Thanks for the headsup Chopprs. $459 shipped USPS to my ffl sounds good(he only charges me $15 for the transfer). That price is gonna hurt a little with my central AC just going out and getting replaced, but I figure I can sell a couple of non-NAA firearms to make up for it.

cedarview kid

Wow! Wahoo! Gonna order tomorrow!

grayelky

Once again, anyone in the greater Acworth metropolitan area who is getting one of these, I will handle the transfer at no charge.

NAA has my FFL on file, just have them send it to Acworth Guns.

Did I miss the final specs for the break top somewhere? Barrel length, caliber, weight etc.?

Beautiful little pistol and a fine and fair price for what is basically a custom made weapon.  Still, even at $449. it's out of my range for now.

Good luck to all who are itching to add it to their arsenal!

Yah, well, you want some more bad news, Unc? October 15 is the shipping date, right? So you will probably have a couple more days of waiting after that. Hopefully mine doesn't take too long to travel thd 20 miles from the factory. Bummer I can't just pick it up, eh?

Uncle_Lee

Ya, 10/15 is the shipping date. From now till then there will be no sleep.

After 10/15 I will be setting by the phone.

Probably around 11/1 I will call my dealer and he will say "Wow Lee, they have been here for a couple of weeks and I just forgot to call you. Sorry.

   Lee, why are you screeming?"

Uncle Lee-

You are the type of customer I'd love to have. I tell all of mine that I will call them as soon as I get their gun logged and it's ready. With email notification from FedEx and UPS, I have had calls come in BEFORE I CAN OPEN THE BOX wanting to know if their gun is there!

I order and let him know I have ordered and about what it is and when it will be in.

When it gets there he calls me. He has never "forgot".

When I get to the shop, I unpack it and look it over then he logs it in and we do the paperwork and he logs it out.

I pay him and pick up another copy of his FFL and go home with my toy.

We have been doing this for years.

Just got my order in...conversion cylinders are not available at this time, possibly in the future.

bud

Not trying to be a stuck in the mud, but I just can't seem to get too excited about the new top break revolver.

Help me get excited!  Why do I need another .22 mag? I love to get excited over guns, but I'm having a hard time with this one. Couldn't

wait on my Pug and BW, and others, but this one I need someone to sell me on it.

coinchop

I think I will wait till I can get one with both cylinders. I did that when I wanted an Earl and saved a lot of money and got what I wanted. As much as I shoot, my mag. cylinders don't get much use.

The next thing is if I walk into a gun shop and buy a gun, I hand them my money, fill out the paperwork, and walk out the door with my gun.

I had a FFL for 25 years and never made a penny off it. Never charged anybody to do transfers or anything. Dumb? Maybe. Helped get a lot of people into guns, which was my goal. I don't remember that I even ever charged anybody labor for what I did which was mostly with handguns. Sometimes it just feels good to share your intrests of the things you like with people that have the same intrests.

Its no wonder I ain't rich.

One other thing.> When somebody with a FFl wants 25-35 dollors to do a transfrer its not because they like guns, its cause their greedy.

   RANTS OVER.....

wyn

Coinchop, as a fairly new person to guns I appreciate your effort to get people  into the shooting sports. Jim Scouten of the Outdoor Channel's "Shooting USA" says "shoot more, shoot often and share your sport". I am glad to see someone like you take it to heart.

I don't think I'll be buying a breaktop. With the price they have reached a tipping point with me. I paid less for my .38 S&W than what they are charging for the top break. It looks cool and I am sure it is, but to me it has been priced out of the market. I'll stick to minis that have a cylinder pin.

coinchop

WYN>

    THANKS.

I didn't think they would be that high, but then what do I know about production costs?

I have 12 NAA guns and all but one were bought right. Happyness in the gun world is a good deal, lots of ammo, and a lot of good targets. Also friends that like guns and shooting are a plus.

On the top break I am going  to hold out till later and maybe down the road I will pick up one with both cylinders at a good price.

45flint

This is a test what are the chances that these will be the only top-breaks produced?  At this price they may not fly off the shelf and they may not go into full production.  That would make this a real collectable gun.  Bottom line is that this is a must have gun for me, so I will pay the freight.

45flint

What did the Earl cost in the preproduction?

coopercdrkey

Hmmmm......   Flint.........

   Interesting point.

they were offered here at $279 I believe for the convertible.  They sold them to us at dealer price if I recall.  On a 500 dollar gun, 450 is above what dealer cost should be.

Trouble is, this breaktop is new and labor costs are bound to be more, so cost is more.  Look at the replica break tops in 38 and 45 Colt.  They cost quite a bit more than a comparable Colt clone.  Labor

I'm with you, Steve. I can't NOT get one. Or two. LOL.

mayvik

I had a real hard time ordering a single..I cried a little on the inside when the nice lady (aka EVIL TEMPTRESS :P) on the phone asked if I wanted one or two and I emasculated myself by saying "Just one.."

But I figure for the price of a second, I can always pick up a couple of other minis..or a Guardian...

Sandy

All - Yes, these pieces ARE expensive and if we hope to enter production, we will have to bring the $ down.  Yes, we expect to be able to gauge whether (or not) to move into production, even if these don't "fly off the shelf". No, the current price doesn't begin to recover our costs; the handfitting and other labor is very expensive.

Hi Folks,

I am new to this site, but have been enjoying the "talk" for a while. Have always been a "big gun" fan, and picked up a 22 mag for "plinking".Liked it a lot and now just ordered a "breaktop". Go figure! I have a CCP and will carry this little thing, but will also have something a whole lot bigger real close.I must say I am impressed with the quality of these pieces, and they just look right. Also it seems they are a good investment. I would like to know if any holsters are going to be available. Thanks

cedarview kid

Hmm. Good question. It would seem the hinge is going to make it a tight fit for any existing magnum holster.

Maybe we can convince our own Mad Hat to mold some leather for us--if one of us lends him one for the model. ;)

mrmadhat

if I can get my hands on a gun I will be more then happy to make holsters for you guys.. but i dont see myself affording one right now, hopefully something happens soon

ephraim

Thanks mrmadhat. keep us posted. I would like to have one of your holsters for the breaktop.

cedarview kid

I'm thinking about a dual SOB break-top holster with loops for maybe 10-20 extra rounds between the guns. Sweet!

45flint

Given the increased complexity of the top-break over the current fall out cylinder, I can believe that costs are way up there. Look at the cost of the Smith and Wesson top break historics a few years back.  They just so remind me of these turn of the century guns and their increased complexity over the norm make them irresistable. NAA first drew me in with the Earl and now I am hardcore with this one.

   Steve

Uncle_Lee

Ya Flint, Me too.

   The Earls sucked me in.

Now the breaktops have bit me.

Now I am waiting for a pair of 32acp minis..........I don't think I'll make it long enough though...

Ordered and anticipating a work of art to arrive shortly after the ship date. This was a must have for me also. The Sequential pair would have been nice, but I'm happy with being able to get one rather than none.

oinchop: "One other thing.> When somebody with a FFl wants 25-35 dollors to do a transfrer its not because they like guns, its cause their greedy."

Finding a transfer dealer in So. Kalifornia that ONLY asks $35 for a transfer is a pipe dream. The cheapest I found when I wanted the Earl was $75.

coinchop

That almost puts them in the same class

as the anti-gunners. Living in Kalif. must do something to their brain. You can see where

   their values are at.
