Just thought I'd share.

Started out with just wanting the PUG as my back up carry. But later had the itch for the Black Widow for accuracy and coolness factor.  Then the Sidewinder became a must have pistol.  The PUG is still my favorite, but I luv 'em all.

mdzcpa - you picked three fine guns to start your Mini collection. Good photos too. The Pug was my first Mini also. Then came the Mini Magnum, then the LR ... the Earl ...

Great Pics thanks for sharing!

Nice collection  :D On the picture of the black widow I can see a groove under the barrel, I've noticed the ejector rods forward portion on this model and the Pug it looks different to that of the sidewinder which is a more usual arrangement. How do you open and then operate the unusual arrangement models cylinder/ejector rod out if interest mdzcpa? I haven't got one you see.

Maccab

Oh right, I've just watched a video on you tube, the entire cylinder comes out and you use the rod as an ejector.

Well that's simple enough ha.

Have I? Six months, didn't think it was that long.

You could put a hinge above the trigger and have the bottom strap attached to it, so it breaks like that, and the knock out pin could act like the shotgun barrel I once drew "it could have a wee lug on it's end which you turn into the frame" That way you could turn the rod, pull it forward a bit break then push it back to act as an ejector.

Maccab

Is the Sidewinder better for shooting, plinking like in regards ease of reloading ? The removable cylinder is a simple solution to a small "combat" if you will... Gun. Although I suppose you could have spare cylinders.

Welcome mdz etc...
I think you will be right at home here.
Thanks for the pictures. Better than Playboy to us old folks.

Thanks for the nice comments so far. I know most of you guys have seen this stuff already, but you know how it is. Like a proud parent thing. I did the best I could with my camera phone :)

As for the sidewinder being better for shooting and plinking...I think that's going to require more practice.  The Sidewinder is indeed faster to reload making range use and plinking way easier.  But at the same time I am more used to the grip on the PUG which I find much easier to hold.  And it's even easier with the Black Widow.  The Sidewinder I need more practice time with as the smaller laminate birds head grip is a bit handful when firing 22 WMR.  It's quite snappy.  I find the BW the easiest to hold and is by far the most accurate of the three with the longer barrel.  I can put together some nice tight groups 7 yards.

I really like them all.  My favorite is the PUG because that's my back up carry and I feel confident handling it.  The BW is my range and plinking shooter. And the Sidewinder is the coolest.

I'd get a PUG as well for a carry gun, as you could carry it in most situations, or as a back up like you say.

Reloading wouldn't be the issue if it was used as a carry gun, and it has better grips for grabbing in a panic etc.

I'd probably replicate your collection  :) And add to it, like you'll probably do he he.

On a winner for that aren't they NAA, collectability like.

Maccab

They look quite snappy in .22 Mag on Youtube, maybe a Rhino under barrel type arrangement would be an idea upside down hammer in a thumbhole grip...

you can buy the grip you have on your pug and put it on the sidewinder.

I'm definitely considering this.  I'm torn as the BW grip and emblem is really cool and part the pistol's personality. But a small grip may indeed make it the better carry choice. This is funny because I just posted this same comment in the BW Hideout Gun thread.

Decisions, decisions...

mdzcpa - I am at least as accurate with my Sidewinder as I am with the Pug or Blackwidow, or even my three inch Earl. The sights suit me better, which is not the same as saying that they would suit anyone else better. You have probably already seen this suggestion, but try gripping the Sidewinder very tightly when you shoot. That seens to help some folks, including me, be more accurate with the birds-head grips.

To me, part of the fun of NAA's Minis is trying to achieve accuracy with a gun that is not designed for accuracy. I can hit the bullseye with a Ruger Mark I every shot, which is fun, but no great challenge. Hitting the bullseye with a Pug - now that is a challenge.

Have you tried shooting your Pug from a rest position? The first time I did that it was a bit of a revelation for me. The POA and POI were the same, and I had started thinking that the sightsd were off. It was just me that was off.

mdzcpa

These are very good points you bring up. I definitely need more practice with the Sidewinder...and working on my technique as well. I appreciate the tip and I will try that on my next outing.  Same for bench resting the PUG.  There is still so much to learn about handling these pistols, and I really enjoy that!

Thanks!

Hey mdz etc.
I use a set of Cvang grips on the Pug I carry.
Not too big. Fits the hand the same way everytime you grab it. A little thinner than the BW grip.
