.22LR Black Widow arrived this afternoon!
Had it delivered to an FFL with a range so I could try it out.
Very nice shooter! First 10 rounds of regular ol' Remington was in a 3" group at 20 feet.
The high rounds were 5 .22 short.
The 'Kid is pleased.  ;D

Thanks icelax!

(Take no notice of the label on the target...they were on sale... :-[)

Looks like it needs a little brother now, or a little sister... whichever.

Maybe a cool little Short should be the next addition  ;)

.54Cal_Kidd - good looking pair. My BW is pretty accurate, especially when I use the oversize grips. I do not really like those grips, and I usually keep a pair of smaller grips on it. Did you get the LR cylinder too? I usually shoot LR or Shorts, right now Mags are hard to find even if i wanted to use them for plinking.

Fine looking gun and group. Congrats. Betcha the shorts went higher because they were going slower. Seems to work like that anyway.

.54Cal_Kidd

Both are .22LR only.
The next will have to wait until we pay our fair share of Obuttheads next vacation.
If they build the super hog, I'm in.  ;D
I may see what I can do for home made grips, the ones for the mini worked out pretty well.
I considered getting a convertible but icelax had this one for sale and I really don't have a need for a magnum.
I don't subscribe to the 'bigger is better' school of thought. Two accurately placed small shots count for more than a dozen poorly placed larger ones.
I'm kind of lazy and cheap that way...minimal cost and effort to get the job done.  ;D ;D

Ok..thought you said you had shot a cycle of shorts and they went high. Sorry about that. I aint real perceptive. lol. Now I admire anybody's skill and confidence level to rely on a mini gun as a main battle weapon..but some of us may be too smart to try that.  I could introduce you to an old Sheriff down in the SE parts who shot a mean old thick skulled blue gum tush hawg direct between the eyes at point blank range with a .380. Wouldnt ya know it just knocked the guy out for a while as the bullet followed the contour of his skull around to the back. The guy was fine in the morn. The Sheriff take the .380 out on the courthouse steps and pulverized it with a sledge hammer. Then he pulled out his new 1911. I dont think that young man would rely on a mini .22 cept as a back up to a real gun. Get a grip here. Thanks.

Destroy a functional gun due to user error, then switch to a different platform. Interesting philosophy. I'm assuming that the gun-destroyer didn't cut the animal he'd supposedly dispatched?

bigwheel

Between the eyes is user error? lol. Think I get your drift..two in the chest and one in the head makes the Jolly Green Giant drop dead? He still had bullets left in the gun. Now I see. Not sure how much firearms training was inflicted on high Sheriffs back in them days. The young man obviously needed some tutoring.  Now the old Sheriff at Beeville could have give him some lessons. He shot most of the alleged perps six times..cuz thats how many bullets his gun held. More rational plan you think? Now I guess he had to space the shots out a bit when he was killing multiples. Very interesting character named Vale Ennis if you ever want to read up on him. Several links on Google.
