I have not found NAA to be very helpful with serial numbers.   Good Luck.

Its not really that important.I just thought there was some sort of system to it.I bought my first one last month and Im already thinking about number two.Addictive little shyts aint they?  ;)

Hey SilentKnight, my best advice is to plan your finances carefully and never be tempted to sell all your mini revolvers like I did.

You're going to want a variety of them to whip out and blast some .22. You're going to want a marked conversion cylinder for them. Trust me.

The Guardians are pretty sweet as well. It's my favorite mousegun .32. I have a "full size .32," but it doesn't get fired as much as the .32 Guardian.

Im old school(literally)and old as he!! too!lol! When I got outta the service the JetJockeys and the flight crews were still carrying superlite weight model 10 Smith Revolvers.I wouldn't take 2 Govt.45's for a Smith or Colt revolver. Now these little stainless cousins have really won me over.Thats good advice as I usually keep what I buy...Thanks...Mike

:) I found number two today. Its identical to number one(22lr,1 1/8)....I even found a deal at walmart on 325 Federal 22's for 12.95.Think I might ought to slow down while Im ahead.

I just bought number two.  Actually it was number three.  First one was a 1 1/8" magnum w/ LR conversion.  I sold it to help fund another gun several years back  :(

Earlier this year I bought a PUG that came with the LR conversion  8) ;D

Just a few weeks back, picked up a 1 1/8" LR model w/ Rams Horn grips - LOVE IT.

Got a Sidwinder on order (some day).

Needless to say... I think I got the NAA Disease.

Just keep buying. When it comes to maintaining and increasing their value, my guns have done a lot better than my stocks!

You definitely need a magnum frame Mini, even if you just shoot LR out of it. Three inch Earl, Pug, Sidewinder, basic Magnum Mini - it really does not matter. I prefer the magnum frame and grip size even though I shoot mostly LR and shorts. Be sure to get a conversion cylinder, of course.

I heard that the short barrel magnums were hard to hold and some times flew out of the hand...that true?

Never happened to me ... but the recoil is a bit jarring. I can see where someone could lose their grip if they were not expecting it.

one way to know the year by the serial number is to order a custom number and include the year. Of coarse it makes it impossible to ever trade it off. My wife bought me my first mini in the early 1980's and I have bought and sold them ever since. So far most of the ones I still have are ones she bought me. I don't want her to catch me trading off a present, she might stop giving them.

Now that is what I call a present worth getting! What a wife! What a gun!

I had a Magnum Companion made, I guess about 8 years, with my amateur radio call sign as it's serial number, then had a conversion 1 5/8" magnum with my call sign and numeral 2. If you know a ham operator and are looking for a unique gift, I don't think you could find a better gift, call signs are 4-6 digits long, perfect for serial numbers on mini's. Mine is especially unique, as the FCC assigned me KI4LLU, how cool is that for an old retired soldier/medic, drop the 4, it becomes KILL U. I was destined to become a collector of firearms.

Thanks Dinadan, she has been my best friend for over 45 years. She gave me the breaktop among others, total surprise, that's why I might as well carry it because I'll never get rid of it.

I don't think so.
I have a few pairs with consecutive serial numbers.
