.

RogueTS1

I need large and small pistol primers and powder; preferably Hogdson's.
